A little Halloween McDanno

Summary:

I wrote this to a prompt last fall, but never got it posted here. It feels Halloweenish. :) A bit of posessed Danno and intrigued horndog Steve.

Notes:

Hi- Life has been bumpy, but am still out here and hoping to find my writing mojo. Meantime, have a little McDanno.

Work Text:

"No, Danny... staaahp!" Steve got the only grip on Danny he could; a hand to the left shoulder, the other on Danny's right hip. "Danno, can you hear me... c'mon...Staaap..."

"Aaaghhhrnnnnnng....." Danny growled, and lunged again.

Steve both twisted away and shoved, pushing him far enough to buy a second and a half to think; but then Danny was right back, their ten inch kitchen carving knife high over his head and plunging fast toward Steve's heart yet again.

"Let him go you ....bastard," Steve blocked Danny's arm and twisted until Danny screamed; a high, unfamiliar shriek, then he took Danny out at the knees, the knife clattering to the floor along with half a dozen others. "Or bitch..... Whatever you are, get the hell out of my husband.”

It was blood-chilling; the way Danny snarled at him from the floor, his eyes no longer blue but a weird, cloudy grey full of deeply furious venom.

Steve reached for the nearest thing his hands could find - the scissors from the carving block - at the exact moment Danny lunged up and pinned Steve to the counter with his hips, a preternaturally strong fist grabbing Steve's throat and threatening to introduce the front of it to the back if he dared to move again.

"AeNoA B'D,iYL AaN_T', YoAYuOT,eH..." Danny drawled the words out low and slow, the thing possessing him luxuriating in every syllable, eyes all over Steve's face and then sweeping over his body.

Even though Steve sure as hell recognized Aramaic when he heard it, the variation had to be ancient because only the last word rang a bell.

The ones before it didn't really need a translation, though, Steve thought as Danny's hips pivoted, rubbing their bodies together; Steve also had an ear for 'furious, possessive, and deeply turned on,' and, well, wasn't this an interesting a twist in a horrible situation?

Danny had grabbed the two-tonged fork for flipping steaks as he rose; started dragging it, now, lightly over Steve's pecs, pressing the tines over one nipple teasingly, a little more pressure, tweaking it, and Steve braved a hip thrust back from his pinned position.

The thing smiled at him, a hungry leer, and didn't object when Steve raised the blades of the scissors to trace them over the 'V' where Danny's button-down opened, a mere inch from the amulet hanging by a fragile string.

Which told him the monster was at least five thousand years old, 'cause... it clearly had no clue how scissors worked.

Snick

The string broke, the amulet hit the kitchen floor with a bright chiming sound, and Danny, thankfully, let go of his neck.

"Holy freaking hell, where was I?" Danny seemed unsure of the ground he was standing on; both hands out, now, flinging the steak fork, his eyes all over the room.

"I don't know, where did it look like you were?"

"No frigging clue. But that... was some pretty ‘Way back, Dawn of Time' stuff. That was..... wow."

"Do you remember trying to kill me with kitchen appliances?”

"NO...I do not. What the...." Danny was turning from pasty to florid, from terrified to pissed off as he absorbed the state of the room and the red marks around Steve's neck. “what…actual hell? Where did you FIND that thing, again?"

"It was under a rock cairn, up in the mountains...someone had made a pile and..you know, you're not supposed to do that, Danny; it's not artsy it's rude to stack rocks. So I was randomly redistributing the rocks, and they'd buried the amulet under the biggest one..."

"Did you consider for a MOMENT they were maybe not being artsy but trying to get RID of it?"

"Yes. Maybe three seconds after you put it on, I did.”

There was a moment of silence, their eyes going to the floor and the amulet, followed by a silently exchanged 'what the hell do we do now?' .....and then Danny scooped it up, set it on the counter, and grabbed the meat mallet with clear intent to decimate the thing.

"Woah, woah... no...." Steve didn't yell it; just raised an arm to halt Danny's off-handedly.

"What if that doesn't kill it? What if that... lets it out?"

Another moment of silence, Danny's arm still over his head.

"Call Kamekona," Danny fished for his car keys in the bowl on the counter and grabbed his wallet from the drawer nearby. "Tell him we'll pay him ten times his normal charter fare to take us as far out over the Pacific as his gas tank and regulations will let him....."

"Good thinking," Steve scooped up the amulet.

"We're sinking that bitch so far out she won't be screw with anyone again for a hundred years. At which point... it won't be our problem."

"So it's a she?"

"Honestly.... I'm really not sure. But I do feel more in touch with my feminine side than I did an hour ago. Why?"

"Danny, would you maybe….just for a minute… try it back on?”

"WHAT are you doing?" Danny reached in to stop Steve's apparent attempt at tying the string together; grabbed the amulet hard enough to rip it away from him. "You ...are NUTS. You know that, right?"

"I think... it was interested in going a couple of rounds. Know what I mean?"

"I always know what you mean," Danny grabbed his arm, dragging him toward the front room, the door and the car. "Call Kamekona, you freak, and don't even look at me 'til we part ways with that...thing."

"Okay, I'm on it. I'm texting him."

"You are twisted, you know that?"

"I prefer to think I'm adventurous and not easily intimidated, but if you need to see it as 'twisted,' that's fine."

"Steven?"

"Ya?"

"You'll never hear me say this again, but... you drive. And go fast."
