Work Text:
His fingers quickly touched his lockpicks to find the right one as he knelt in front of the lock. It was an older lock, not surprising as the Empire didn’t change what they didn’t think was broken. He slipped out the proper picks and went to work.
“Two minutes,” came through his comm, Jyn sounded bored, that was a good sign.
His answer is the satisfying click of the lock, “Got it.”
Then it was a matter of grabbing and copying everything that they needed before he stood up and picked up the tool bag he was using as cover, “Heading out.”
On his way out, he kept his head down and his shoulders hunched, one more worker who wants the day to be done. As he stepped out of the building, he scanned to spot Jyn who had been waiting at a cantina nearby.
Before he got all the way across the street, she was in his arms with tension in her back as she kissed him and said, “Love, where were you?
He takes a brief moment to enjoy the kiss, they’re working but he’ll steal these true moments however he can, “Old machines always take longer.”
As they turned, he could feel the eyes of patrollers sliding off of them as they went down the street until they were safe.
