Chapter Text
“Midoriya!”
Deku turned his head at the female voice to lock eyes with his best friend. Ochako was jogging towards him, her book bag slung over her shoulder. She must have just left class because there was still a notepad and pen in her hand, and Deku knew how disorganised she could be, especially when she was in a hurry.
“What is it, Ocha?”, he asked, raising his brow at the girl in front of him. Well, she wasn’t really a girl anymore. They were in college now, the thought still amazing Izuku whenever he thought about it. He remembered their first meeting in the school playground, both about five or six at the time. After that, the two became nearly inseparable. And now look at them, years later still hanging out together, going to get lunch, and so much more.
The brunette grinned madly at him, and Deku knew without a doubt that it was to ask him something entirely unreasonable. She always did that to him.
“I have to show you something”, she spoke carefully as if she was trying to dance around the topic of conversation, but pulled out her phone nonetheless. She opened it, scrolling through the apps until she found what she was looking for. Her finger tapped the screen, opening an app that Deku didn’t recognise. Had Iida developed a new app to try out? No, that couldn’t have been it. If he had then Deku and Ochako would have known about it at the same time. So, what was it?
“Okay, so this is an app that let’s you chat with people that may find you interesting”, Ochako began and Deku gave her an incredulous look. “So, it’s a messaging app then?” The girl tilted her head to tell Deku that he was only half right, pressing her lips into a thin line that was barely visible. “Kind of…” Izuku knew that Ochako was getting at something, if anything, the mischievous glint in her eyes gave it away. He just wasn’t sure what it was.
“It’s a messaging app for sugar daddies and sugar mommas to find potential sugar babies to spoil”, she continued, stopping when she seen Deku’s expression change to one of pure amusement. “You gotta be kidding me!”, Deku yelled, drawing the attention of the few students around them. He quickly shushed himself before bringing his voice down to a whisper. “Why are you showing me this, Ocha?! I don’t need a sugar daddy.” Ochako raised her brow. “Really?” She said it like she didn’t believe him, and Deku knew that it was because she didn’t.
“Look, I know you said that tuition was a little steep this year on you and your mom, so I just thought – you know, what better way to get money than to get yourself a sugar daddy.” Ochako still had a cheerful smile on her face that Deku couldn’t help but want to punch off. He’d already told her countless times that he didn’t want a sugar daddy, and yet here he was trying to explain it to her again.
“I don’t want help Ochako! And I certainly don’t need a sugar daddy. Why would I want one anyway?”
“I have a sugar daddy you kno—”
“—you do?!”
“Yep, his name’s Todoroki. Sweet guy. Super cute”, Ochako winked. “Look all I’m saying is try it for a while. Who knows, you may even find someone you like. And hey, not every sugar daddy out there is old and wrinkly like you seem to think they are.” The girl laughed as she slung an arm around Deku’s shoulders and pulling him closer before walking them to the edge of campus.
“Just try it, okay?” Deku didn’t answer. He wouldn’t know what to say to that anyway. C’mon, a sugar daddy? He didn’t really need one, did he?
The two made their way to their shared apartment. Ochako turned the key in the door, letting them both inside before crashing face first onto their small couch in the main area. Their shared apartment wasn’t anything too fancy, but it was enough considering that both of them had been near broke when they’d entered college. However, since then, Ochako had taken up a job as a cam girl, working her own hours and earning an astonishingly good amount of money. And apparently, she even had a sugar daddy now. Realistically, Deku knew that Ochako didn’t need a sugar daddy, and he was almost sure that she just kept him around because she genuinely liked the guy. She’d always been into older guys anyway. Although so had he.
Crap.
Deku dropped his backpack onto the floor before rummaging through it to take out his books to help him out with his next few assignments that he had due this week. “You got anything due this week, Ocha?” The brunette shook her head as she pulled herself off the couch. “Nah…I am going to go work now. Hope I don’t stop you from concentrating.” She winked at him playfully before disappearing into her own room.
It was weird actually. Any guy he knew that was interested in women would have jumped at the chance to have a cam girl as a roommate, but not him. Honestly, he didn’t care. The pair were so close with one another that they could talk about anything, not to mention that both of them had already seen each other in various states of undress over the years. Nothing fazed them anymore. So, things just went on like normal. He would do his assignments when he got back from classes and Ochako would work, doing her own assignments later. Deku could always hear her through the thins walls of their apartment. The moans, the dirty talk to her viewers, it all just faded into the background for him now.
Izuku sat himself down at his desk chair before spreading the books out in front of him. He opened one along with his laptop, ready to get stuck into whatever assignments needed to be done. He picked up a pen tapping in gently against the desk until he found his mind wandering. Deku couldn’t deny that what Ochako had said to him stuck with him. The thought of having a sugar daddy was intriguing to him, especially if it meant that his mom didn’t have to worry about paying for college anymore, and he could even give her some extra money to spend on herself. But what if something went too far? It wasn’t that he thought he was going to fall for the guy or anything – and even if he did, there was nothing wrong with dating an older guy – but he just didn’t want to be played for a fool.
He thought about it for a while before deciding that it couldn’t hurt. Deku had already told himself that he wasn’t telling Ochako a damn thing until he’d had a sugar daddy for at least a month. God only knew what she’d end up saying to him. Probably some version of ‘I told you so’. The green-haired boy laughed at the thought before retrieving his phone off of his bed. He searched for the app, cringing when it popped up on his screen. Should he really be doing this?
With a newfound determination, Izuku tapped on the app to install it. The icon appeared on his home screen, and he watched it for a moment not doing anything. He didn’t need to do this now, right? He could just go and do his assignments first, and then maybe he could take a look at it later. Yeah, that’s what he’d do.
Putting down his phone and picking back up his pen, Deku got to work on his assignments for the week. But his mind never stopped wandering back to the thought of the app, of what kind of men were on there, and if they’d find him attractive or not. The idea made his stomach flutter. Izuku looked back at his phone. Fuck you, Ocha.
This was going to be such a bad idea.
