Beomgyu was avoiding his problems, and by problems he meant Taehyun and Kai.

He was avoiding them.

Them and their mating.

Their mating that made his heart feel like it was being stabbed by millions of needles.

No need to tell beomgyu that it wasn't the right way to handle things, he knew. He didn't care, he'd rather go no contact untill it felt less like he was chocking to death when he catches their scent.

He had occupied his mind with Soobin and his drama for a while but now that Yeonjun and Soobin were happy and in love and mated and all that sappy shit, Beomgyu was left to his own drama.

He would be going back home for the summer and stay hidden in his room because of course Taehyun and Kai would go back to their families as well in the same town.

They met in highschool, Beomgyu had transferred in the beginning of his senior year, he hadn't been able to graduate the year before and really had no intention of being in class with younger students that all knew he had failed to graduate. That's how he found himself being Kai's classmate.

Being friends with Kai meant being friends with Taehyun because the two were a package deal. Beomgyu knew that but he would be lying if he said that it didn't make him feel like an outsider sometimes.

It made sense when they presented and even more when they immediately recognized each other as mates. They acted like nothing was different, kept on hanging out just the three of them for the longest time, Beomgyu acted like he didn't notice when one would frown out of the blue and the next moment the other would say they weren't feeling well. He pretended not to see them holding hands under the table at lunch, he looked away when he saw them looking at each other with so much understanding without having to say a word.

Beomgyu just wanted to stay friends with them, even if it meant hurting because of an unrequited crush on a couple, he would endure it.

But when they mated it got too much for him. He felt like his whole world crumbled around him, deep down he knew it would happen. They had been practically mated from the moment they presented. Doesn't make it less painful for him.

Before going back home he agreed to meet up with some of his friends, he found that in university it was easy to find people his age and made friends pretty easily, he was glad he had them but right now he wished he hadn't accepted going.

"So what's your plan? Just ignoring your friends untill they finally give up on trying to contact you?" Heeseung asked unimpressed after he heard about what Beomgyu had been doing for the past month.

"Pretty much." He shrugged not looking up from his bag of chips. He didn't need to see the disappointed faces of his friends, he already got a speech from Soobin.

"Do you really want to stop your friendship with them just cause they mated?" Jeongin chimed in, concern evident in his voice.

He didn't. That was the whole problem. He didn't want to lose them, they were the best thing that happened to him. But he couldn't stay close to them knowing he would be hurting the whole time.

"I can't face them now and act like i don't want to jump off a cliff. They know me and they'll make me say why i avoid them and I'd rather do it when I'm not stupidly in love with them but rather at a moment i can laugh about it. Not feel like my heart has been ripped off my chest." He could feel tears fill up his eyes but he refused to let them fall. He cried enough.

His friends made noises of understanding and the night proceeded without bringing this topic up again. He woke up really early the next morning to take the first bus, he would take the first or last one to prevent from bumping into his best friends. Taking a bus while it was still dark outside was the only way he could be sure as Taehyun prohibited Kai from being outside alone then, as they lived in different part of the city and wouldn't walk him back home. What a protective mate, Beomgyu thought bitterly.

Taehyun was never like that with him, and he understood that an omega was statistically more susceptible of getting harassed on the street at any moment but he couldn't help but thinking about how Taehyun would always care more about Kai than him. He knew it was selfish but it was is own head he could think whatever he wanted.

He arrived as the sun was finally starting to peak it's head out. He walked slowly, suitcase making way too much noise for the hour, trying to appreciate the calm of the morning.

He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He knew it couldn't be the two because he had muted their group chat. It was his brother, he was also coming home later that day and was inviting him for dinner that night.

Beomgyu sighed. Maybe his stay at home wouldn't be that bad.

When he got home his parents were still sleeping so he decided to do the same, taking a nap to catch up on some sleep he couldn't get in the bus.

His brother arrived in the afternoon. Their parents both at work still and not coming back until late. The first thing his brother did when he saw him was put him in a head lock but that's siblings for you.

They ended up in their favorite restaurant, catching up. He tried his best not to cringe when the inevitable question of how were Kai and Taehyun doing was asked. He lied, pretending to know that they were doing well when in fact he had no idea. They probably were, they say that recently mated couples were the happiest in the first 5 years.

He didn't mention their mating to his brother, he knew he'd make a weird face and his brother had a special weird Beomgyu face radar he would be able to tell Beomgyu was sad about it when he should be happy for his friends.

Just when he thought his night would go well, familiar faces entered the restaurant. Kai's sisters and their mom but no Kai in sight, he sighed in relief for a moment but tensed back up when his eyes met Lea's who was sending glares his way.

They knew. They definitely knew. Beomgyu doesn't even know why he had thought they wouldn't when Kai was so close to his sisters.

His brother announced that he was ready to go so Beomgyu went to the bathroom before they leave. He did his business and washed his hand but just as he left the room he was pushed in a corner by Lea and Bahiyyih.

"Oh! Hi, long time no see." He tried playing dumb. It had been a while since he saw them but he knew that wasn't why he got pushed against a wall in a restaurant by two angry Huening.

"Cut the crap Gyu. You know why we're here." Lea spat out pointing an accusatory finger at him.

"To eat?" He squeaked but was only met with a slap on the arm by Bahiyyih. "Okay! I know but i don't see where that's your problem." He pouted rubbing his arms. That little girl was strong.

"That became our problem when he came home sick because of you." Lea crossed her arms on her chest. Kai was sick? He was fine the last time he saw him in their dorm lobby, Beomgyu had ran the other way the moment he noticed him but he looked fine.

"You know the saying, worried sick doesn't actually make people sick." He got another slap on the arm by the younger. "Ouch! Why are you saying it's my fault he's sick? I didn't sneeze on him!" He exclaimed.

"Don't play dumb."

"You lost me, Noona. I have no idea what you're talking about." He said trying to find his brother's gaze to send a help signal. The two seemed to think for a moment.

"You don't smell them?" Lea asked suddenly. Smell who? He could smell the food, he could smell Lea's alpha scent, then noticed that Bahiyyih had also presented as an alpha while he was away, that's news.

"Who's scent? Bahiyyih? Congratulations on presenting i guess but no need to attack me for not noticing right away." The two looked exasperated at Beomgyu's answer.

"Get your shit together." Lea warned before they walked back to their table.

He and his brother walked back to their house but Beomgyu was deep in thoughts. Kai was sick, sick with what? Was it bad ? Was his life in danger? It shouldn't be if he wasn't aware of it untill now, then again he cut contact with them.

The next day he called Soobin to ask him if he knew about it. He did. He didn't tell Beomgyu, that made him irrationally angry but he contained himself. That wasn't Soobin's place he knew, and he wasn't the one ghosting them so it made sense that he knew when his friends were sick. What killed him was not knowing what was wrong.

His sisters claimed that it was because of him but he racked his brain he couldn't find any reason he could make him sick. If Kai was sad about not having any contact with him, Taehyun would take care of him, make him eat, make sure he wasn't sleeping too much or too little, reassure him. He wouldn't get sick, Taehyun wouldn't allow it.

For the rest of the week Beomgyu limited his outings to the minimum, if his parents asked him to go out buy something he would but otherwise he'd stay inside. He didn't want to meet anyone else that could get mad at him for supposedly make his friend sick.

Could he even still call them friends?

Does he even have the right to when he completely abandoned them at a moment where they should be celebrating, they were being hurt by him and his selfishness.

After another week where he barely moved from his bed, phone off. Just watching movies and sleeping. His mom barged into his room without knocking which was surprising. She handed him her phone and said it was important.

"Hello?" Beomgyu said voice raspy from not using it for so long.

"Gyu! Turn your phone back on! Kai is in the hospital!" Soobin's voice rang through the phone. When the last sentence left the older's mouth Beomgyu sat up abruptly now wide awake.

"Wh-where?" He asked shakily. When he got his answer he hung up the phone after promising to be there as soon as he could.

He pushed his blanket away and stood up to find pants.

"I'll go start the car." His mother told him before leaving. She heard everything and Beomgyu was glad she did. After finally finding pants he ran out the door taking his shoes in hands to jump in the car.

His stomach was tied in a knot as he laced his shoes in the car. It felt like that drive was taking forever. He didn't know what was going on with Kai but he was terrified of losing him.

He may have needed some time to himself but he never wanted to lose them forever, neither one of them. He was panicking but he couldn't even imagine what Taehyun must be feeling.

They finally pulled into the hospital parking lot, Beomgyu ran out of the car before his mother even stopped it. He breathlessly asked for Kai's room number and ran over to the elevator. Too fidgety to wait for it he then decided to take the stairs, hating himself for not going to the gym with Taehyun when he asked.

He finally made it to the hallway where he could see kai's family, Yeonjun and Soobin who was hugging a shaking Taehyun tightly. The first one to notice him was Taehyun, he perked up and turned to look at him making everyone else follow.

He walked over to the group anxiously. Taehyun approached him, he felt the punch colliding on his jaw before he saw it. Taehyun was one hell of a boxer he always felt bad seeing Taehyun's opponent on the ring looking like they got out of a car crash but feeling it was a whole other story.

"Was it that hard to answer your fucking phone!" Taehyun screamed when he straightened up after the punch, holding his cheek. "Do you hate us that much?" He exclaimed and broke down crying, his knees gave up.

Beomgyu caught the younger's shaking frame before he fell on the ground. He lowered himself and the younger to sit on the floor, Taehyun in his lap. Running a hand through the younger's hair he couldn't stop repeating 'im sorry' over and over like mantra. After a while he felt the alpha in his arms go limp. He panicked a little bit but Yeonjun put a hand on his shoulder.

"He hasn't properly slept in weeks, it's okay." The older whispered. Beomgyu calmed down but the worry never left him.

Kai was in the hospital getting treated for god knows what and Taehyun had tried his best untill he collapsed in exhaustion.

If he had been there none of that would've happened. If he hadn't been such selfish asshole, his friends wouldn't be in such state. They said it was his fault Kai was like that. And if he had been there helping Taehyun take care of Kai he wouldn't be this exhausted. It was all his fault.

After what felt like forever, filled with hushed discussion from Kai's family or Yeonjun and Soobin, Beomgyu never let Taehyun go. The doctor finally came to give some informations. Beomgyu softly woke Taehyun up, he would want to know.

"Hello, I'm doctor Jung. Can i know which one of you is Kai-ssi's mate?" She asked looking around at all the alpha's with mating bites.

"I am." He stood up from Beomgyu's lap, he followed suite wanting to get closer not to miss any details. Even if kai's family was present, Taehyun and Kai were mated meaning that he would be the one to be contacted first, he's the legal guardian.

"Kai-ssi presents very serious symptoms of a mate's rejection. Were you gone for a long period of time? Did you fight?" She asked trying to be as polite and neutral as she could. Alpha's were known to lose their temper at the first comment they didn't like.

"No i was there the whole time but i know what caused this." Taehyun sighed. The doctor tilted her head in confusion. "He's also Kai's mate." He finally said. Beomgyu froze.

"I- what?" Beomgyu couldn't talk or think or do anything really. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. That wasn't possible, Taehyun had to be making some kind of sick joke to make him feel guilty for avoiding them.

"That helps then. I'm guessing you weren't aware, I'm going to need your name for the file. The fastest way to reduce his symptoms would be a mating bite but since he's unconscious for now you're going to have to scent him as much as you can." She instructed before giving him a pen and her papers with all of Kai's information.

"I don't have much scent." He mumbled and it was true, he was a beta meaning that his scent was more neutral than the rest of genders but him specifically didn't have that much scent. Everyone told him that, even his parents had a hard time picking up his scent he didn't how he could help the younger.

" You do." Taehyun whispered pulling him out of his thoughts. Beomgyu decided not to say anything, he handed the paper back to the doctor who told them they could go see him now.

Beomgyu was paralyzed at the idea of seeing Kai. He was the reason why he was in this state, he didn't deserve to see him. Only when Soobin dragged him by the wrist did he snap out of his thoughts.

They entered the room to see Kai laying motionless in the hospital bed, skin as white as the wall and lips purple. Beomgyu stayed at foot of the bed just looking at him as his mother sat on the chair beside him to run a hand through her son's hair.

Taehyun sat on the other side looking exhausted and Beomgyu couldn't stop thinking that it was all his fault.

It became too much for him, he tried to move to leave the room to get some air but a hand on his shoulder forced him still.

Soobin took his hand in his so he knew the one holding him there was Yeonjun. He looked up at Soobin vision blurring, the older wiped his tears away before pulling him in a side hug.

It was all his fault.

After a while Kai's family left after making Taehyun promise to call them when Kai woke up. Soobin and Yeonjun also left after making sure that Beomgyu wouldn't run away again.

Beomgyu wasn't going to, he put the younger in a hospital bed he was going to do everything he could to make it up to him. Kai had always been nothing but nice to him. The light of his life, they hadn't known each other for as long as Taehyun and Kai had but they immediately clicked.

And it made sense now. Kai was his mate, Kai had two mates and he was one of them. He still had a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that he was Kai's. It seemed to good to be true.

"He wanted to wait. He wanted to wait and he threw up blood." Taehyun's quiet voice broke the silence. He wasn't looking at him, his eyes locked on Kai's unmoving frame. "He wanted to tell you before we mated but i-" he sniffed chocked up. "I thought that maybe if he created the bond you'd feel it and we could talk." Beomgyu could see tears rolling down the younger's face, all he wanted to do was reach over and wipe them, kiss him, tell him everything would be alright but it wasn't his place.

"I'm sorry." He whispered back. Taehyun looked up, pain written all over his face.

"Why did you leave us?" Taehyun's voice cracked making Beomgyu's heart shatter. He caused so much pain to the ones he loved the most. He couldn't answer, because his answer wouldn't help, what was done was done all he could do was try and help as best as he could now. So he only looked down his lap.

Taehyun huffed at the lack of response and stood up saying something about food but before he could leave too far Kai whined. Even unconscious Kai had felt his mate leaving his side. Taehyun walked back closer to run a hand through the younger's hair and a promise to come back quickly.

Beomgyu was left alone with Kai, he hasn't touched him yet, simply sitting beside the younger hoping it would be enough. To be completely honest Beomgyu felt awkward holding the hand of someone else's mate even if he's supposedly his mate as well. Taehyun was the one who put a mark on his neck, they're the couple. Beomgyu was just the fucked up beta that put Taehyun's omega in distress. He doesn't even know why Taehyun tolerated him there.

He finally brought his hand up to hold the younger's. The moment their skin came in contact he heard Kai sigh in content, at least he knew he was doing something right.

He took Kai's hand and guided it to place his wrist against his neck where he knew his scent glands should be. The doctor said he needed scenting so that's what he'd do. When he rubbed his neck against the other's wrist he felt him relax even more and let out the softest moan.

The door opened back up startling Beomgyu who immediately let Kai's hand go. Taehyun looked at him weirdly. "Keep going." He said, it wasn't an order but it felt like it. He had never really seen Taehyun as an Alpha before today, when he met him he wasn't presented and once he did he never rubbed it in other's faces, he wasn't agressive, didn't use his gender to make others feel inferior. He didn't change.

But seeing him, mated, caring for his mate made Beomgyu's beta want to obey whatever the younger would tell him. He knew that having a crush on an alpha would make him easily submit to him but the way he immediately took the younger's hand back was scary.

They were allowed to stay the night as mates. Beomgyu woke up with the biggest neck pain but felt surprisingly more rested than he had in months. He blinked his eyes open to be see eyes staring at him. Kai's eyes. Beomgyu jumped in his sit to grab the younger's hand, relief washing over him.

"Hey, you're awake. How are you feeling?" Beomgyu asked gently, thumb running over his knuckles. Kai only whined and nodded looking too tired to talk, his eyes wear filled with tears and disbelief as if he couldn't believe Beomgyu was actually there.

The noises must've woken up Taehyun because he sat up as well, immediately fussing over him, beomgyu went and called the nurse. It took about 30 minutes for the nurses to come in with the doctor and Kai hadn't said a word, only whines while gripping both his and Taehyun's hand tightly.

Beomgyu saw the doctor check how Kai was doing untill he had to ask. "Why isn't he talking?" That worried him. Kai always had something to say, even when he was sick he would reassure other and comfort them. Seeing him this quiet panicked him and from Taehyun's face he gathered that it worried the alpha too.

"His wolf took over. He was in too much distress from the rejection, it's the same that happens during heats and ruts. He should be talking by the end of the day if you managed to reassure him that you won't leave." She told him then left. He sat back down heavily in the chair and rubbed his face.

Kai's eyes hadn't left him since he woke up, even when Taehyun talked to him he would nod or shake his head but Beomgyu never left his sight.

"Kai i won't leave, you can stop looking at me." He sighed but regretted his words the moment he saw tears filling up the younger's eyes. "Oh no. Don't cry. I'm sorry, look at me all you want it's okay." He squeezed his hand to make the younger feel his presence. Taehyun ran a hand through Kai's hair who slowly calmed down.

The Alpha called Kai's mother to let her know the good news and an hour after the three women were back. Beomgyu decided that he really needed to go home to shower and change and maybe eat because he felt gross and hungry but the thought of leaving Kai even with his family and mate made his stomach churn.

"I need to go home." He whispered to Taehyun who frowned. Taehyun had been able to swing by his house the night before to get changed and shower but Beomgyu had stayed, terrified of what could've happen to an unconscious Kai, but now he was awake and almost talking so he thought it would be a good moment.

"You need to ask him." The younger answered trying to look as nonchalant as possible but Beomgyu could tell he didn't like the idea. Beomgyu turned to Kai who was already looking at him, never stopped, he put his hands on either sides of Kai's right arm and leaned in. From this close he could see Kai's beautiful shining eyes, his mole on the corner of his eye thay was usually hidden by his bangs.

"Kai-ah." He started softly, Kai smiled gently up at him to show that he was listening, he was so cute he almost abandoned the idea of leaving. "I need to go home for a while." Kai immediately frowned and whined, he tried to grip Beomgyu's shirt but Beomgyu only took his hands in his, kissing them softly. "I'll come back. I promise, i will. I'm only going to get changed then I'll come back to you." He promised. Kai didn't look convinced but stopped fighting.

He put a hand on the younger's cheek, running his thumb over it then left without looking back knowing that if he did he wouldn't actually leave. Walking away was harder than he had anticipated, his beta was a lot more reactive than he ever was before, making his chest feel tight.

He got back home and ran inside the bathroom to shower. Letting the hot water run down his body he finally realized how tense he had been. Who wouldn't be.

Beomgyu just discovered that his best friend/ crush was actually his mate. Mate that was already mated to his other best friend/ crush. Beomgyu's life got even messier than it was before.

He really had thought that getting over them would make everything go back to where it was but now he understood why it was so hard to stop thinking about them.

Even if Kai was supposed to be his as much as Taehyun's he didn't know how the alpha would react if he actually marked Kai. He seemed to know about it but that didn't mean his Alpha would be okay with a beta all over his mate. Beomgyu was more than happy to be near Taehyun but he was pretty sure it wasn't a reciprocated feeling. He had put the alpha's mate in the hospital anyone would be furious.

Beomgyu got out of the shower and got dressed. He decided to take the hoodie he was wearing the night before with him to give to Kai. The doctor said it was like a heat so he guessed that it could maybe help.

He walked to the kitchen to find his mom preparing dinner and putting some away in a Tupperware. She smiled when she noticed him.

"How is he doing?" She asked him gently.

"He woke up." He said not knowing what more to say. "He- He- i-" he couldn't do it. He couldn't say it out loud. That it was all his fault. He did that. He felt so scared and guilty and lost. What was he even supposed to do now?

"I know sweetheart." She whispered before pulling him into a tight hug. He relaxed in her hold, melting in the familiar and comforting scent of his mother before the moment was broken ny his phone going off. He pulled away and saw a text from Taehyun telling him to come back soon.

She gave him the food she prepared and he left after she kissed his forehead. When he came back to the hospital the first thing he saw was Taehyun holding Kai's face in his hands whispering something Beomgyu couldn't figure out, Kai's family had left. When he approached closer he then noticed the tears running down his face and the fast breaths he was taking.

He dropped his bag on the floor and took wide steps to get to Kai's side. Taehyun turned around and seemed relieved to see him, Kai on the other hand just cried harder. He took his hand and kissed every knuckles.

"I'm back. I didn't leave. I promised and I'm here I'm not leaving again." He tried to reassure him but nothing seemed to work to get Kai to stop crying and the more he cried the more agitated Taehyun got.

"Hug him. Scent him. I don't know do something!" He finally exclaimed making Beomgyu jump into action. Again it wasn't an order but it felt like it.

Beomgyu sat down on the bed beside Kai's knees then pulled the younger closer to him to bury his face the other's neck. He rubbed his cheek to the omega's scent gland and slowly could feel him stop crying and relaxing hands gripping the back of his shirt. Beomgyu didn't stop until he felt Kai going completely lax in his arms. He slowly lowered the now sleeping omega down on the bed.

He stood up and picked up the bag he left discarded on the floor. He took out the two conteners and gave the alpha one. "My mom made this for us." He explained even if he didn't need to. Taehyun took the box and they ate in silence. He hated how awkward things got between them but he guessed that he brought this upon himself.

The next morning Beomgyu was scrolling down his phone silently waiting for Kai to wake up when he was interrupted. "Hyung." A groggy voice called out to him. He hummed not moving his eyes away from his phone untill he completely registered who's voice had called him.

His neck snapped towards the omega who was trying to sit up. Beomgyu jumped and helped him up. "How are you feeling?" He asked relieved to hear the younger's voice.

"I'm okay, my head hurts a bit." He said once he was in a sitting position, Beomgyu nodded sitting back when Kai turned to Taehyun.

"Hi baby." The Alpha whispered placing a kiss to his mate's forehead. Kai lifted his weakened hand to the alpha's cheek, they looked at eachother with so much love and understanding that Beomgyu felt like running away all over again.

"I'll tell the nurse he's awake and talking." He mumbled getting up and started walking towards the door but a whine made his whole body freeze. He turned around to see them in the same position but this time Kai was holding his hand over his mouth looking toward him, very embarrassed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-" the omega fumbled with his words. Beomgyu silently walked to his bag and gave Kai the hoodie soaked in his scent before walking away.

After notifying the nurses he left the hospital, not far, he just sat at the front deep in thoughts, enjoying the fresh air. He watched people passing by, some patients taking their morning walks, doctors running from one side of the hospital to the other shouting.

He saw an old couple sitting there, three benches over to the left. They were lost in their own world, not noticing the chaos that was surrounding them. Beomgyu often daydreamed about having that, someone that only saw him, someone that would love him untill he was old and wrinkly, someone that didn't care about whether he was a beta or not, someone who was his the same way he was theirs.

It didn't matter if that person was an Alpha an omega or even a beta, he just wanted to feel loved. He let himself hope that it could've been with Kai and Taehyun, the first time he met them the thing that stuck with him was their scent, he never really noticed people's scent, never really took time to focus on it since it took a lot of concentration for him to recognize them. But with his best friends it felt almost natural, Kai's sweet scent of vanilla and strawberry never failed to put him in a good mood while Taehyun's grounding scent of matcha and coffee felt like a blanket of comfort.

Beomgyu knew that one day he had to let go and he tried but now he didn't know what to do. He was Kai's mate, he should be happy, he should feel ecstatic knowing that one of the people his heart longed for was actually his but the problem was. Kai wasn't really his. Kai was Taehyun's before he was Beomgyu's. He always had been and always will be. Beomgyu had to make his heart understand that and stop beating like crazy when he sees the younger, stop dreaming about a perfect future of love, kids and a happily ever after.

Beomgyu couldn't have that.

Beomgyu is just a beta after all.

When Beomgyu finally got back to the hospital room, he found Taehyun packing their bags and Kai dressed in the pants he came with and Beomgyu's hoodie.

"We just signed the discharge papers." Taehyun informed him. Beomgyu nodded and went to grab his own bag.

"Can-can- i was thinking- you don't have to- just- if you don't mind-" Kai tried but seemed too overwhelmed to let his thoughts out. Beomgyu felt guilt squeezing his heart. He made his mate too uncomfortable to speak freely to him. He's the worst mate ever. Taehyun put a reassuring hand on the younger's shoulder.

"He's trying to say that we thought it would be best if he stayed at your house. Just long enough for him to feel better." Taehyun voiced and it made sense, he couldn't go out of the room without Kai crying it only made sense for him to stay with him untill his omega knew he wasn't going to ignore him again. But he doesn't think he'd be comfortable with Kai and him being alone in his room just the two of them, he doesn't even know how Taehyun looks so unbothered by that.

"Sure you guys can stay at my house." He answered appearing as nonchalant as possible. He didn't look at them when he fished his phone out to ask if one of his parents could come pick them up. When he got a positive response he looked up at the two. "Let's go "

The ride was quiet, he was in the front sit beside his dad, Taehyun and Kai at the back. He didn't need to look back to know that they were holding hands. He didn't want to see it.

They settled easily in his bedroom, it wasn't the first time they would spend the night but this time he didn't move his mattress from his bedframe to add it to the spare mattress on the floor and make a giant bed, he announced that he would be sleeping on the ground while the two could use the bed. They didn't argue even if they looked like they wanted to.

That's how they spent the next week. Beomgyu sleeping on a mattress on the floor next to his bed so Kai's omega knew he was there, even if sometimes he still got woken up by Taehyun in the middle of the night who made him notice that Kai was crying in his sleep again. When that happened he would gently scent him and effectively stop his cries.

It broke his heart to see the younger like that, everytime he saw the youngers talk quietly and giggle to themselves he was happy to see them smiling, when they politely entertained a conversation with one of his parents he was relieved to see them acting normal.

He wanted to do more, he couldn't bear the looks of sadness Kai sent his way, he wanted to hear that ear piercing laugh Kai used to have, he wanted to get teased for the smallest things. He wanted to hear those random facts Taehyun used to tell.

He wanted his friends back.

"Why didn't you mark him yet? That's what the doc said would work the best no?" Soobin asked. Beomgyu had gone to his cousin's house while Kai and Taehyun went back to their house to get more clothes, even if Kai barely wore his own.

"He never asked for it. I'm not going to mark him if he doesn't actually want it." Beomgyu shrugged failing completely at acting unaffected.

"You're his mate. Of course he wants it. Maybe he's waiting for you to bring it up." Soobin tried to reason.

"He knows I'd do anything for him. Maybe wearing my clothes is working for him." Soobin looked at him exasperated. "Don't look at me like that. You didn't even know you marked Yeonjun when you did. At least I'm making sure he really wants it." That was a low blow, he knew that Soobin still felt bad for the way things happened between him and his mate even if the other Alpha had been ecstatic knowing that they bad been able to mate.

"You know it's not the same. The only reason we hadn't mated before was because we didn't know we could. You know you can. What is actually stopping you?"

What was stopping him?

When Beomgyu got home he was called over by his mom, he noticed his friends shoes in the entrance signaling that they arrived before him. He walked to the kitchen fully expecting his mother to ask him to help her with dinner only to find her sipping on a cup of tea while his father moved around the kitchen under the warm yellow lights.

"Hey." He greeted sitting down in front of her. She had that worried look on her face that made his stomach twist, the last time she made that face was at his grandmother's funeral.

"How is Kai doing?" She asked him gently.

"He's fine. Better i guess. Not running a marathon soon but he gets out of bed." He said not having any other information really. They live together but Beomgyu was still closed off, most of the time he just watch them play videogames and watch movies together, sitting on the other side of the room acting like he wasn't aware of their every move.

"What about you sweetheart? How are you feeling about all of this." She asked taking his hand in her's, his father also stopped stirring the pot to look at him kindly. His parents weren't fated mates, they fell in love after meeting at the coffee shop his father worked at and his mother being an overworked law student spent most of her time at. Their love story was easy, they met, they talked, they went on a date, they fell in love, they mated. Easy.

Why couldn't Beomgyu have that.

"I don't know. It's a bit weird but i just really want Kai to feel better. I just want things to go back the way they were." He sighed playing with his mother's wedding ring.

"Did you guys talk about the situation?" His dad finally asked, he shook his head no, they hadn't, they just coexisted in the same space, Beomgyu was too scared of saying anything that could ruin his friendship with the both of them even worse than he already did. "You should." Beomgyu nodded.

"I will." And he will. Right now.

He left his parents and walked to his bedroom, he didn't knock, it's his bedroom, but he wish he had. Taehyun and Kai were kissing, thankfully not on his bed. He stopped dead in his track while Taehyun and Kai pulled away hurriedly.

"Sorry." He mumbled not looking at them. "We should talk." He finally said, they nodded and Beomgyu sat on his desk chair facing the two who sat on his bed. "What do you want to do about all of this?" He asked looking at no one in particular.

"What do you mean?" Kai asked looking ready to break down at any moment.

"Do you feel better? Do you need a mark or just scenting is enough. We do whatever you decide, it's you who's the most affected, it's your body in pain. I can't feel the bond that you feel I'm sorry." He finally said, and it was true, he couldn't feel the bond even if he desperately wished he did he could not. He felt desperate to feel a connection with the two but all he felt was the pain that came with unrequited feelings.

Unrequited because Kai never asked for a relationship with him even if he was his mate, because they had mated knowing he was part of the equation, because even now Beomgyu felt like he wasn't needed there, a third wheel, an annoying little brother that your mom makes you take with you when you go out with your friends. He wanted to cry, scream, destroy something but he wouldn't, he had no ground to act like he was the one who hurt the most when the omega was crying in his sleep and used to throw up blood because of him.

"I-i- uhm." Kai looked panicked. Taehyun gently wrapped his hand around the younger in support. Stab through Beomgyu's heart. "I think, scenting is okay." He finally whispered looking down. Another stab of his heart. That's why he was so afraid to even ask if Kai wanted a bite, he didn't want to actually hear the younger say he didn't want it.

"Let's meet up regularly for that and I'll give you clothes if you need it. Just text me to let me know." He closed the discussion ,just then his father called them for dinner.

That was the last night they spent at Beomgyu's house, they left the next day. They would be meeting in two days for Beomgyu to scent Kai but the longer it went on the more days they'll try to go without scenting.

They spent the rest of the summer like that. Beomgyu only left his house to see them then went back to locking himself up in his room, only when Yeonjun and Soobin came to annoy him would he get out of bed but other than that, his summer had been pretty depressing.

When classes were about to start, Beomgyu got a text from Heeseung asking him if he wanted to be his roommate since he and his mate Jake hadn't gotten the mated pair room they asked for, there surprisingly was a lot more mated pair this year. He obviously accepted, he would rather room with someone he knew than anyone else.

He had to meet up with Taehyun and Kai three days after settling in his new dorm, he knew absolutely nothing of what the couple would be doing that year and he honestly didn't want to know.

"Dude you look like shit." Was the first thing Heeseung told him when he entered their shared dorm. He snorted.

"Thanks. Good to see you too." He replied sarcastically. He threw his bag on the floor before opening his suitcase to start putting his stuff away.

"Did you not get over them during the summer?" His friend asked after a moment of quiet.

"It's complicated." He answered simply. Thankfully Heeseung didn't press on the matter but he knew that eventually he would tell his friend.

In the next days he met up with Soobin again, who looked at him worried but Beomgyu acted like he didn't notice, he cracked jokes made fun of the older when he mispronounced words, he tried acting normal. He also hung out a lot with his friends, now that he was rooming with Heeseung their dorm seemed to be the hang out spot for his 01' friends and their mates but Beomgyu wasn't going to complain. He liked the distraction.

Until the moment he had to see them again finally came, they hadn't seen each other in a week. The last time he knew he'd be busy so instead of just scenting the younger's wrist he went for the neck, making it last longer, not as long as it would if they were mated but just enough.

He eventually had to tell Heeseung where he was going and the look of pity his friend sent his way was the exact reason why he tried not to tell anyone in the first place.

The moment he saw them his heartbeat picked up. He was tired of feeling like that, anxious, on edge, scared and so, so tired. He sighed knowing he couldn't do anything about it at this point. "Hi." He said placing a fake smile on his face when he reached closer. Kai smiled making his heart squeeze in adoration, beautiful. Taehyun on the other hand, frowned.

The Alpha approached him closer than necessary, he was smelling him, all over him getting angrier at every sniff. He came dangerously close but Beomgyu couldn't find it in him to push him away, he just let the younger get frustrated as he smelled something he didn't like on Beomgyu.

"Who's that?" He finally asked angrily. Taehyun never let his alpha take over him, he rarely acted territorial, he had no problem sharing his belongings and never postured. Like Soobin, he didn't fit the textbook definition of Alpha. Seeing him like that made shivers run down his spine.

"What?" He found himself saying, he had never seen Taehyun that angry. Even when he punched him in the hospital he looked more tired than angry but right now, he was downright terrifying.

"Why do you smell like another Alpha?" He growled menacingly. Beomgyu was beyond confused at the way the Alpha was acting, Taehyun had no claim on him and Beomgyu always smelled like an Alpha, be it his mother, Soobin or Yeonjun he always had traces of an Alpha on him, so why was Taehyun getting worked up now?

"You're being weird Tyun-ah." He tried to joke his way out of this strange situation like he always does but it seemed to only anger the Alpha more. Taehyun grabbed the front of his shirt and angrily burried his face against Beomgyu's scent gland, replacing Heeseung's scent with his own. Beomgyu was too stunned to react, he felt an overwhelming sense of comfort, calm, love rush through him. Only when he felt Taehyun nip at his neck did he finally snap back and shoved him off him. "What the fuck." He exclaimed looking at Kai who looked shocked but not surprised.

Taehyun growled loud and menacing making Beomgyu freeze, arms dropping to his sides limp. At first he was confused as to why he felt like he couldn't move but at the same time completely relaxed, then it hit him. Taehyun made him submit to him, it wasn't easy for an Alpha to make a Beta submit the way an omega would but Taehyun did it. Beomgyu's stomach dropped, he never experienced that, omegas always talked about how awful it was to be unable to control their own bodies because an alpha had told them to, he never wished to experience it.

"Let's go somewhere private." Kai's voice sounded like he was so far away when he could see him right in front of him. Taehyun was still fuming but started walking without looking back, Kai took his hand making him snap out of the daze he was in. He knew he was shaking, he hated it. Kai's hand was pulling him towards a dorm he never went before but he couldn't register his surroundings.

He was sat on a bed, head slowly clearing he then realized where he was. Kai and Taehyun's dorm in the mated pair building. He tried not let his face show how devastated that made him feel, to know that they could live their happy little mated life together without him. They were better off with Beomgyu out of their lives if Kai didn't need to be scented so regularly they probably would've lost contact already.

He looked up to see the two talking quietly, Taehyun still looked agitated and mad while Kai just looked sad. He couldn't hear what they were talking about, his ears were still ringing but he knew they were talking about him. He rubbed his hands on his face to clear his head.

"Never do that again." Beomgyu said coldly breaking the argument the two seemed to be having. They turned to look at him.

"I'm sorry." Taehyun apologized at least he actually looked apologetic. Beomgyu scoffed.

"Fuck you. You had no right." He spat out meanly. He ignored the tears that started to fill Kai's eyes to see Taehyun ready to growl again but stopped himself.

"You're mine. I have every right." He said just as meanly. Bullshit Beomgyu thought, where did that come from.

"I don't remember agreeing to you being my Alpha, Taehyun. I'm Kai's mate not yours." He said bitterly.

"You're mine!" Taehyun made a move to get closer but Kai stopped him.

"What he means is that you're his mate too. Not just me. Us three we're all-" Kai didn't need to finish for Beomgyu to understand. He laughed in disbelief, that was even worse than he had thought. He was both their mates, it hurt even more. Both his mates would rather push him aside, not just one.

"And nobody thought it would be a good idea to tell me? " Tears ran freely down his face, he didn't care anymore, he hoped they felt bad seeing him like this. He was so tired and hurt, he wanted to run away and never see them again. They probably would like that, get to be together just the two of them.

"We wanted to tell you but after i went to the hospital it looked like you didn't want to be with us so we thought that just the scenting would be okay for the both of us." Kai said in the smallest voice he ever heard, he almost felt bad.

"So you just assumed i hated you and being your mate. It never occurred to you that maybe i thought that you didn't want to be with me because you're already mated? Never thought about how hard it was to see you two and feel like i wasn't needed there. I fell in love with you two the moment i met you but i tried to keep that shit to myself because i knew i could never have either of you, you guys mated and i needed time to myself only to find out i unintentionally rejected Kai. I wished i could've been happy to have at least one of you but it only felt worse.

Like even the one who was supposed to be mine wasn't, i was just there to keep him alive. Because he has his mate and I'm just the Beta that had the misfortune to have a bond with a mated omega. But now you tell me that you're also my mate. Did you hate the thought of being with me that much? You'd rather keep it to yourself since you didn't feel rejected, that's better than telling me i was your mate. Fuck you. You should've told me, reject me, break the bond. Why do you keep me around if you don't want me!"

"We thought you didn't want to be with us but we still- " Kai repeated fueling Beomgyu's anger.

"I asked you if you wanted the bite and you said no. You're the ones who thought that i didn't want you? I can't believe you. You were the ones always pushing me away then you have the audacity to act like I'm yours just because of a bond i can't even feel." Beomgyu was breathing heavily, he didn't wait for an answer when he walked away slamming the door behind him.

He barely saw where he was going, eyes blurry with tears but he made it to safe to Soobin's place. He let himself in and immediately collapsed on the couch, he knew Soobin was at work right now so he just laid there, crying untill he fell asleep.

He woke with gently hands running in his hair, he inhaled deeply. He was on Yeonjun's lap. "What time is it?" He groaned burying his face in the alpha's lap.

"It's 6pm." Yeonjun whispered never stopping his hand. "Are you hungry? Soobin is coming with takeout soon, he bought that weird fish dish you like." Beomgyu didn't feel like eating, he didn't feel like moving or breathing or living. He was so tired, he just wanted all this to stop.

He only groaned back, closed his eyes again and just bathed in the calming scent of the older, they often bickered and teased each other but he knew that he could count on Yeonjun, they've known each other for years, he was family just as much as Soobin was. He could be vulnerable with him without fear of being judged.

Not long after he heard the front door open, neither made a move to look at the alpha that was approaching them, he felt the two alpha kiss quickly and greet each other over him. He always envied the older's relationship, even after all they went through they were as strong as in the beginning .

He sighed and sat up, freeing Yeonjun's legs. Soobin finished placing the food on the table and sat down. The two alphas were sitting on both his sides, surrounding him with calming scents, protecting him implicitly. He always liked to joke that they acted like his parents but right now he was glad they cared for him that way.

"Do you feel like talking?" Soobin asked softly after a while of silent eating.

"What do you know." He winced hearing his voice crack.

"We don't know much but I'm guessing it has to do with Taehyun and Kai." Yeonjun answered. Beomgyu nodded not knowing where to start.

"I met with them to scent Kai like we've been doing since he got sick." He started playing with a piece of fish in his plate. "Taehyun he-" he couldn't believe what he was about to say, he still hadn't completely wrapped his head around everything that happened. "He growled at me. I couldn't move, it felt weird i didn't like it." He shakily whispered.

At the corner of his eye he could see Yeonjun's grip tighten around his spoon. He smiled softly seeing his Hyung react that way for him.

"Why would he do that? Taehyun is a pretty level headed dude. I don't think I've ever seen him mad or let his Alpha talk for him." Soobin asked genuinely surprised. Everyone who knew Taehyun would be surprised.

"I smelled like Heeseung, he's my roommate now so it's normal but- then he said i was his which was real weird until Kai said i was also Taehyun's mate." By the look on the two Alphas faces it was news to them too. He kind of felt relieved that he wasn't the only one who didn't see this coming.

"Why didn't they say anything? That's so dangerous, for all three of you." Soobin frowned, Beomgyu leaned back laughing bitterly again as his vision blurred again.

"They said it looked like i didn't want them so they didn't say anything. " A single tear was shed. "Which is fucking stupid. I asked Kai if he wanted the bite. He said no. I did everything i could to make him feel wanted. They're just hiding behind that excuse to hide the fact that they don't actually want me as their mate "

"Don't say that " Yeonjun scolded without any heat.

"What am i supposed to think? How am i supposed to believe that they don't hate me for coming in between them. I feel so bad when I'm around them, it's excruciating seeing them so happy together while i just sit there like a third wheel." They didn't answer, only shared worried looks before Soobin wrapped his arm around him. Beomgyu let his weight fall against his cousin.

The rest of the night was spent with lots of cuddling, a movie playing in the background untill he fell back asleep in the comforting arms of the alphas.

He woke up with a fever, that's what you get when he go out without a jacket he thought to himself as he sat up in the bed. He could hear Yeonjun and Soobin talking quietly in the kitchen but he didn't have the strength the move, opening his eyes felt like the hardest thing so he just didn't, he laid there unmoving trying to stop his thoughts from spiraling.

He didn't move when Soobin came to tell him that they were leaving for work and there was food in the fridge for him. He stayed in bed all day, the same way he did that summer. Classes started in two days, Beomgyu had to gather the courage to go back to his dorm.

He finally got up to eat something, if Yeonjun saw that he didn't eat what they left him he'd pester him to no end. He entered his dorm quietly. Heeseung and Jake were laying in the alpha's bed watching a movie. They looked up when they noticed him, Jake frowned immediately at his state.

"Your friends asked about you. They looked-" Heeseung started but Beomgyu didn't want to hear it.

"I don't care what they looked like."

"I'm guessing yesterday didn't go well."

"You could say that." He sighed and threw himself in his bed.

His first class of the semester wasn't that bad, he managed to stay awake the entire time despite his eyes burning because of the fever he still hadn't managed to get down. He ended up in the cafeteria eating with Heeseung, Jeongin and Jimin, talking about their schedule, the professors they had that year. Normal university student talk, it felt good to talk about normal stuff and not constantly worrying.

His peace was interrupted when he heard Kai scream for Taehyun making his table turn but before Beomgyu could see anything he felt a body collide with his. Taehyun on top of him looking delirious smelling stronger than he ever had before. He was starting his rut, he saw the younger open his mouth to let his fangs be seen, he closed his eyes waiting for the stabbing pain of getting bitten run through him but in never did.

He opened his eyes to see Yeonjun and Soobin holding the younger alpha who would not let Beomgyu go. He could feel his mate's breath against his neck making him shake violently. The smell of rut on the younger making him choke every time he inhaled. "Taehyun please stop." He tried weakly. They stared at each other intensely before Taehyun finally released his grip on him.

The alpha was immediately pulled away from him by the security who would transport him to the heat rooms and most likely would ask him if he wanted to press charges. He laid there on the floor having no strength to move, he felt Soobin pull him up in a sitting position where he could see Kai kneeling in front of him looking terrified.

"Are you okay?" The omega asked him shakily. "I tried to stop him. I'm so sorry. I didn't know-" he rambled but was stopped by Yeonjun's hand on his shoulder.

"It's okay Kai. Why don't you go to Taehyun he probably needs you right now." Yeonjun said but the conversation felt so far away.

"He's just been so agressive then we-we fought. I don't know if he wants me to help him."

"He does. Any argument you guys have going on right now is on pause because he can't think rationally right now." He guessed that Kai nodded. "Take that with you." He felt Yeonjun take the hoodie he had taken off earlier, he almost moved to stop the older but then he thought again, the alpha in Taehyun needed him. At least some part of the younger cared.

Once the omega left Beomgyu stood up, he kept his eyes down hating all the attention on him. He took his bag and hastily told his friends he'd see them later before taking off not looking back. He was still pretty shaken up but he could feel the two Alphas behind him so he knew he'd be safe.

He finally stopped and sat on a bench out of breath. "At least we know that the wolf gives a fuck about marking me." He joked humourlessly.

"Gyu.." Soobin said concerned.

"I know, i need to have a calm conversation with them but i can't do that when all Taehyun does is harass me." Beomgyu huffed.

"When he's done with his rut you guys are going to talk and we'll be there to calm anyone that needs to be calmed." Yeonjun wasn't asking, as the oldest Alpha of their group he always had that kind of authority and no one had ever questionned it. He nodded, shoulders relaxing.

"My mom came over yesterday she brought food for us." Soobin changed subject. Beomgyu didn't look forward to the confrontation but it had to be done.

It was only the first week of classes but Beomgyu was already drowning in work. He was typing the end of his nth assignment when his phone went off. Soobin texted him to get to his apartment now to talk with Kai and Taehyun. Beomgyu was startled at the suddenness, he knew it was coming but he never really was actually prepared for it.

Here goes nothing, he thought as he entered the Alphas house. In the living room was Kai and Soobin sitting on the couch while Taehyun and Yeonjun sat on the floor on the other side of the table. Beomgyu sat down making sure to be closer to his family.

"Taehyun go ahead." Yeonjun broke the intense silence. The youngest Alpha took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry for the way i acted. It was out of line and I'm ashamed of myself for letting my wolf treat the most important people of my life badly." He looked and smelled genuinely sorry. He saw Kai look down at his lap nodding.

"It's okay, you didn't mean it." He whispered a soft smile playing on his face. Soobin turned to look at him but he didn't know what to say. Does he forgive him? Should he ask for more information because it seemed that Taehyun had been violent with Kai too.

"Now explain yourselves. Why didn't you tell Beomgyu he was your mate too untill it became dangerous for your health." Soobin said sternly. Taehyun and Kai shared a look.

"We genuinely thought that Beomgyu didn't have feelings for us. At first we thought he knew about the bond but didn't want to do anything about it so we just went along with it. Then we mated and hoped that if a bond was created he'd feel it and we could talk but he started avoiding us." Taehyun started.

"When i got sick we learned that he didn't know but he was still so cold to both of us. It felt like he really didn't want us, that's why i still haven't recovered totally." Kai continued.

"And why my Alpha was acting like that. It's a symptom of the rejection." Taehyun finished. Beomgyu finally felt like talking.

"You kept something really big from me but i was never mad at you guys. I was hurt. I am hurt because you never bothered talking to me about what you guys felt or thought. I did everything i could to make you feel better, i even asked if you wanted the bite." Yeonjun placed his hand on his thigh in support and immediately saw Taehyun's nostrils flare up but otherwise stayed still.

"When you asked me. The way you said it, it felt like you asked out of obligation. I didn't want to trap you in a bond with me if you didn't actually want it, that's why i said i was fine with scenting only. I want to mate you so bad it hurts." Kai defended himself playing with his sleeves.

"Why didn't you talk to me? Ask me? Tell me how you felt? You two made it seem like having me as a mate was a burden." He could see the way his words impacted the two but he had to continue. "What stopped you from talking to me? We spent more than a week living under the same roof it never occurred to you that since i didn't know about the bond i couldn't know you wanted me?"

"We should've talked to you. I'm sorry." Taehyun apologized again and Kai nodded in agreement.

"What do we do now?" Beomgyu asked after a moment of silence. He knew that it would be hard to immediately jump in a relationship but something had to be done for the alpha's aggressiveness and the omega's pain. Beomgyu didn't like to admit it but his beta also was bothered, his depressive state wasn't just because he was fighting with his friends and his fever wasn't just from a cold.

"Can we mate?" Kai asked shyly almost hiding behind Soobin. Taehyun nodded before adding.

"Please. We'll make it up to you for hurting you like that, we really didn't mean it. We love you." The desperation in the alpha's voice made his beta wake up inside of him. Screaming at him to just say yes and forget everything that happened. He looked up at Soobin silently asking for his opinion.

"They need it and you need to feel the bond. A mating doesn't force you to forgive them immediately or put you in a relationship with them." The older reasoned, that made sense so he nodded.

"Okay." He sighed. "Let's do this."

Soobin and Yeonjun left the living room to start making dinner and leave the three to themselves. It was awkward, nobody knew what to do first. Beomgyu sighed and stood up.

"Who wants to go first?" He asked and Kai stood up abruptly making his hair bounce. When he realized how eager he had seemed the omega blushed deeply. "Come here." He gestured to the younger to come closer. "Where do you want it?" He asked placing his hand on the omega's cheek.

Kai pointed at the left side of his neck, the side that wasn't claimed by Taehyun's mark. He exhaled and dived towards the younger's neck without hesitation. He bit down hard the scent gland making Kai whimper and grab on his shirt, Beomgyu had to wrap his arm around the omega's waist because he could feel the younger's knees giving out.

He pulled away after lapping the blood that tried to dirty the younger's shirt, to see the dazed look on his face and the small smile on his face. Kai shook his head to collect his thoughts before burying his face in the beta's neck, rubbing his cheek against the scent gland then biting. At first all he felt was pain from the skin breaking under the omega's fangs, then warmth washed over him, the overwhelming need to cry in relief but he didn't know if that came from him or Kai.

When Kai reluctantly pulled away, Beomgyu had to physically stop himself from kissing him. He couldn't right now. Instead he turned to look at Taehyun who was looking at them in awe. Beomgyu gestured at him to come closer with his head, when the alpha was close enough he let Kai's neck go and placed his hand on Taehyun's hip.

"Can you bite on the same side?" He asked the alpha wanting the two marks to be intertwined. Yes he had dreamed about having their marks and yes he wanted them intertwined because it would look pretty but now Beomgyu didn't feel ashamed of his past thoughts, not when Taehyun was looking at him like that. The younger nodded and immediately got to work, he felt the same sensations he had with Kai. He felt safe, loved, he wasn't alone anymore. That empty feeling he had felt since he presented completely disappeared and he could only sigh in relief.

He bit down Taehyun's neck the same way he did for the Omega, covering the virgin skin of his neck with his bite. He liked seeing his bite in them, he could easily get used to it. "Thank you." Taehyun whispered, Beomgyu could only nod.

They sat down on the couch, Beomgyu in the middle with only their shoulders touching. It felt natural, the contact, he felt calm. He thought he would feel overwhelmed because sensing your mate's emotions in addition to your own looked like it could be confusing but Beomgyu found it easy to bathe in Taehyun's relief and Kai's excitement.

After they ate dinner, the two asked him if it would be okay to see each other regularly for hang outs or study dates, Beomgyu agreed easily because all he had wanted since the beginning was everything to go back the way they were and they were getting there.

They did in fact hung out a lot, arcades, cinema, restaurants or just in their dorms. It felt like nothing ever changed but the mark on their necks. When they studied at the library, Beomgyu could feel it when Kai was struggling with an assignment without seeing him frown, he knew when Taehyun was spending too much time at the gym to relieve stress.

It didn't feel like someone was stomping on his heart when he saw them holding hands, he didn't look away when they quickly kissed in front of him before leaving, he didn't feel like crying when they looked at eachother smiling with understanding because he felt it and they looked at him just the same.

After a month, Beomgyu decided that they had finally made it up to him. They comunicated better, with him and to each other. They never made him feel like an outsider anymore always including him in everything they did or talked about. They promised to make efforts and they did so Beomgyu decided that it was time to reward them.

He was on his way to their dorm for a movie night with fried chicken, paid by Taehyun because for some reason his Alpha pushed him to feed his mates, thinking about what he could do to make them understand that he'd like to take their relationship to the next step when he finally got an idea. He was just going to kiss them. They usually hug to greet each other, their wolves really liked the physical contact and the humans too, so this time Beomgyu was going to kiss them instead.

He let himself in the dorm as they had given him a spare key, it had been hard for the secretary to understand that he was also their mate but wasn't living there but really needed a key, the last part was Kai's saying. The moment they saw him they stood up smiling to hug him like he had anticipated.

Taehyun got closer first, before the alpha could react he grabbed his face and placed a soft kiss on his lips, he could feel that he was surprised but quickly relaxed and kissed back, he felt a wave of giddiness rush through him. He smiled pulling back before going to kiss Kai too who immediately reciprocated but this time Beomgyu felt relief coming from the bound.

"What movie are we watching?" The beta asked after pulling away from the omega and sat down on the bed. The two didn't answer him just looked at eachother for a moment before joining him on the bed at both his sides.

"I love you." They both said at the same time making Beomgyu chuckle.

"I love you too. Both of you." He said sincerely. He relaxed back against their bodies feeling content and loved. Everything he had asked for.

Yeah. He liked having two mates.
