Work Text:

Screams of agony, mixed with howls of pleasure echoed off the walls of the cavernous second circle of Hell. In the deepest bowels of the Circle of Lust, piles of bodies covered the whole surface of the flesh pit, where a new batch of Succubi was about to be born.
Above it, the colossal spider figure of the Maiden of Lust, most commonly known as Widowmaker, supervised with delight the birth of her new 'daughters' ripping open the bodies of the damned, crawling through them and earning their right in the world.

The bodies and the souls of the damned was everything the Succubi needed for their souls to develop and their flesh to form. The depravity of the souls that were sentenced to the Circle of Lust forged the personality of each Succubus. The deeper their desire, the stronger and depraved the new being would be.

As always, it was a pleasure for Widowmaker to see her children rise above the corpses and immediately start devouring the flesh where they came from. Usually a blood orgy would ensue, in which each Succubus ravaged their sisters in a desperate attempt to satiate their appetite. Sometimes killing their sister, only the strongest rising from the rite.

A common spectacle that had been going for eons, but that never ceased to amuse her. Ah, ma petite filles. So eager to fill the never ending hunger. Your cries of pleasure are music to my ears. Rise now. Eat. Rape. Ravage each other and the flesh of the depraved.  she smiled proudly at the new batch.

The debauchery continued while the Maiden of Lust caressed her body, enjoying the view. It would take a while for her 'daughters' to finish their first taste of the world and have enough consciousness to understand their mistress, so in the meantime, Widowmaker would just enjoy herself at the hellish spectacle.

Before she could continue stimulating herself, something caught her attention, making her stop. Amidst the bloody orgy, a single Succubus sat upon a pile of bodies with her legs crossed, hands folded together and a smile plastered on her face.
Widowmaker raised a delicate eyebrow at the display. Contrast to her sisters, this Succubus didn’t show interest in following her animalistic instincts. No. This particular being just seemed… happy, looking around with a smile and eyes full of wonder.

She studied the abnormality some more and noted that, unlike her sisters, this one was petite and slim. More importantly, her wings, that grow from the side of her head, were too small; not developed enough to help her fly.
Ah. A deformity. I see now. This poor soul is nothing more than a mistake. Explains why she looks so… merry. The Maiden of Lust thought. Well, she won’t have to suffer for long. I’m sorry ma chérie, but your only purpose in your short life is to be food for your sisters. she smiled and resumed pleasuring herself.

However, the rest of the Succubi simply ignored her existence, causing the Maiden of Lust to start losing her patience. The little one on her part just kept smiling and looking around. Sometimes she enthusiastically waved at her sisters, which most ignored and some responded back with a small and slow wave. Confusion painted on their faces.

Irritated, Widowmaker stopped what she was doing and considered snuffing her out herself if the rest didn’t act soon.
To her relief and joy, a couple of Succubi finally took notice of their sister and started to prowl towards the little one, thinking of her as an easy prey.

The little one's smile dropped and quickly stood up, hands on her waist and chest out. Her comically small size made her look anything but intimidating. Her sisters taunted her, shoved her, some got close and started to caress her body but no good intention was behind that attention.

She pushed them off and made some distance between them. Widowmaker was surprised by this, not because she managed to fend herself, no; it surprised her how swiftly this Succubus moved.

Once at a good distance, the group and the little one were in a standoff, until one of the Succubi tried to tackle her. Finally. It was getting boring. Adieu, petite lapin, may your flesh satiate your sister's hunger. Widowmaker let out a soft chuckle. However, to the surprise of everyone, the little demon dodged the attack easily with an alarming speed and, before the Succubus could comprehend what was happening, she sliced her throat with a swift motion of her hand.

The group stood there for a couple of seconds, dumbfounded, until they finally snapped and attacked all at once. Again, all failed to hit their target and one by one met their doom at the hand of a little but incredibly agile demon.

Widowmaker, like her now deceased daughters, was stunned at this display. “ But.. how? ” she could only watch puzzled at the petite demon licking the blood from her hands and nonchalantly walking away from the massacre she just committed. It shouldn’t be possible. A deformity like her should have died the moment she spawned and yet, not only she was still standing but also took the life of her superior sisters.

The little demon kept walking around without a care in the world, like she was strolling in a park. Greeting the other Succubi and making small conversations that were flatly ignored or shooed her away from their blood orgy. It wasn’t long before she noticed that above the flesh pit, at the edge of the cliff, the Maiden of Lust was watching her.

One of the numerous skills of the Succubi is their incredible sight that allows them to spot their prey at long distances. Thanks to that, she could tell that her mistress' eyes were on her.
Unfortunately for Widowmaker, she also possessed the same skills, after all, her daughters were shaped -mostly- from her image. That’s how she saw the little demon’s face morph into pure joy, twinkle in her eyes, and furiously waving at her. Against her better judgment, Widowmaker returned the wave with much less enthusiasm, which made the demon jump in place of sheer happiness. “ Oh no…

The demon started to walk faster through the masses, then sprinted until she started running at full speed. She was so fast that she left a big trail of dust on her wake, and if the Maiden paid attention, she could see a blue trace trying to catch up with the demon.

Is she… is she coming at me? ” Widowmaker was perplexed at this. Only a fool would try to get close to the Maiden on their own volition. Clearly this demon was an idiot.

Before she could think more on the matter, the demon effortlessly climbed the cliff, and jumped towards her mistress. Which was an outstanding feat considering the height difference.
The demon tackled Widowmaker… actually she just collided with the Maiden’s torso, not moving her an inch, as expected due her size and that her lower half was a humongous spider. Nevertheless, the demon fiercely hugged Widowmaker.

The Maiden of Lust, too stunned to act, just stared at the little body clinging on her with their head nestled between her breasts. A couple of seconds passed before the demon finally pulled off her, not dropping its hands from Widowmaker’s waist, and looked straight into her eyes. “Hiya!”

“...salut.” Was all the Maiden managed to say. Too puzzled for the moment.

“Hey! Thanks for giving me life! Or, well, allowing me to exist. Thank you!”

“You’re… welcome?”

The demon smile only grew bigger. “Oh! And thanks for waving back! Can you believe only a few waved me back? And barely! Rude! But hey! You did! That’s like… a present or something. Y’know? Like happy birthday to me, right?”

Widowmaker’s eyes twitched. How can a newborn be so annoying? In fact, how could a newborn think anything but satiating their appetite? The Succubi, when born, has a simply animalistic mind and instincts until it starts to develop with the knowledge of the souls they came from. But that takes time, and they don’t stop their debauchery until their Mistress says so.

The demon started to babble about everything and nothing, a remarkable yet useless skill considering she just was born not more than half an hour ago.
The Maiden of Lust ignored her and grabbed her face, squishing the demon’s cheek hard enough to make her pout, but that didn’t deter her though. Widowmaker started to inspect her, moving her head from one side to the other while the demon talked. “ Only her wings are malformed, I don’t think they will develop properly anytime in the future. No trauma or holes on her head, I can discard brain damage. ” The demon in question kept babbling even with her cheeks squished. “ ...for now.

Widowmaker decided to put an end to her chattering, placing a delicate finger over her lips, the demon immediately went quiet, a blush spreading on her face. “Hush little one. I just want to take a peek at your soul.” The demon barely nodded and let her mistress do… whatever she was doing.
Looking into her eyes, Widowmaker searched for the amalgam of souls that were now part of the demon. Something must be there that didn’t belong. “ A pure soul perhaps? Maybe someone who wasn’t corrupted enough? ” It was the only explanation for such abnormality.

Yet, she couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. Rotten souls, twisted desires, the hunger for the flesh. Oh the hunger. Delicious hunger. Widowmaker smiled for a moment, relishing in the feeling, but quickly deadpanned after realizing that nothing wrong was in the demon. She just was… like this.
The combination of the worst the Circle of Lust could provide, spawned a cheerful, petite deformity that looked like she belonged anywhere but in Hell.

It doesn’t matter, killing her would be for the best, this mystery will be forever unresolved, but it was better than having an annoyance roaming in the world .”

“M-mistress?” The demon timidly asked.

“What?”

“What’s my name?” she inquired.

Widowmaker quirked an eyebrow. Usually, Succubi picked their own name, but here was the exception to the rule, again, demonstrating her lack of intelligence.
The Maiden of Lust knew it was redundant to name something that would meet its end in just a couple of seconds, however she decided to indulge her “ I will give you this present… and then take it away with your life .”

Now, it was the question of what name to give her. Looking behind the demon, she saw the trail that was left on her wake. A long trace on the ground gave away where she came from.

“Trace…” Widowmaker slowly said.

“Wot?”

“Tracer.” “ Yes, a stupid name for a stupid child.”

The demon, now named Tracer, stared at her mistress for a moment, emotionless, then she boomed with an expression of pure joy “FUCK YEAH! TRACER! THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!”

Of course you would think that .” Widowmaker thought, rolling her eyes.

“Why tho?” Tracer asked expressionless.

“Why? Because I said so, chérie.” She stroked her cheek lovingly before she grabbed Tracer from her hair and twisted her head around so she could see behind her. “And you left quite a trail in your wake. You traced the flesh pit, my love.”

“Wow! Really?!”

“Yes… and” she leaned in and whispered in her ear “you were so fast that a trace of light followed you behind.”

“Gasp!”

Now, what should I do with you? ” While Tracer started to ramble about how amazing her name was, Widowmaker contemplated how to end her life. “ Mhhhh I could bite her neck open. ” She thought while caressing it and licking her lips. “ Maybe rip her heart? ” Tracer, oblivious of her mistress' thoughts, kept talking. “ A kiss. Yes. I will give you a taste of paradise before I eat your tongue. That will shut you up. ” Widowmaker leaned forward but before she could connect their lips, Tracer spoke, stopping her.

“Sooooo what do I do now?”

“Pardon?” her mistress blinked several times without moving, inches away from Tracer's lips.

“Yeah. I mean, I know I was just born but… I’m bored. What should I do? Oh! WAIT! Can I go to the mortal world? What was the name of it? Can I?”

Widowmaker pulled away and pondered. Killing her was the obvious and better course of action. But, while her sisters were still in the flesh pit, following their most primitive instincts, Tracer jumped out of it on her own, and developed a conscience much faster than them. Not a smart one, but faster nevertheless.

She also had shown to be a decent fighter. So maybe sparing her life would be interesting… for now.

“Hmmm but I wonder… What a petite lapin like you could do in the human world? Mh?” She picked Tracer like she weighed nothing and inspected her at arms lengths. “Small. Barely developed where it matters. Almost a childish figure.”

“Hey!” Tracer pouted.

“Not a single seductive trait. And too… ‘happy’.” She said with disgust. “But, alas, humans are known to be depraved beasts after all. Perhaps someone can find something to do with you. Predators are everywhere nowadays.” With that she dropped her.

Tracer fell on her butt with a loud thump. “So… can I go?” she said while getting up and massaging her butt.

“Non.” The Maiden of Lust’s tone was dry, dripping irritation.

“What?! But you said…!”

A deadly glare was all it took to shut Tracer up and make her cower in fear. Her gesture softened before explaining herself; “You’re nothing but a child, mon amour. Like your sisters, you have so much to learn. It would be a shame if someone took your life out there, non?.” “That pleasure is only reserved to me”  “So, why don’t you run along and explore? Mh? This is your home, my dear. So many souls to torment. So much flesh to deprave.”

In reality, Widowmaker didn’t care for Tracer, she just wanted her gone for the time being. Also, after some consideration, disposing of her now would be a waste. Why kill her where she is standing when she can hunt her? With her dexterity, it would present a hopefully decent challenge. That, and the idea of letting the little demon enjoy life before taking it away gave her chills. She could only imagine the horror on Tracer’s face when she'd tore her apart.

“Oh… ok. So… I just…” Before she could continue she realized that her mistress turned around and drifted away. Already bored with the little demon and her daughters in the flesh pit. “W-wait!” Tracer raced and circled the hulking spider body of Widowmaker. “I have one more question!”

Sighing, she stopped and looked down at her. “Quoi?”

“...Can I call you mommy?” Tracer asked with a goofy smile.

Giggling softly, Widowmaker lowered herself so she could be close to the demon's level. Slowly and gently she patted Tracer’s cheek two times, before slapping her with enough strength to throw her to the side a couple of feet away. “Non. Now, be a dear and don’t be a pest. When I feel like you’re ready I will summon you.”

Tracer laid on the ground for a while, she knew better than to try to talk to her mistress again. She immediately got bored so she got up and decided to explore Hell on her own. She took a look at the flesh pit, her sisters busied themselves in their blood orgy. “Meh, I can join them later.” and with that she sprinted away to the unknown.

It had been months since their first encounter. During that time Tracer spent her days exploring the Circle of Lust and the other circles of Hell as well. When she wasn’t exploring she performed her duty; tormenting souls and corrupting the new arrivals.

Widowmaker let her roam free, but it didn’t mean she wouldn’t stalk her just for fun. Numerous times she tried to kill Tracer, hunting down the oblivious demon, but luck was on her side all the time. All the traps she set, Tracer avoided them without realizing.
When she tried a more direct approach, it was always too late, Tracer never stood on the same place for long, she was always moving at an infuriating pace.

It would be so easy to call her over and kill her, but now it was personal. I won’t let this imbecile outsmart me.

From time to time, Tracer would approach Widowmaker, asking her if she could go out to the human world. This was something unheard of. All the Succubi knew that they could only approach their mistress if they were summoned, and talking to her so nonchalantly was asking for punishment. Yet, Widowmaker allowed it. Only to make the rest of the Succubi envy and despise Tracer to the point they would avoid her or try a futile attempt at her life.

Until one day she had enough.

Tracer was ranting about her expedition to the Circle of Gluttony and how she expected a better cuisine “And let me tell you, not gonna lie, that buffet looked gooood. But one bite and that goat leg rotted in my mouth! The fuck?! Shouldn’t the food be as good as it looks? Is the Circle of Food after all!” She complained, waving frantically her arms.

Widowmaker sighed and rolled her eyes. “We’re in hell, ma chérie. This is not meant for the souls to enjoy. They will eat that foul meal until they burst and do it again for the rest of eternity. We torment souls here, petite lapin, and it pains me to know that you’re too stupid to understand that.”

“I-I know that! But, here we fuck like crazy! It seems like they’re having a good time...”

“Are they now?” The Maiden casually gestured with her hand where a couple of souls were having a ‘good time’ with the Succubi. While the demons rode them, they also ripped their flesh, the victims were in a state of pain, horror and ecstasy. Their movements brutal, almost berserk. They weren’t, indeed, having a good time.

“Oh… uhm… ok you have a point there. Anyways! You have no idea what I found at the Circle of Hate!” Tracer immediately resumed rambling about her other expeditions, but before she could continue, Widowmaker grabbed her face and squished her cheeks.
Tracer let out a giggle at this. She learnt that that was her mistress' way to tell her to shut up. Sometimes she could swear her jaw would break, but still she found it funny.

“Hush, dear. I’m not interested. But, you know what I was thinking? Mh? I think… you’re ready”

“Ready?.... GASP!!! You mean I can get out?! Oh fuck yeah!!! Thank You thankyouthankyou!!” Tracer threw herself over her mistress to hug her, but one of Widow’s long spider legs stopped her. “Ooof!”

“Tut-tut, hold your enthusiasm, my petite salope. You’re not going alone and it won’t be a pleasure trip.” she deviously smiled. “Tell me chérie, what’s the purpose of a Succubus outside our cozy circle of hell, mh?”

“Uhm… tempt the mortals, corrupt their souls, kill them and bring their damned souls or bring them alive if possible?”

“Well done, my love. You know your basics, you’re not as stupid as you look.” Widowmaker said ruffling Tracer’s hair. “Now, this will be a test. You’ll prove that you’re worthy of walking among your sisters. One month. You’ll follow your sisters to wherever they go and harvest the souls of the mortals and bring… Sixty souls. If you manage that, I’ll let you go on your own after that.”

“Sure! I can do it!” Tracer answered without hesitation.

That was what she wanted to hear. Tracer had no idea what she was signing up for, and she knew it. Sixty souls in one month is an impossible task. Only a few of my beloved children managed to bring more than twenty in that amount of time. Widowmaker knew that Tracer would fail. Giving her enough reasons to torture her without feeling like she was cheating at her own personal game.

“Oh so sure of yourself. Do you think you can handle it, chérie?”

“Yeah!”

Widowmaker giggled softly “I will hold you to that. Besides, you wouldn’t want to disappoint me, would you? Because if you do… well… you would hurt me, and you don’t want to hurt me, darling.”

Tracer nodded, starting to feel uneasy at the implications. “Don’t worry, Mistress! I won’t fail you!” And with that Tracer sprinted on her way. Only to come back a second later. “So, uh, who should I go with? And when?”

Widowmaker closed her eyes and sighed. “Find Lunara and tell her I sent you. She and a couple of your sisters will be leaving in a week.”

“A week?! But I want to go now!”

The Maiden leaned on Tracer and stroked her neck, before grabbing it and started choking her. While Tracer gasped for air and clenched at her Mistress’s hand, Widowmaker sweetly said “Never again shout at me, salope. Now do what I say and don’t disappoint me.” With that she let go of Tracer, who barely got out a ‘sorry’ before sprinting away again.

Now, all Widowmaker had to do was wait. Wait for the little demon to fail and be too afraid to come back. Then a more interesting hunt will begin.

A month passed by, and to Maiden’s infinite frustration, Tracer came back. And with her, not sixty, but sixty nine souls.

“How?” was all the Maiden asked when she saw Tracer’s harvest.

“Oh it was amazing!! The human world is just fantastic!”

“Answer me.” anger dripped from her tone.

“Ah, right! Well, we reached a city that looked pretty dull. Not much to do, right? I found some blokes that were easy prey, you know; rapists, cheating husbands… pedophiles, seems like they see me as a child or something… now that I think about it I feel insulted. ANYWAYS! I spoke with Lunara about moving to another place, but she said no, that we were good there, and I’m pretty sure she was refusing just to fuck me up, and we stayed. So I started to explore the city and its outskirts. And you can't imagine what I found! A Convent! Full of women horny as fuck!”

Of course Widowmaker closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. Of course luck would shine on this imbecile .

“So, yeah. I joined them, I played the role of a poor oh virgin girl who lost her family and was now looking to get close to the lord and all that shit. And let me tell you, that place is A. FUCK. FEST. All you can eat pussy buffet! I think I was the sexual awakening for everyone. There were so many. And the best? So. Many. Corrupt souls! Lass who killed their husbands or someone husbands for money and now were on the run. Girls that were anything but virgins that been fucking around with everyone until they were kicked out from their towns. And the Nuns! THE NUNS! The matriarchs and all that, did some veeeeery nasty shit in their lives and some even were molesting the girls there! My ass is more saintly than them. The old fucks put shame on some of us. I don’t regret ripping them apart and taking their souls. In fact, no one will miss them. Oh! Some of them were reeeeaaally old and yet fucked like a young bloke on their first time.” she excitedly recounted her adventure. “Now, I’m not heartless…”

You’re supposed to be, you idiot! Widowmaker’s eyes twitched.

“I had popped the cherry of lots of lass buuuuut I didn’t take their souls. Like. They were pure innocents? I mean, yeah, I could have corrupted them but like, y’know, their first time and all… they were so sweet. So I just left them. They have their whole life ahead to fuck up. Besides, I had plenty of bastards to feast on. And yeah, that was pretty much my jackpot.”

“I see…” Widow sweetly said with a warm, reassuring smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

“So… Did I do good? Can I go on my own to the human world now?”

A silence settled over them. Even though Tracer's mere existence annoyed her to no end, she had to admit that she did, in fact, an excellent job. Keeping her around would be more useful than expected. Also, Widow could be many things, but no one could say she wasn’t a demon of her word. She did say if Tracer managed to accomplish her task, she would grant her wish of roaming the human world on her own.

Sighing, Widowmaker relented “Yes, my petite lapin, your performance was admirable. You have proven yourself and made me… proud.” She said the last part with disdain.

“YEAH!” Tracer cheered, jumping and fist pumping in the air.

“Tut-tut. Calm down my love. You can go and do whatever you want, but…” one of Widow’s spider legs slowly traced the demon’s chest until it stopped in the middle. “You have to promise to make your kin proud. Of course I won’t ask you to bring sixty souls every time, but I expect you to not disappoint me. And, don’t make any mistakes or…”

Suddenly, the limb that was on Tracer, pushed her down to the ground and stabbed her on the chest. The pointy leg broke her sternum and almost stabbed her heart. Tracer howled in pain, grabbing the appendage trying to pull it off in vain. The Maiden could feel her heart beating desperately. “...I’ll have all eternity to teach you a lesson. Do you understand, mon amour?”

Tracer, wriggling in pain under her Mistress, face scrunched in agony, nodded fervently.

Widowmaker smiled. All malice had left her face, and now looked at Tracer in a loving manner. Seeing her in so much pain brought so much joy and woke her desire.

She removed her leg from Tracer’s chest, blood spilling profusely, and picked her up. While Tracer clutched at her chest in a desperate attempt to cover her wound, Widow leaned closer and captured her lips, pulling her in a fervent kiss.

Tracer was stunned. She blushed furiously but couldn’t enjoy the sensation at its fullest due the incredible pain coming from her open wound. Tracer was terrified, in agony and aroused at the same time. Huh, so this is what the tormented souls feel all the time here.

After a minute, Widowmaker separated from her. With a smile on her face, she reveled at seeing Tracer confused and in pain. Then she gently put her on the ground. “Now go to the blood pools, dear. Heal that nasty wound. And remember; no mistakes.”

Oh, Tracer will remember. She has a big hole in her chest that will remind her everyday. With much effort, she managed to reach the blood pools and took a dive. There she spent the rest of the day, letting the essence of Hell heal her wound. It would leave an awful scar.

“And that’s how I was born and got this scar!” Tracer, now Lena in her current human form, told Satya, the Angel known as Symmetra who was also disguised as a human.

“I… see…” Was all her friend could say about it.

It has been several months since their first encounter at the library during the city siege, and like they promised, they got together for ‘tea time’ outings. It had been awkward the first couple of times, but with each meeting, they started to feel comfortable around the other.

Right now, they were in a small tea shop -that it took a while to find one that met Satya’s standards- enjoying their drink on a solitaire table next to a window. Lena sipped her tea happily while her friend processed her life story.

After a beat, Satya finally spoke “Thank you, for sharing your story, Lena. I didn’t know demons had it that hard.”

“Yeah, well, it’s Hell after all, y’know? All is fun and giggles until someone pisses the wrong demon. I bet Heaven is the same.”

“Well, I can assure you that we don’t kill each other, but yes, there are rules to follow and consequences for those who break them.”

“Bleh, boring..” She sipped her tea.

“Now, not that I’m ungrateful for your tale but I just inquired about your pendant. Not your whole… creation.”

Tracer looked down and saw the new pendant hanging on her chest above her scar.“Oh! Right! Meh, I got it from an old hag after I killed her.” Satya frowned at this “Oh come on! I promise it’s just ‘bad’ guys, no one will miss them. I’m doing society a favor!”

Satya rolled her eyes and continued to enjoy her tea, looking through the window seeing all the mortals coming and going. They spent a couple of minutes in silence, they had reached that stage in their relationship in which they could enjoy the other company without the need to say anything.

During that time of contemplating life and enjoying their drinks, something of what Lena said started to bother the Angel. “Lena?”

“Yes luv?”

“About what you told me, you said the Maiden of Lust warned you about committing mistakes, correct?”

“Mhm! She loves us lots but, boy, she is scary when angry. Better not get on her bad side.”

“Right, and isn’t this… Satya gestured at the table and the two of them. “Something she would consider a mistake? Something to frown upon? Us. A Demon and an Angel together.”

“Whaaa? Pfft! Of course not!”

“...”

“...”

“Right?” Lena’s eyes darted from one side to another. “I mean. It’s just tea. It’s not like, I’m plotting against Hell or betraying my kin or or or something! I’m uh-” Realization slowly dawned on her.

“Oh shit. oH FUCK”

And that’s how Tracer got her first existential crisis.
