Chapter Text
going to that carnival turned his life upside down.
it was a series of domino-like effects. watching that performance led to dancing on stage, to catching the eyes of the performers, to going to their afterparty, to being invited into their cast to finally living with fangs and blood. but they hadn't belonged to him.
of them all, five had canines longer than the average person.
the remaining two— that he was a part of— often bore pinpricks on their necks.
the eldest of their family had a seemingly cold and stern exterior, but he only showed warm eyes and kind smiles to him. the next was all teases and kisses, bearing a smug smirk to match the mischievous glint in his eyes. the one after him was the absolute sweetest, like an overexcited puppy to come back home to.
he was the oldest of the younger half, with biting remarks and sunshine smiles. younger than him was the dimpled leader of the troupe, mentally strong and rather mature despite his age. the youngest of the bunch was a prankster, yet still needy for love and longing for affection.
lastly, there was the mediator, right in between the older's and the younger's groups, who was also everyone's favourite person in their family. his being exuding comfortable vibes, it was not a stretch nor was it a lie to claim him to be the epitome of softness.
they were his found family.
they were equally his as much as he was theirs.
the music was still ringing in his ears, echoing deafeningly, and the loud cheers from the crowd outside were not helpful in subsiding his growing headache either. as soon as he was offstage, his legs gave out from under him, and he slid ungracefully against the wall to slump safely onto the ground. it was a contrast of elegance between him now and him during his performance that he just returned from. his eyelids lowered from fatigue as he breathed heavily, fanning himself with his trembling hands.
a cold sensation to his warm face caused his eyes to open abruptly, shivers to travel across his body, hand gripping alarmedly the wrist of whoever is it that was holding the cool water bottle. surprised eyes dripping of kindness met his own wide ones, his mouth parted open.
"you did amazing out there, sunoo." his hand bearing the drink lowered itself to give the bottle to the other. "here."
the fox-like boy took it, uncapped it and drank big gulps from it, already feeling his headache becoming numb and less of a problem. in his peripheral view, he watched as his fellow performer took a seat next to him.
"sunghoon hyung. thank you." he received a hum in response, fingers that weren't his fixing his front strands that were either plastered to his forehead, or threatening to poke his eyes out. "you aren't next?"
"nope."
before he could continue their impromptu conversation, a pair of hands roamed around his costume to play with his sleeves and accessories, and as he opened his mouth to talk, his cheek was cupped gently by a hand so cold. still, he melted in its hold, eyes droopy despite the drastic change in temperature.
he stared at the older as the distance between them decreased little by little. he truly was stunning, his sunghoon hyung— fluffy hair yet to be stained with sweat fell gracefully over his forehead, eyes shining with a soft gleam even in the dark, and his moles that littered all over his face adorably.
sunoo still believed he himself was the prettiest, though.
in his admiration, he hadn't noticed how close they had gotten in a few seconds difference. only after his lips felt feathery brushes had he realized, a soft pink growing on his cheeks. as both of their eyes closed and leaned into each other, he hoped in the back of his head that the older had not seen his light blush. their lips met each other in a whisper, as if a rumour, a secret. he let the taller take the lead, angling his head the way he wished for, kissing his top lip and nipping on his lower one.
their hands breached their invisible bubble of privacy (such thing never really existed in their family, though), limbs entangling in each other as if creating knots in threads. a shy tongue prodded timidly on his lower lip to ask for entrance, and sunoo was about to comply until he heard a whine on the side.
he separated from sunghoon, despite his mouth missing that familiar pressure. it shined in the dark from the offered saliva against the dark red hue. the sight made the onlooker gulp sharply, throat dry.
"ni-ki." his murmur was deafening in the silence, an echo of the audience's claps subsiding.
fascinated, he watched as the younger boy start off with slow steps towards them, then finally flying into the one beside him as soon as his arms were open to welcome him. ni-ki melted into his embrace.
arms were wrapped around his growing frame, his long blond hair tickling the shown surface of skin, pale and cold. their youngest had his own limbs pressed in between the wall and his hyung's back, while his legs were searching for a comfortable position that would not make it awkward. they shifted a lot under sunoo's observing gaze— curiosity found within— and their proud dancer pressed their bodies close together, eliminating the remaining space in between.
the fox-like boy's stomach churned with an unknown feeling while looking at them, unsure if he wanted to be at one of their places or to just— join them.
ni-ki's head found its way resting on the other's shoulder, relishing in the faint strumming of a calm and serene heartbeat underneath his ear pressed against the juncture. in mere seconds, his own mouth met in contact with sunghoon's neck, the latter flinching slightly from feeling something cold against his warming body.
he mouthed at the area, occasionally licking and sucking lightly. when fingers weaved their way through his hair, his ministrations paused and his closed eyes opened, but his body still stayed slotted to the other's.
"baby," sunghoon crooned, voice lower than usual. sunoo watched as the younger on his lap let out an inhumane sound akin to a whine, amusing the older. "what got you so worked up all of a sudden?"
he felt slightly out of place, just observing the intimate moment of the two glued together, but a hand landing on his knee made him feel as included. he shuffled closer.
"i wanted to..." his mutters were hidden in the crook of the older's neck, slightly red in some areas.
"speak up, baby." he lightly pushed back ni-ki just so they could look at each other, and sunoo had to wonder faintly why he was looking back and forth from sunghoon to him. "let him hear what you just said too."
oh.
"i wanted to..." he licked his lips, big dark eyes locking onto him. "wanted to kiss sunoo hyung first after his first performance with us."
oh.
"so you were jealous hyung got to kiss sunoo before you?" he let his mouth roam around the side of their youngest's face, peppering kisses and giving his love. overwhelmed, ni-ki could barely gasp out his affirmation. the latter felt a mouth latch onto his own, letting his eyes close in bliss and allowing the oldest of them three to swallow his noises under the half-lidded eyes of his initial target.
"sunghoon hyung—!" the curtain to their secluded spot drew with a dissonance of metallic sounds. sunoo tensed before his surprised stare landed on a certain dimpled cat-like boy standing at the entrance he had created. "oh."
"hi kitten, searching for me?" he spoke against the temple of their first dancer whose eyes were currently fixated on something. their latest recruit into their group pretended to not know he was being stared at.
"yeah, you're up soon. stop overwhelming riki."
their ice prince stood, relinquishing their youngest into sunoo's care instead, both dancers' arms wrapping around the other's frames automatically. he left to prepare for his own performance, not leaving before meeting the mouths of the other present three people with his own, of course.
"you're leaving me with two vampires?" was muttered from sunoo against the feeling of another mouth. there was a teasing lilt to his words, because, truth be told, he didn't really mind. the older separated from his mouth to let out chuckles that blessed their ears. ni-ki scooted closer to him after seeing the space made from the two. he paid no mind to their conversation, instead brushing his lips to his fellow dancer's neck, his fingers wrapped loosely around his throat, pressing softly and playing with it.
"i've managed with five of them at the same time, lovely. i'm sure you'll survive just fine with these two."
"go now, hyung. i can hear heeseung hyung finishing his song."
and then the curtain slid to a close, hiding the tall silhouette of sunghoon, a devious smirk found instead on the leader's dimpled face. sunoo thought that he really seemed like trouble incarnate at this moment (but, then again, when didn't he?). he slid inside the small space in between ni-ki and him, comfortably crushing his human bones. their limbs were entangled with each other's, just like their invisible threads of fate.
"jungwon-ah." he hummed in response, its vibration reverberating against the dancer. "where are jay hyung and jake hyung?"
head leaned against the wall behind, sunoo couldn't see his young leader properly, only seeing tuffs of his dark indigo hair. the dyed strands moved softly against his chin until he was met with squinted eyes and pouty lips that practically begged to be kissed. the thought perished as soon as it came.
"you're thinking about other people when you already have riki and i in your lap?" his cheeks became dusty with a pale pink shade, ignoring the pair of lips that came in contact with his collarbones underneath messy blond hair.
well, when he phrased it like that...
"you can't do that, hyung." his mouth came close to his earlobe, biting it lightly and playing with it. "focus on us."
a whimper escaped past his abused lips before it got greedily swallowed by jungwon who had lowered his mouth to fit with his own. ni-ki whined at seeing their connected lips, pressing his body impossibly closer to sunoo's. with gasps and low hums filling his ears, he peppered more kisses, sucking and licking lightly.
his teeth ached suddenly and his eyes grew red at seeing his work done in a lighter shade. he felt a kiss being set onto his temples, fingers pushing his hair behind his ear. a teasing look was plastered on his dimpled hyung's face, but his dark eyes held another meaning.
"he'll allow it, riki. just ask." softly murmured against him before gently leading him back to the expanse of skin shown at the neck.
sunoo felt a tongue just licking and what seemed to be teeth just gently pressing into and grazing his neck. he understood what was going to happen after jungwon laid on his other free shoulder to gaze at ni-ki. his hand crept up to massage their youngest's own neck as a subtle message.
i'm allowing it. you can bite me. i trust you.
he silently braced himself for the impact, before feeling two punctures on his bare neck.
