Chapter Text
Denki coughed as another dusty textbook fell from a giant pile.
"Remind me again why we have to do this?" He complained
"Because you three decided to raid the girls locker room."
"Again me and Denki only went in there to stop Mineta." Sero corrected
"Awe come on, you guys were also curious!" Mineta countered back from under a dusty desk
"I wanted to just peek in." Sero grumbled "you two had to run in!"
"I wanted to see the bathrooms." Denki pouted
"And that's why Nezu has you three cleaning up this old storage room." Aizawa responded "Now hurry up. I don't want to be here all afternoon."
Denki sighed, moving another set of textbooks. He turned to grab more when a tablet out of the corner of his eye caught his attention.
"Oh what's this?"
Denki flipped it around checking for any external damage. It didn't appear to have any.
"Hey sensei?"
"Hmm?"
"Are electronics supposed to be here?"
"No. If you find any you can talk to Nezu about taking it." Aizawa spoke bored
Denki shrugged his shoulders and placed the tablet in his bag. On to finish up the rest of the room.
They finished up the room almost two and a half hours later. Thankfully Nezu showed up after they cleared out all the books, furniture and extra equipment so they didn't have to dust and clean the room down. He also let Denki take the tablet with him since it's been in the storage rooms for over 200 years based on the model. He also said it would be a miracle if it turned on. Denki waved to Mineta and Sero as he went to drop off his stuff.
"Ok, let's see if you turn on."
Denki held the power button for a few seconds, the screen powered on and he could see a few cracks on the inside of the screen. It died fairly fast after that, showing a dead battery symbol before turning off. He hummed walking towards a drawer. He rummaged through it looking for the right cable.
"Nope, not an apple charger, not a chrome charger…Ah found one!"
Denki plugged it in and placed the other end in his mouth. This way he could tell if something would go wrong before he could see it. He only charged it a small percentage of the way just to be safe. He turned it on again and miraculously it started up. It took forever in which he got his clothing ready to go bathe. He looked at the screen once it finally was on to see a password set.
"Ok a hurdle to deal with when I get back."
Denki came back to a dead tablet on his desk.
"Hmm, the battery died again. Strange, I was only gone for thirty minutes. How did 35% die that fast?"
He turned it around opening the back. He grimaced at the state of the battery. It had signs of corrosion and it looked a bit bubbled. He took it out of the tablet.
"Ok I'll ask Yaomomo or Iida to help me get rid of this. Now…memory card."
Denki poked around for a memory card, smiling brightly when he found one.
"Jackpot."
He grabbed a memory card adapter for his laptop so he could look over any salvageable files on the memory card. It took a second because of how old the memory card was but once he had the files he was happy.
"Wow, these really are old."
Denki was surprised to see a Flappy Bird app on the memory card, as well as a Minecraft 1.19 version, it also had some documents, old version of Snapchat and what not. But what really caught his eye was an app he hadn't heard about.
"Among Us? What's that?"
He opened the game only to see that he needed more people to play.
"Hmm. Well see about that." Denki mumbled opening his email
~The Next Day: Sunday~
"I'm telling you it weird." Jiro whispered
"But are you sure?" Kirishima asked, also confused, "he could just be…studying?"
The girls in the group looked at him. He sighed
"Bad excuse bro." Sero sighed
Almost the entire class was there. It started with Denki asking Iida if he knew how to dispose of a bad battery. He wasn't really looking at Iida more on his phone answering an email from what Iida told them. After that Denki had locked himself in his room. It wouldn't have been weird if when Mineta was running in the hall from Jiro and Mina that he opened his door and asked them to be quiet. Mineta was the one who asked and his reply scared everyone. He was studying something that needed quiet.
That is how the Bakusquad, Mineta, Jiro and Momo ended up stalking Denki's room. Bakugo was taped to the wall after he said to just rush in and look.
"Ok he has to leave eventually for food right?" Mineta asked concerned
Denki had only had breakfast. No lunch and dinner was in 30 minutes.
"Well, it's Sato's turn to make dinner so he has to come out." Mina assured
Ripping could be heard behind them. Bakugo jumped over them and headed straight for Denki's room.
"Out of my way! I'm going to-"
The door opened suddenly as Bakugo reared back to burst the door open. Denki was concentrating on the notebook in his hand. He peeked up and nodded.
"Oh hi Bakugo. Did you need something?"
Bakugo blinked in confusion. Denki shrugged after he didn't answer and walked down the hall.
"Ok. I'm going to talk with Iida and Yaomomo about this and see if the teachers would let us use the computer lab for this."
Denki walked away mumbling about a number of people needed and how they would set it up.
Everyone stood confused as he walked away.
" WAIT WHAT ARE YOU GOING ON ABOUT!? " Bakugo screamed
