Summary:

Sofia Beckett always knew she was a bastard. While no one may have stated that fact to her face, the glaring stares of her step-mother in the wake of her father's death never allowed her to forget. Being the seamstress, the cook, the cleaner, the shoeshiner, the gardener, and the handmaid to two hopeless debutants have lead Ms. Beckett to sneak away into a night of regency elegance at none other than the famed Bridgerton House Masquerade Ball. Will she be able to snatch the heart of her Prince Charming or fade into the midnight of a not-so-happy-ending?

Benedict Bridgerton was the second eldest son of the prolific Bridgerton household. This not only meant he harbored no title, but also, much to his distain, no identity. While many desperate debutants and their even more desperate mama's are willing to do whatever it takes to gain access to this family, Benedict finds himself doing whatever it takes to distance himself. Could a young housemaid settle the heart of this incomparable bachelor or will the temptation of a lady in silver be enough to turn his head elsewhere?

I do not own the rights to the characters of the Bridgerton series. The events of this recreation will follow the book, An Offer From A Gentleman fairly loosely as I will be incorporating my own version (just for fun as I await the next season to air 😋) 

If you have read the books and/or seen the Netflix series and do not agree with the changes I have made..............tough 🤷🏾

Next,

Although season three will be about Colin and Penelope, I am writing this at a time before the season airs, so, I don't know how the show will play out their story (I only have the book to go off of) Therefore, for this story, I will be operating as if season three is about Benedict, but I will be incorporating the events of season 2 Penelope and Colin into this story. 

It is highly recommended that you have watched the series before reading this as, again, I will use the book plot loosely and heavily draw inspiration from the Netflix series. 

Speaking on the Netflix series, the characters of this story are intended to have the appearance as they do in the show with my own interpretations of Sophie and her family included in the face-cast below.

Third,

I have never written for this time period before. I have read a few novels outside of Bridgerton, but my knowledge of the genre is very limited. Although I will do my best to research the time period, I apologize in advance if I get some details wrong 🙈🙈

Rather than making in-text citations for when these come in which could interrupt the immersion of the story, these sections will be in bold text.
