Macaque groans “Go pick up your phone, it hasn’t stopped ringing all night.”
“They’ll stop eventually Plums” Wukong mumbles sleepily, cuddling closer to Macaque.
His mate promptly shoves him off of the bed once the phone rings again “answer it” he growls, turning over and covering his head with his pillow to drown out the noise.
The gold furred monkey grumbles as he gets up off the floor and goes to grab his phone on the nightstand but low and behold it's not there so he searches for the phone, a little while later he finds it in the living room under the couch, some of the island monkeys must have hid it sometime during the day.
The phone rings once again like it has been all night, honestly it's quite surprising how Macaque hasn’t killed him yet especially with his sensitive hearing. He clicks the accept call button “hullo?” he asks, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“DAD! THANK THE HEAVENS YOU FINALLY PICKED UP THE PHONE!” Mk’s shout makes him hold the phone slightly away from his ear.
“Kid, why are you calling at-” Wukong looks at the time on his phone “four in the morning? In fact, why have you been calling all night?” he asks.
“Sooooo, I might've have gotten kidnapped, and they're using Huang Jinshen (a golden rope that binds its enemy) so I kinda can't escape…” Mk laughs uneasily.
“I’m sorry but you've been what?!” Wukong whisper yells at his cub so he doesn’t wake up the six eared demon that was currently sleeping in the other room. The immortal has to strain his ears a bit to hear the shuffling coming from the other side of the phone “Kid?”
This time instead of his cubs voice he hears a familiar voice, well two voices, the gold and silver horned demons Yin and Jin. “We have your successor, give us 669860 yuan (roughly $10k American) and we’ll return him unharmed.”
Distantly in the background Monkey King can hear his kid yell “whoa, whoa, wait you think i’m only worth 669860 Yuan?! I’m worth at least 66986011 Yuan! (roughly $1 million American)” Mk huffs indignantly.
“Where are you two keeping my cub?” Wukong growls, his tail is swishing dangerously. He can clearly hear the two demons gulp and talk about how they should have forced Mk to call his partner Red Son for the money, but let’s be real here if they did that Red Son would have killed them much sooner. “I got to drop off the money somewhere.” he says in a false calm voice.
The two demons give him their location, dumbasses.
Wukong promptly ends the call and walks back into his bedroom and nudges his partner awake “Mk got kidnapped, I’m going to go get him unless you want to come tag along and teach Jin and Yin a lesson with me.”
Macaque is up instantly “MK WAS WHAT?!” He looks over to the other immortal monkey who is getting dressed in his armor and promptly gets up to do the same, after all he and Wukong have to teach the gold and silver horned demons to not mess with their cub.
