Heroes vs. Cheerios

Featuring: Blaine, Tina, Sam, Kurt and as many other characters as I can figure into the storyline.;)

Welcome to Warbler City, it’s a bit dark and seedy at times; but it’s an exciting place to live.  It has its very own super heroes after all….

Dressed as their favorite made-up heroes from their school superhero club, Night Bird aka Blaine Anderson, Asian Persuasion aka Tina Cohen-Chang and Blonde Chameleon aka Sam Evans are celebrating their upcoming graduation with an unauthorized, after hours sleep-in at “Finn Hudson High School”.

“What should we do next guys?” Blaine asked excitedly.

“Let’s break into Dragon Lady’s office and see what secrets we can find” Tina said.

Sam and Blaine laugh and rushed down the hall.

At Principal Sue’s office, they looked at the security panel.

“Damn, this looks like something out of a high security vault.” Tina said.

Suddenly, the power blinked out and the door popped open for them.

“Awesome!” Sam yelled.

They snuck in quietly, not worrying about why the power was out.  As they did so, they bumped into the Principal’s trophy case, causing it to suddenly pop open and reveal a secret door.

“Huh, a secret room, like something out of Harry Potter!” Blaine said as he leaned in the door.

Tina pushed him inside and they all started looking around.

***

Meanwhile, a shadowy figure walked away from the cut power lines to the high school.  He knew the master manipulator of the city worked in there and had all kinds of secrets stashed away.

He was; the Gasser, one of the newest villains in town, looking like a nerd in his lab coat with gas mask and eye mask all in grey.  Wanting to endear himself, he’d found a leak in Sue’s organization and planned to exploit it.  He laughed and headed into the school and directly to the principal’s office.

***

Lurking nearby, the city’s heroic champions were out on patrol.

The Darkness appeared to float on the nearby rooftop, and said.  “Looks like something fishy is going on at your old high school.” Darkness power allowed them to roll out a smoke screen that made it seem like they were floating and fuzzy, making it very hard for anyone fighting against Darkness.  The outfit was all black, obscuring body shape and amplifying Darkess’ true ‘mystery man’ persona.

Their junior partner, Shriek, looked at his fuzzy form in the night and nodded his head.  He was the opposite, dressed in flashy metallic yellow.  He thought back to when he attended the high school, before his powers had suddenly kicked in, which had resulted in the rubble next to the school.

***

Flashback:

Kurt Hummel was leaving the school, using the back exit, when two bullies from the football team, who had been harassing him for most of his high school career, suddenly appeared.

“Look it’s the fag again!”  Karofsky said with disgust.  He and his steroid taking friend leered at each other before rushing over to Kurt and grabbing him by his arms.

Kurt shook in terror, he thought he was free from these guys.

They looked at him, and then over at the parking garage by school and nodded to each other.

“We’re gonna give you just what you’ve been begging for buddy!”  Karofsky said.

“Please, let me go, I’ve never done anything to you guys, stop torturing me!”  Kurt practically begged.

Kurt realized they were taking him to the old security office in the garage and started to cry.  He thrashed around trying to break free.

“No, please don’t hurt me!”  He tried to yell, but Karofsky covered his mouth and dragged him to the unused dark box-like room.

Kurt bit his finger and tried yelling desperately for help.  “HELP!!  Someone…..  HELP ME!”

“Shut up kid, we’re gonna give you what you’ve been waiting for!  Two real men.”  They both laughed as Kurt started to shake even more.

Suddenly Karofsky ripped Kurt’s shirt off and started to pull on his pants.

Kurt thought he was going to pass out with fear, no one would ever find him.  He knew he was in trouble when the boys pulled their shirts up over their heads.

They punched him a few times and started roughing him up, laughing.  “What’s wrong pussy boy, we’re gonna give you what a fag like you wants.”

”I’ve….. I’ve never asked you for anything, leave me alone,”  Kurt stuttered.  He was practically hyperventilating, and his high-pitched voice was getting shriller and shriller.

Just as the bullies ripped open his pants, and started to pin Kurt down, his neck started to glow.

Suddenly, there was a bright light and Kurt was screaming as loudly as he could.  The sonic vibrations caused the garage to collapse on him and the two bullies burying them under 5 floors of parking garage.

Kurt didn’t know what happened until he was dug out of the rubble a day later.  The would-be rapists had been killed by falling debris, but Kurt miraculously survived uninjured, with the exception of his voice, which he’d lost from all the screaming.

Darkness was always on the look-out for strange happenings in town, with a sophisticated setup which scanned and notified them with bulletins.  Darkness hoped to find others with powers too, having learned their body gave off some strange energy signature, which only grew stronger when using their powers.  So the system also tracked for any trace of that.

In the hospital later that night, Kurt was visited by Darkness, and a partnership was formed,  Darkness taught him how to use his voice to stop others from being assaulted and raped, to protect others.  He was able to cause songs or vibrations with his voice that could knock out crooks or make them confused and dizzy and easy to take down, affecting their equilibrium.  After a few months of extensive training, and getting his ass handed to him over and over again, he was finally able to join Darkness.  Since then, he was out nights as the Shriek, helping to police the town.  Mostly they stopped petty crime, however Darkness was always on the lookout for information about the big boss lady in town and her schemes.

Shriek still didn’t know who Darkness was, but he was so grateful for them taking him under wing and training him.  They seemed to be very smart and driven.  Kurt had no idea who was under the costume or what ultimately their goals were for Warbler City.

Darkness and Shriek headed for the high school.

Tina, Sam and Blaine were looking at vials of glowing green chemicals in their principal’s secret lab room as a misty gas began to form around their feet.

“Did you guys hear something?”  Sam asked as he tripped and bumped into Blaine and Tina.

Suddenly, they noticed the thick mist around their ankles and jumped as they saw the Gasser in his mask and hood staring at them.

“Hello, kiddies” he said as he leered at them.  His gas gun slowly leaking thicker tendrils of smoke into the room.

Sam jumped in front of Tina to protect her; but only managed to trip them all and they crashed into a glass case with glowing vials, causing it to tumble down onto the floor and break open.  Mixing with the gas already there, creating a thick smokey fog that had all three coughing and choking.

The Gasser laughed as he started stuffing things into his sack, hoping something would be valuable or worthy of pissing off the town’s crime boss.

The kids began to pass out as they fell into the thick fog of gas on the ground.  The Gasser took a last look around and fled.

***

Darkness and Shriek arrived minutes later, finding the three kids, in spandex costumes, unconscious on the floor; just as the gassy cloud was spilling into the corridor.  “Oh no, there are injured kids in here!”  Shriek said.  He choked and gasped.

He used his voice to push the gas down the hall and away from them.

The two of them checked vitals on the kids and called an ambulance.  They seemed to be breathing better now that the gas has dissipated.  Darkness started exploring the room gathering information and taking photos.

Blaine blinked bleary-eyed at Shriek as he kneeled over him.  “Are you an angel?” he asked.  The bright costume blazing in his foggy brain, like a burst of sunlight across his eyes.

Shriek smiled at Blaine, stunned at how beautiful those hazel eyes of his were even with his mask on crookedly.

“You’ll be okay kid, medics are on the way” after he caught his breath.

Darkness was finishing up inspecting everything in the room as Shriek took care of the kids.  Darkness was the investigator of the duo.  Shriek wanted to help the kids.

Suddenly, all the lights came back on and a tall lanky blonde woman appeared.

“What are you all doing in my office AND in my special meditation room!” She squawked.

Shriek stared at her for a moment,  “Sue, you and your ‘mob’ got here rather quickly,” he said, as he looked at her cheer squad, The Cheerios.  All tough women and girls who would do anything their boss told them to do.  Sue controlled half the town, with her ladies ferreting information out of the important people.  They were master manipulators and black-mailers.

Sue Sylvester sneered at them, “Porcelain, you and your dark friend better get out of here before I have you arrested.”

Shriek laughed briefly, ignoring Sue and started to help the arriving medics load the teenagers onto gurneys.

Darkness hung back and watched as their listless bodies were taken to the ambulance. Darkness and Sue both noticed they were glowing faintly.

***

As they slipped away into the night, Darkness spoke softly,  “Kurt, you are going to need to check on these kids tomorrow night.  I don’t know what Sue had up her sleeve, but something tells me these three might need our help shortly.  I’m going to start analyzing what I took from Sue’s lab.”

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Blaine had snapped another restraint off, just by accidentally moving his arm.  He wasn’t fully conscious and aware of what he was doing.  Finally, the orderlies put double restraints on his arms and over his chest pinning him to the hospital bed.

He looked at Sam, but his face kept changing, like it was rubber or something.  Blaine kept blinking and shaking his head, thinking he was hallucinating.  He couldn’t figure out what was going on.

“I hope Tina’s okay” he said when Sam’s face seemed to stop moving.  Sam was pretty out of it, “I feel so weird dude, like I’ve got ants crawling all over me or something.  My body is all tingly, and not in a good way.”

Suddenly, Tina appeared in their room.  “What…. what are you doing up and about Tina?  Are you okay?” Blaine asked with panic in his voice.

“It’s the weirdest thing, I just told the nurses I was fine and wanted to check on you, and it was like I was able to persuade them it was a good idea…” Tina shook her head, maybe my costumed identity as Asian Persuasion is rubbing off on me, she thought “I still feel a bit odd… but how are you two doing?”

They all started talking excitedly about what happened.

“Was that an angel that saved us?”  Blaine spoke as his eyes glazed, remembering that heavenly body again.

“What about that crazy guy in the mask?”  Sam spluttered.

“I think that guy in the tight outfit was a super hero!”  Blaine said.  “He helped get me on a gurney and into the ambulance.  He had a nice ass, from what I could see… I mean, not that I was looking or anything…”

“A nice ass… but Blainey, I was sort of hoping…you and I…“ Tina stopped talking.

“You can always check out my ass,” Sam said, used to Blaine crushing on him.

“Wait!  A super hero!  I know we have some in town, but I never thought I’d meet one.  What was going on in Sue’s secret room by the way, looked like a science lab,” Tina said.

As the day wore on the three of them seemed to feel more like their normal selves and were hoping to be discharged.  Their parents had visited earlier and were all glad they were okay, but also a bit upset the kids were in the school after hours.

***

During the day, Kurt worked at his job, at the top fashion company in town, You Move Me Fashion.

He kept thinking about the kids from last night and hoped they were okay.  Darkness left shortly after they got them into ambulances for the night.

He was so thankful to have the hero in his life as a mentor, even if he didn’t really know who was under that outfit.  He wouldn’t have managed, without therapy and training, to understand his powers.  He could have really hurt someone he loved, like his dad, Burt.  The last couple years had been an amazing and unexpected change to his world and world view.  If not for Darkness, Kurt’s dad would have sent him away to some “safe school” after what happened, or never let him leave the house again.

I hope that “hazel-eyed hottie” is doing much better, God, his eyes were mesmerizing.  I could have stared at him all night, he thought.  He didn’t usually pay attention to things like that.  He dazed off into space for a while thinking about those eyes.

While Kurt was working his day job, Darkness had hacked into the hospital records and surveillance cameras and realized what was happening to the young trio.  It looked like their crime fighting family would be expanding soon, based on the clothes the kids were wearing last night and the surveillance film showing some pretty strange things occurring.

Blaine seemed to be awfully strong now, Sam’s features kept vibrating and changing, and Tina had convinced the nurses to let her visit the others for a bit until a doctor flipped out and ordered her back to her room.

Later that night, Darkness instructed Shriek to go to the hospital and meet the kids.  They had their own special team communicators.

Kurt was happy to check on them, but thought it was odd that Darkness would care that much about three random high school kids.

As he located the room of one of the kids, a Blaine Anderson, he used his voice to slowly float up to the third-floor window.  He could manage to leap, or sort of hover a bit, by focusing his voice on the ground on a smaller area instead of just belting it out.  It was hard and he couldn’t manage for long, but it helped in situations like this.

Kurt was thankful for the Darkness’ tech and how it had helped him to practice his abilities.

Seeing no one else in the room, he dropped through the window and shocked the cutie with the hazel eyes.

“Wha!  Who are you?”  Blaine yelped as he slowly grabbed the bar of his bed causing it to bend, in his fear.  He thought the person in his room looked familiar.

“Whoa! How am I doing that?  What is happening to me?” Blaine said, looking stunned at the twisted metal in his hand.

Shriek had been watching and sudden inspiration dawned on him as to why Darkness was interested.

“Hey, stud muffin,” Kurt said exaggerating his coolness factor.  He didn’t get to do that ever.  He was a fashion nerd through and through.

“It’s you! The angel I saw at school,” Blaine gushed.  “You are real!”  he sighed dreamily.

Kurt turned beet red at the angel comment.

“I’m pretty sweet, but I’m no angel,” he confidently said, while still blushing and laughing.

“I’m the Shriek, local man-about-town, superhero side-kick.”

Blaine couldn’t see Kurt’s face fully, his power kind of gave him a halo look around his head, but his piercing blue eyes Blaine could see just fine.  Along with the smoking hot body in the tight metallic gold spandex, it left little to the imagination.

“F…ff…ff..uck, you are so beautiful!” Blaine stuttered.  He was horrified he said that out loud.

They just smiled at each other, almost drooling.

***

Suddenly, the lights in the room dimmed and Darkness was there.

“Hello, I’m Darkness, and I believe you and your friends were exposed to something at the school last night.  Something that has given you each powers.  Judging by your costumes, I think you might like to join Shriek and I in trying to protect this town?”

“You’re inviting them to join us!?” Shriek gasped out.  “I thought we were a dynamic duo, not a mob of misfits.”

“Sue has a strangle hold on the town and a mob of her own, why shouldn’t we add in some help?” Darkness asked.

Shriek looked stunned for a bit, then looked at Blaine and said “well, at least one of them is super-hot and sexy.” winking at Blaine and flirting shamelessly, while still blushing a deep red color.

Blaine didn’t know what to say or do.  He was looking at the most attractive man he’d ever met in his life and being asked to join the two in fighting crime.  It was like a wet dream childhood fantasy.  He wasn’t sure what Tina and Sam would say. Oh hell, he knew they would jump at the chance.

He laughed and said, “I’m not too clear on anything right now, but I know my friends and I would love to help you all out!  Plus, you can never be too close to an angel,” he surprised himself by being so bold and winking at Shriek.

Shriek blushed again and sighed.  This kid was a smooth talker, that’s for sure, as his heart skipped a beat.

Darkness spoke, “Good, I’ve already gotten your two friends to agree.  I thought Shriek might make an impression on you!” Darkness said with a wink.

Kurt laughed self-consciously.

“The three of you should be able to check out of the hospital tomorrow sometime.  I’m giving you a communicator and we’ll meet tomorrow night at the high school stadium to run through some of your powers and abilities.” With that Darkness faded away and the lights in the room turned back to full brightness.

Shriek lingered behind.  “Well, we know you’ve got some strong arms there cutie pie.  I wonder what else you can do?” he smirked.

Blaine flashed a cheeky grin.  “Give me your number and I’ll gladly let you know what else I’m capable of.”  Then he turned scarlet and looked down at his hands in embarrassment.  What was going on with him?

Shriek just looked at Blaine; and shrugged.  Pulling out one of his business cards for work from his utility pouch, he shoved it in his hands and reached down to run his hand through Blaine’s wavy hair, gel still showing through it, but long worn out by the night’s events and the wet fog cloud.  Blaine had dark curls under the gel and Shriek just wanted to keep running his hands through it all.  He settled for placing a kiss on his forehead.

Kurt turned, smiled at him and said,  “Until tomorrow cutie.” He jumped out the window and used his powers to land without injury.

Blaine stared after him from his hospital bed and sighed,. ”Wow, what an ass he has, I think I’m in love with my own personal angel.  I can’t believe I was so flirty!  Looking at the business card he sighed again and said his name is Kurt.
