Chapter Text
Waking up next to the Alpha was his favorite thing. It was the rare chance that he could look upon the other while he was so peaceful, so at ease.
Smiling, he dared to inch fingers towards him to run over the stubble that covered the other's jaw. It had the Alpha stirring, a soft hum while he leaned into the touch. "Cath..."
"G'mornin' love," he replied in a whisper, smiling brightly.
"Cath..."
He frowned, curious as to why he was repeating his name. "S'wrong Marc?"
Finally opening his eyes to focus attention on Cathal with concern, Marc said, "Cath, hold on."
"What?"
"Just hold on, Cath," Marc told him with an odd amount of seriousness to his tone. It honestly scared Cathal, not sure what he meant by it. "I'm going to find you."
Suddenly, the world was ripped from under him. Marc's room, bed, everything - even the Alpha himself - were gone in an instant and replaced with darkness. Cathal blinked, startled and confused as he realized he'd been asleep. It was a dream. But a dream that had felt so real.
He groaned, bits of pain scattered over his body rousing him further and remembering the situation at hand.
"Are we awake, little wolf?"
His eyes flickered to the voice, wincing back at the twisted male tone. A silent snarl and Cathal moved to tuck himself further back into the wall, hopefully farther away from the other.
"It's about time to get you to scream again..."
