“May, Ben go get them out of here please!” We open to finding Mary, Richard, Ben Parker, May Parker, Teresa and Peter in a hydra facility. It is based in Redacted, Redacted. Mary and Richard are making a stand using uprooted tables to create a small space for a 8 year old Peter Parker and a 6 year old Teresa Parker to be safe. Behind them, their only means of escape. Only things with them are their clothes, a few guns, a necklace, a bracelet, and a small notebook. Every 5 seconds both Mary, RIchard and Ben pop out of their safe spot to shoot at hydra agents, while May, the medic, tends to a severely fevery Peter. He currently has a fever of 103.5 and while it does not fall or grow, it is still worrying for the family. Teresa Parker is helping May, by wetting the tee-shirt on Peter’s forehead with water every so often. May turns to Mary and says,
“What? No, I am not abandoning you. We may not be blood but we are family. Family does not abandon each other.” Mary looks to May with her best attempt of a soft smile. It is definitely a unique feature to show on Mary’s face, as her face is mostly blank and emotionless.
“I know May. However, I need you to save my children.” Mary looks over to her not husband Richard. Her and Richard have a… unique relationship. They both hate and love each other. She turns back to May and say,
“We need you to save our children. Give them the childhood we never got. Save them from the cruelty of my father, teach them to fight the correct way. Teach them to make mistakes and to learn. To love life and to not take it. Please May I beg of you. Give them this.” While Mary does not tear up, May does. Both Ben and Richard are listening, while Teresa is focused on helping her brother. Richard turns to Ben and asks,
“Ben, Please go with them. They need someone to protect and guide them. Teach them the things I wish I could. Teach them tricks and flips, but also love.” Ben nods and responds,
“Of course Richie. Are you sure you two can’t come with us?” Both Richard and Mary shake their heads. Mary speaks up,
“No Benjamin. We must make sure you leave without anyone following, and with no way for them to follow you. Even if we could…” Mary trails off and Richard picks up where she left off,
“We are too damaged. We would constantly be looking over our backs, and be paranoid. Plus neither of us really had the greatest paternal figures growing up. Well Mary didn’t, I never grew up obviously. I fear we could not give them the childhood they deserve if we raised them.” Mary nods and starts back up,
“We trust you to give them the childhood they deserve. We would gladly give our lives, if it meant our children are safe.” Both Ben and May look at each other before nodding, agreeing to take the children.
“Okay… We will. But we will miss both of you sorely.” With that Ben abandons his post of helping fend back the hydra soldiers, and goes to activate the machine behind them. Their entire plan for escape. Richard takes over shooting, and keeps the soldiers at bay while Mary talks to the kids. She turns to Peter and Teresa and places a hand on both of them.
“I know I birthed only one of you, but both of you are my children. I love you more than you will ever know. I wish you both a long life filled with warmth and love. I wish this chapter of your life is nothing but a bad memory.” She turns to Teresa and takes her necklace off. The necklace is a small sterling silver chain with a charm or emblem on it. The emblem itself is a small circle with the face of anubis on it with a large R on it. Teresa takes the necklace and puts it on and Mary says,
“That necklace holds the symbol of my family. While I pray you never need to come back, but should you and Peter need to, this emblem will help you.” She bends down and kisses the forehead of Peter and then leans over to kiss the forehead of Teresa. She says,
“I love you both more than anything. May the light lead you to safety. You two will always be with me, and I will always be with you. In your heart. Whenever you love yourself, know that it is me loving you from the beyond.” While Mary does not tear up, both Teresa and Peter, who is slightly conscious, reach out to Mary and Teresa says,
“I love you too Mama.” She smiles before helping May get a good grip on Peter to carry him. She speaks to May,
“May. You are my sister. We may not be blood, but you are family non the less. I wish you too have a life filled with love. Please take care of my children, and raise them as your own.” May nods tearfully and responds,
“Of course Mary. It is my honor to raise them. I love you too. It has been an honor knowing you Mary A… Mary, it has been an honor knowing you Mary.” Mary smiles and nods, before turning towards the soldiers to help Richard. Richard stops and turns towards Teresa and Peter. He breathes in and out before speaking.
“I know we didn’t get off on the right foot, and I am technically neither of your fathers but I love you both. I know nothing can make up for what I did, but I hope this helps you two live a better life. Peter, watch over Teresa and protect her. Teresa makes sure Peter doesn’t overwork himself, make sure he lives his life for himself. I umm made this in hopes that you remember us. I love you both.” He hands Teresa a small notebook filled with photos. While the small family didn’t live a happy life the few moments, in the notebook, were the happy ones. Teresa holds the notebook close to her chest and nods. He smiles and slips off a bracelet that Teresa had never seen before. He slips it onto Peter’s wrist and says,
“Remember Peter. G…Parkers were made to fly.” The bracelet is similar to Mary’s necklace. It is a simple sterling silver bracelet with a charm on it. However instead of the charm on Mary’s necklace it is a different one. It has a large F and G in bright yellow and Green. With that he nods both Teresa and May before joining Mary to fend off the hydra soldiers. Peter’s fever goes slightly up by a few decimals and Teresa and May add more water from the water bottle in hopes of cooling him off. They know it won’t help, but they can try. After two minutes and a graze to Teresa’s face, Ben gets the portal working. They have no clue where it will take them, or if it will work, but they have to try. May takes Peter in her arms, and has Teresa hide behind May. Ben steps near them and says,
“Ready guys. We are getting out of here. For Good.” They all nod and Mary and Richard turn to say goodbye one last time. Mary speaks up,
“We hope you live a life full of love and happiness. May Ben teach them the things they need. All the things we wished to teach them. We love you all so much. Peter live and have a happy life. Teresa, grow up to be the woman we know you can be. Go” With that May, Ben and Teresa say goodbye before stepping through the portal. Mary says this prayer,
“Universe, please guide my family, not of blood but of bonds, to a safe and protected place. Let them live a life we wish they can have.” Richard turns to Mary and asks,
“Do you believe they will? After our luck, I believe Ben called it parker luck, is bad,” Mary turns to him with a small smile and responds,
“Of course. I believe they will. Now go set the machine to explode, I am going to find all the copies of the blueprints to destroy. Both physical and electronic.” With that Mary dissolves into the shadows. Richard shakes his head, muttering about dangerous women and sets the machine to explode, while defending himself from the soldiers. None of the soldiers have gotten the courage to move closer, as any that have, have been shot down by Richard or Mary. After 5 minutes Mary comes back, with a few cuts and bruises nothing too serious. She has a few papers in her hand. Richard raises his eyebrow and asks
“What took you so long?” She scoffs and says,
“Do you have the machine ready or not Richard?” Richard rolls his eyes and responds,
“Yeah, I do. Once I release this button everything explodes. Are you ready Mary? We are giving our lives for our children?” Mary attempts to smile softly and replies,
“Always Richard.” She walks up to him, kisses him and removes his finger from the button, causing everything to explode. It brings down the building, killing everyone, including Richard and Mary, inside. However with May, Ben Peter and Teresa. They arrive in a forest of sorts. May spots a house nearby so they all head towards it. However many times they stop in order to take care of Peter’s fever. Teresa asks May about it.
“May, why is Peter's fever so high? What is happening with brother?” May looks sadly at Teresa and responds,
“Well, the bad people we lived with… poisoned Peter and his body is combating it. When he gets better, he might not be the same peter.” Teresa gets a scared look on her face and asks,
“Will he still be my brother?” May looks softly at her and says,
“Of course he will be Teresa. He will just be stronger and faster. Now come, I think we are close to civilization.” The now smaller family walk forward until they see the house. They walk up to see five people outside. Three of them are men. One is a man in a wheelchair, another is a man with long sideburns and a cigar, and the third is a man with a large visor. Next to them is a large furry blue beast. The final person is a woman with long white hair. They all freeze and Ben turns to May,
“Maybe we should head somewhere else.” May shakes her head and responds,
“We can’t Ben. Peter is only getting worse. We don’t know if he will survive. We need help now.” Just then the man in the wheelchair turns to them. He calls out,
“There is no need to be afraid. You are free to come closer. We will gladly help you.” Ben tenses up, but with reassurance from May, they step closer. Teresa stays behind May, and Ben stays in front of May and Ben. He keeps his handgun, safety on, in his right hand, ready to defend his family. May speaks up,
“Please help my nephew. He is badly sick and we don’t know how to help him.” A man with sideburns and a cigar in his mouth steps up along with a woman with pure white hair. The air around her seems to fill with electricity. May steps in front of Teresa protectively and stares them both down. The wheelchair man speaks up again,
“Storm, Logan stand down. They mean us no harm. Beast, please see if you can help her nephew.” Through telepathy he says,
“Ororo Logan, they are scared to death. I believe wherever they came from, they experimented on the child. Hank, be careful when dealing with the child.” Hand says okay telepathically and steps forward.
“Hi, I'm Beast, the resident Doctor here. May I look at your nephew?” Hank says with his hands up in a surrender stance. THey all tense when they hear the word doctor but May nods and says,
“Okay, but only if I can come with. I am a… nurse where we come from.” She turns to Ben. “Ben protect Teresa.” She gives Ben a look that says with your life. Ben nods and Teresa moves quickly from behind May to behind Ben, still clutching the notebook. She peeks out from behind Ben and asks,
“Please help my big brother Mr. Beast.” The big furry blue man smiles softly and nods. Beast asks May to follow him, and they leave towards the big house, with Logan in tow. With just Ben, Teresa, and the others tension rises. Until Charles asks,
“Ben, Would you like us to show you around? We mean you nor your family no harm.” He says as kindly as he can. Ben replies,
“Fine, but if you so much a move a hair on their head wrong, you will regret it.” With that the small family walks around the campus. Learning more about this new world they are in. Will this Family get to live a peaceful life? No not at all they are the parkers what do you expect. But it will be interesting. Join this family as they adjust to a new world.
