Work Text:

another walk to the lift, another long ride to the top of the building. but as the door came to her vision, it was as if fatigue and contentment melts inside hyunjin. for as soon as she keys the password and enters—like clockwork...

"oh, who's home?!" a shuffle of footsteps as she balances to take off her heels, and then a head poking from the hallway's corner, a wide smile on that squirrel-like face. "baby!"

hyunjin would never fail to let out her reply, "yeobo..." both she and jisung would stretch out their hands, and he gives her a flurry of kisses over her cheeks as soon as she’s in his hold. then all is well again in the world—it’s like she busies herself and walks her legs sore the whole day just to enjoy this moment.

jisung pulls away, hand still cupping her face. with her in the lower foyer, the height differences gave him some advantage to adore her. "my baby is very pretty," he murmured, by way of greeting.

hyunjin laughs. hard to imagine that this is once the man she chased through the entire university complex just because he couldn't shut his trap and she couldn't stand his sneering face.

"I'm very sleepy," she mumbles. jisung pecks her one more time, then offers his hand to help her up.

"go wash up," he says, patting her on the back. "shall I wash you up?"

he yelps as hyunjin elbow him, and leaves her to undress her coat and jewellery for the kitchen with a chuckle.

"how are the babies?" hyunjin asks.

"all fast asleep," jisung called back.

"even changbin?"

"he is."

hyunjin joins him in the kitchen, amused at the neat bow of his apron over the casual t-shirt and trainer. she washes her hands, and pours out some water. jisung kept his work on filling the cupboards with clean plates.

"the kid would barely sleep even for schooldays—and he thinks that because he's studying from home now..."

"we went to the park today. chan exhausted him."

hyunjin smiled, anything would be if the baby is involved—the boy could walk the whole shopping mall and set off for round. "should do that every other day," she hummed. "woojin?"

"ah, he's still out. well, you-you can't blame if he doesn't sleep during these hours anymore!" jisung blurts at her sharp stare. "his debut is in three months..."

"oh well." sometimes she finds jisung and their eldest son on the dinner table and five o'clock in the morning, sheets of lyrics strewn all over between half-drunk americanos, and slurring conversations concerning nothing about it.

hyunjin quietly walks away from the kitchen, crossing the broad living room to the bedroom areas. she had but reached out for the doorknob, and even then jisung had come up behind her back.

"come wash first." he sharply reminded. hyunjin grins, not the least guilty.

"i just wanna see channie..."

"and he will still be there when you're clean from all them dust and virus, okay?" jisung pecks the side of her head. some whines ensue, but with her lagged state and some clicked tongue, jisung easily pulls her away towards their room.

"come now, I'll help you wipe your makeup off and scrub your back... do you want yujucha? ah no, that'll be too sour—hot cocoa? it'll help you sleep better..."

hyunjin smirks lazily. "lee jisung-ssi?"

"hmm?"

"have you washed?"

"no," there wasn’t even a beat in his response. hyunjin pulls him to a stop, turning and then pressing herself closer before her husband. her hand reached up, pulling his glasses away gently, then folding and hooking it on his apron pocket.

"shall we do it together?" she said lowly.

she can feel jisung's breath hitching and then exhaling into a nervous laugh, but still he whispers, "aigoo, our baby..."

her lips press upon his, more a plastering touch than a kiss. but as she leans away his arms rests better upon her hips, and his mouth easier in molding with hers. she would never tire of searching and nibbling his lips which receive hers so well--there's never a better taste after him. his hold was all warm and soft and home and musk; somewhat new because she had been gone so long away from him all day, but familiar from the thousand of times she’s soaked it in.

breathless, jisung pulls away, serotonin fully charged on his smile with the hug tugged closer. hyunjin could purr.

"kiss me more?" she said in her lilting English.

"o-oh yes, baby!!" another peck, and then her arms were lead around his shoulder, and easily he holds under her thigh and let her jump to wrap herself around him.

"those home gym equipment really paid off, huh?" hyunjin chuckles.

"I did say it would," jisung said smugly, and hyunjin pats his shoulder loudly, letting him walk towards the master bedroom.

"you look like a cat," jisung commented.

after nuzzling a sleeping channie to her heart’s content, in her blanket and pyjamas, hyunjin does look like one. but then her hands pull out of the swaddle, demanding for her husband.

"come sleep," she murmured.

jisung grins, obliging to sit by her side of the bed. "i have to go to the studio," he said. all dressed well in his fitting jeans and baggy shirt—necessary for his good mood and creativity.

hyunjin would spend her mornings with chan and changbin while he sleeps, then to the broadcasting station by midday when he wakes. and then she returns at night, and jisung would leave for work until six in the morning. somehow, as if a sparrow and an owl, they manage in watching the days of their boys and each other.

"i haven't slept with you in a long while," hyunjin said, completely forgetting how they cuddled on sunday (just yesterday!) until late afternoon.

"it might be a comfort if you know, that even if i sleep in the day it's very cold without you."

smooth tongue. hyunjin pats his rounded cheek. "you turn the air conditioner on."

"that's right," jisung nods, shameless through and through.

she plays with the strands before his brows, ruining his styling because he wouldn't mind the slightest. jisung pouts out his lips, demanding his kiss. hyunjin giggles, then lifts herself up to give it.

"good night."

"good night," jisung replied, pecking her some more in the cheeks. he rose from the bed, taking hyunjin's empty mug of cocoa with him. "sleep well, my sweet hyunnie."
