Work Text:
Fall had always been your favorite season.
You inhaled deeply as you rode your horse around the perimeter of Wall Rose, appreciating the refreshing scent of the world around you. There was something about the cold Autumn night that made you feel new. Maybe it was the way the moon shined brightly in the sky, casting an alluring glow on everything it’s light touched. Maybe it was the way the chill was just shy of bitter, cooling your skin and warming your insides. Maybe it was the way that everything smelled like cinnamon and tree bark. Whatever it was, it never failed to leave you content. The burden of your line of work seemed to weigh lighter on your shoulders in the Fall. It would always be heavy, but nights like these it felt more bearable; like you were doing something good, something valuable, something necessary. It was often hard to remember that in the other seasons.
“Hey,” a gruff voice pulled you from internally waxing poetic. “What’s up with you?”
“Sir?”
“You keep sighing.”
“Oh, I’m not sighting. I’m just appreciating the way the air smells.”
“Hah?”
Your comrade and Captain turned to look at you properly. When you simply stared back politely, not offering any further explanation, he diverted his gaze back to look at the path ahead.
“The air doesn’t have a scent.”
You continued to stay silent. You never could tell what Levi was thinking. When Commander Erwin ordered you two to pair up for the inspection of Wall Rose, your stomach fluttered with excitement and churned with anxiety. Captain Levi was known to be rather reserved, somewhat condescending, and more than a little short-tempered. That, though, had not been your experience with him. You found him charming, if you were being honest with yourself. He didn’t say much, but when he did, his voice carried a near indistinguishable compassion. He was more curious than others realized, you thought, because the inflection of his voice always left some sort of unspoken question. And in everything he did, no matter what it was, he always held such a unique caliber of auspiciousness about him. But more than anything — more than the compassionate Captain, the curious comrade, the auspicious soldier — Levi Ackerman was a fiercely brave man who was wholly dedicated to his fellow Scouts.
Your train of thought was interrupted once again, this time by a violent shiver running down your spine. Levi looked to you again and simply asked, “Cold?”
“Yeah. We underestimated how long this would take, so I didn’t bother bringing my cloak with me.”
You mentally kicked yourself, knowing his reprimand would be immediate and probably more intense than necessary.
“Here,” he said, undoing the button at his neck. You let out a small gasp, trying your best to shield your face from his view. With how bright and full the moon was, he would be sure to see your blush otherwise.
“Oh, no, please don’t. I’m fine, really, and I don’t want you to be cold —“
But Levi had already shrugged the garment from his shoulders and you were interrupted by him extending his arm out to you, offering you the extra layer of warmth. Your eyes shifted from his hand to his eyes and your blush deepened when you noticed the small smile playing at his lips.
“Just take it. Brat.”
If you looked any longer, you worried he might find you out. You feigned a cough, looking away and reaching out to take his cloak.
“Th-thank you.”
Because you had averted your gaze, your fingers brushed his when you reached for the cloth. You did your best to play it cool, muttering a small, “sorry,” under your breath.
You finished the rest of your inspection mostly in silence. There was an occasional comment or question from Levi, but conversation was minimal and would have been nonexistent if it had been left up to you to initiate. You were too overwhelmed with the smell of his cologne which stubbornly clung to the fabric that rested gently over your shoulders to really hear anything he had said to you.
As you arrived back at Utgard Castle for the evening, you and Levi tied your horses to their designated posts. As he finished tying his off, you grabbed two buckets of water and brought them to where he stood. He silently took one from you and you both added their contents to the trough.
“Warm?”
“Sorry?”
“Are you warmer now?”
“Oh, yeah, thank you again. I’m sorry I took it from you. Here,”
You worked your fingers at the button on his cloak, but before you could take it off completely, he reached both his hands out to you. You watched his face carefully but his eyes were fixed on your fingers which remained up near your collarbones. He hesitated for only a moment before putting his hands over yours.
“Your hands are freezing,” he said, finally looking into your eyes. You simply stared back at him. Letting go of your hands, he flicked his gaze back down to the cloak’s button, redoing it for you.
“If you’re cold, keep it. I don’t need it.”
“But… won’t people get the wrong idea?”
“How do you mean?”
“We still have to hear Commander Erwin’s debrief of tonight’s reports and his plan for the rest of the mission. We’re scheduled to be in the old dining hall in just a few minutes. So… if we walk in and I’m wearing a cloak and you’re not… and we left with you wearing a cloak and I wasn’t… then…” You let your sentence hang in the air, unfinished, but implied. Levi observed you for a minute before letting out a brisk chuckle. He turned, putting his hands in his pockets and walking off toward the castle’s doors.
“Brat. Come on.”
“I just don’t want you to be troubled because of me!” You called after him, running to catch up with his pace. He smiled down at you out of the corner of his eye.
Levi opened the door for you and you both made your way into what used to be a grand dining hall to receive Erwin’s debriefing. It was already filled with the rumbling murmur of collective conversation, but you weren’t focused on anything other than the room itself. You couldn’t help but admire it. It was like stepping into a different time.
Levi nudged you gently in question. You didn’t need to look at him to know what he was doing.
“It’s almost like you can see them.”
“Who?”
“The monarchy, and the nobles, and the merchants. All gathered around the table, eating something lavish and fancy that none of us will ever even see in our entire lifetimes.” You spun around slowly, looking toward the ceiling where you were sure an extravagant, crystal chandelier once hung boldly and proudly.
“It’s like this room is a moment in time.” You continued your adornment of what this place once was, of what it once held. Then, you looked toward Levi.
“Who would you have been?”
“What?”
“If we lived when they did, when this castle was whole and when the world was still somewhat… humanity’s. Who would you have been?”
Levi found himself genuinely considering your question. He looked to the massive table that sat in the center of the room, dusty as hell, but definitely once a magnificent symbol of wealth and nobility. He could see you there, sitting at the head of the table with a fabulously expensive gown and jewels atop your head, dangling from your earlobes, resting upon your neck and wrist and fingers. He wanted to be the one seated next to you, the one who had given you every single one of those jewels in an attempt to convey even a fraction of his affections toward you. He wanted to be the one you looked for when you laughed at a joke, the one who’s hand you reached for when you were nervous, the one you kissed and loved and went to bed with at the end of the night. But when he let himself step into that moment in time, he saw you still at the head of the table and he saw himself in the corner, waiting to be summoned with a sterling silver tray of cocktails in his hand.
“It’s hard for me to think of myself as anything other than what I am.” He admitted to you. You cocked your head to the side in a way that was so insufferably adorable he almost had to look away.
“I didn’t mean what would you change about yourself. I meant what you would have done if we lived in that world, however long ago, where we didn’t have to fight Titans.” When he still didn’t answer, you asked your question in a different way. “Who would you have been in a world before there was a need for the Scouts?”
He hated the words that came out of his mouth. They tasted like bitter poison.
“Probably a thief.”
He looked at you but saw no judgement in your eyes. He found himself continuing.
“It’s the only other thing I know how to be.”
You laughed a little at that and said “Silly,” standing to attention with everyone else as Erwin walked in the doors. You leaned closer to him and whispered “That’s still who you were in a world that was stolen by Titans.” Levi’s mouth fell open in shock at hearing you say that. This time, you looked at him out of the corner of your eyes.
“It doesn’t count.”
“At ease, soldiers,” Erwin said as he took his seat at the head of the table. “I know we’re all tired, it’s been a long day. I’ll keep this quick and then get straight to room assignments.”
Because of the sheer amount of time this mission would take, the Scouts had temporarily seized Utgard Castle for their lodging. Levi had insisted that Erwin assign everyone rooms, mainly to keep a couple of particular brats from his squad from doing anything inappropriate. Those damn kids just couldn’t be trusted.
As it turned out, the other duos that had been tasked with inspection that evening found much of the same thing; nothing of interest to report. Commander Erwin sighed, leaning back in his chair and running a hand over his face as he finished going over the evening’s debrief.
“Now, then.” He looked to his soldiers. “Any questions?” When none came, he continued. “Excellent. Then let’s get straight to room assignments so we can all get some sleep. First up, the gentlemen. That’ll be Jean and Connie, Bertholt and Reiner, Eren and Armin. Ladies, it’ll be Sasha and Historia, Ymir and Mikasa. If anyone needs myself or Hange, we’ll be at the end of the hall. We’ll be taking shifts on guard duty so please come to either of us with anything urgent.”
“Wait, what?” Levi said, clearly annoyed.
“I didn’t hear my name either…”
“Any questions?”
As you and Levi both moved to raise your hands, Erwin said “Wonderful. Dismissed!” And everyone scattered from the dining hall, heading to their assigned rooms. You and Levi remained seated. You were completely lost as to why the two of you had been left out from room assignments. Looking over to Levi for clarity, you found that he was busy working out the scowl from his eyebrows with his thumb and pointer finger.
“Erwin…”
“Yes, Levi?”
He opened his eyes, casting them toward the Commander.
“You want to tell me why you didn’t assign either of us a room? Or maybe why you ignored our questions at the end there?”
“Oh, that. You’ll actually be in a room together. But space was a little tight, so unfortunately your room is a bit… different from everyone else’s.”
“Erwin, I swear to God-“
You, for one, had no idea what was going on.
“Your room is just down the hall, first door on the left.”
“You’re telling me everyone else was assigned same sex rooms except for us?”
“Not at all. Hange and I are in a room together.”
“You’re taking shifts on guard duty and don’t actually have to share. Why not just put us together and (Y/N) with Hange?”
“Because, Levi, we’ll need to report to each other throughout the night. I’d rather have all of my soldiers getting the proper rest they need rather than being interrupted by the constant shift changes. Any other questions?”
Levi just continued to glare. As he stood, he said, “That’s a sorry ass excuse.” He walked out of the room and when he noticed you weren’t walking next to him, he paused and waited for you.
“Come on. Let’s go to bed.”
Everything was playing at you in slow motion. It didn’t hit you until a few seconds after he said it. There was a delay in your mind from action to comprehension, but you finally understood what was going on.
Erwin assigned you and Levi to a room together.
You and Levi would be sharing a room for the evening.
Levi was asking you to come to bed.
Wait.
Hold on.
Levi was asking you to come to bed?
When you shook yourself from your thoughts, Erwin was gone and it was just you and Levi in the dining hall. He sighed, crossing the room back to where you sat. He held his hand out for you, pulling you up. His touch lingered a few seconds more than necessary.
“Come on,” he said again, much huskier than the first time. You swear your heart stopped. You did your best to ignore it, following Levi out of the dining hall, walking side by side through the moonlit corridor. The hallway was long and expansive, and you felt yourself growing more and more tired with each step you took. You reached your arms above your head and stretched as you walked, your shirt pulling up just slightly to reveal your navel. You let out a soft sigh that Levi definitely thought was more of a moan as your bones shifted and popped.
“Something hurting you?”
“Just my back. But that always hurts. I’m sure yours does, too.”
Levi hummed his response, agreeing with you. It was an unavoidable part of the job.
“You can get changed first. I’ll wait in the hall, so just let me know when you’re done and we can switch. The sooner we get to sleep, the better.”
“Sounds good. Thank you, Levi.”
Levi kept his eyes forward but reached out and ruffled your hair affectionately. You smiled to yourself. In that moment, you couldn’t have asked for anything more.
As you reached the end of the hall, you turned the corner and approached the first door on the left. Levi pulled out the key to the room that Erwin had given him and unlocked the door, opening it for you. You both stepped inside and Levi allowed his hand to rest gently on your lower back as he moved around you through the small doorframe. You looked to him, thinking he needed something. He set his bag down on a chair near the door, rummaging though it and retrieving his toothbrush.
“I’m going to run down to the -“
But as Levi spun on his heel, turning to flip the light on, his eyes immediately caught on the centerpiece in the room.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
You followed his gaze, turning around 180 degrees to see the source of the problem. The room didn’t have two full beds. It had one queen bed.
“That bastard. I’ll kill him.”
“Is… is this what Erwin meant by our room being… different?”
Levi pinched the bridge of his nose, attempting to work out the scowl on his face for the second time that night.
“I’m guessing so.”
“But I don’t understand. If there had to be a few pairs of opposite sex roommates, fine. But why not just put, like, Jean and Connie, or Ymir and Mikasa in here? If the other rooms all have two beds, then why-“
“It’s that idiot’s idea of a joke. He’s making fun of me.”
“Making fun of you?” You tore your eyes from the bed at the center of the room to Levi. You almost backed up when you thought you saw a light pink flush on his face.
“Nothing, never mind. Like I said, it’s his stupid attempt at humoring himself.”
You sighed and thought for a moment.
“There’s probably a sofa in what used to be the library. I can sleep there.”
“What? No.”
“But -“
“If you’re uncomfortable, I can find somewhere else to sleep. Like hell I’ll let you spend the whole night on some dirty ass couch.”
“It’s not really that I’m uncomfortable. I mean, if I had to share a room with one of the guys, and if Erwin had given me a say in the matter, I’d have chosen you. So, it would be the same either way.” Levi’s heart felt like it would leap from his chest. Hearing that you’d pick him for anything, even something as stupid as this, gave him the childish feeling that he was special to you.
“But I really do feel bad about how much trouble I cause you.” You continued, reminding Levi that you were currently having a conversation.
“You don’t cause me any trouble.”
You smiled shyly at him, appreciating his attempts to soothe you.
“I can’t imagine that’s true. Even just tonight, I was so distracted by the weather that you thought something was wrong with me, and I took your cloak from you, and I made you play my childish game of ‘what if’ before Erwin’s debrief.” You laughed at how ridiculous you sounded when you said it out loud. “Actually I think I might be rather annoying to you.”
Levi was completely stunned into silence. Is that how you thought he felt about you?
“And understandably so. But I do feel bad about it, if it’s any consolation.” You couldn’t look him in the eye anymore, so instead you looked to the ground and fiddled awkwardly with your hands. “I just enjoy your company, and I’m selfish, so I want to learn more about you.”
Levi felt like he had just received a confession. He tried not to let himself get his hopes up, tried not to let himself think that there was a chance his feelings were requited, but hearing you reveal just how aware of his presence you really were made him feel hopeful in a way that he hadn’t in a long, long time. You made him feel bolder, more secure. He thought that was why he was able to respond the way he had.
Levi walked toward you, carding his fingers through your hair. The touch startled you but you made no move to pull away. There was no hiding your blush with him so close to your face, but the bizarre thing was that he didn’t seem to be trying to hide his, either. His other hand remained in his pocket as he took you in, the full sight of you, and practically purred in your ear.
“You don’t cause me any trouble,” he told you sincerely. “You don’t annoy me,” he said as he searched your eyes for any sign of doubt. “And you’re definitely not the only one who wants to spend time with the other.”
Levi looked down as he took his hand from his pocket and reached for yours. He paused, though, changing his mind at the last minute and letting his arm fall unceremoniously to his side. He met your gaze once more.
“I asked Erwin to pair us together for the inspection tonight.”
What?
“What?”
“It’s like you said,” he took his hand from your hair, grabbed his toothbrush and headed for the door. He turned his head and called over his shoulder, “I’m selfish, and I enjoy your company.” With that, he closed the door behind him, leaving you flustered and alone to get changed for bed. The second the door was closed, he leaned his back against the door, covering his blush with one hand over his face. Erwin just so happened to be in the hallway as he exited.
“That was smooth. I’m impressed, Levi. I didn’t know you could be such a romantic.”
Levi kicked his friend’s ankle, shoving him forward to walk toward the bathroom with him.
“Shut up. She’ll hear you.”
Erwin chuckled.
“Did you seriously take the time to make the room assignments the way you did just so that we’d have to share the one room with a single bed?”
“Are you seriously just now getting that?”
Levi rolled his eyes.
“You should be thanking me. I’m giving you the push you needed.”
“No, you asshole, you aren’t. I don’t want her to have to share a bed with me because her pervert Commander ordered her to.”
“But you do want her to share a bed with you?”
“Would you cut it the fuck out?”
Levi moved to punch him this time, but Erwin easily dodged it.
“Just make sure you’re a perfect gentlemen.”
“I’ll fucking kill you.”
Levi and Erwin continued their banter as they both headed to the men’s restroom to get ready for the evening. As they finished everything they needed to get done, Erwin left in the opposite direction for his first shift on guard duty. As they parted, he yelled back to Levi.
“Remember to use protec-“
“If you finish that sentence I really will kill you.”
With that, Erwin left the Castle and Levi headed back to his room. He waited outside for a minute before knocking on the door, heading inside when you called back a small “come in.” The first thing he saw was you sitting upright, huddled up in the absolute smallest amount of space you could take up on the bed, with the blanket pulled all the way up to your neck. Levi tried to ignore the feeling he got at seeing you so worked up.
“Brat,” he called sweetly. He sat on the opposite edge of the bed and pulled the blanket toward himself, which pulled you further on to the bed. “You’ll fall off the edge if you try and sleep like that.” You nodded, still avoiding his eyes, and he tilted your chin up so that you would look at him properly.
“Don’t be so nervous. It’s just me.”
Your heart melted at his words. You really felt like you could cry. Levi was always so gentle with you, so sweet, so kind, you truly didn’t know what to do with it. How could you not fall in love with someone like him?
“Levi?”
“Hmm?”
He gently moved his hand up from your chin to your cheek, brushing your soft skin with the pad of his thumb. You looked angelic like this, with the moonlight glowing against your skin and the bright white sheets laying softly in your lap. It took all of your courage to say what you said next.
“I’m still cold… so… you should hurry up and get changed.”
Levi couldn’t remember a time he smiled the way he did when you said that. He couldn’t help himself. He leaned in to whisper cooly in your ear.
“I’ll be right back.”
He stood, missing the thrill that his whisper sent down your spine, and grabbed a spare sheet from the tiny closet. He unfolded it and draped it gracefully over your shoulders, pull it tight around you.
“Think you can use that in the meantime?”
You nodded, blush deepening with each passing second. He smiled at you, grabbed his clothes and hurried off to change. He didn’t think he’d ever done anything so quickly in his life.
He didn’t knock when he returned, opening the door and finding you just as he left you. You were completely entranced by the buttons of his pajama shirt, which were only done up about three quarters of the way, revealing more of his toned and muscular chest than you had ever seen before. Silently, he wandered back to the bed and crawled in, instantly holding out an arm for you so that you could cuddle up to him. Even though you basically asked him to do just that, you hadn’t expected him to so readily oblige. You squirmed over to him as he turned out the bedside lantern, settling into the pillows with your head on his shoulder. You were unsure what to do with your arm and you kept moving it around awkwardly, so Levi took the initiative in grabbing your hand and setting it to rest on the exposed skin of his chest. He placed a hand overtop of yours and you felt his heartbeat hammer away.
“Better?” He asked you.
“Yeah… Much better.”
Levi hummed once again, letting his fingers drift to trace small circles on your shoulder. He really hadn’t expected the night to go like this, but he had to admit, he was incredibly thankful that it had. This really was the best case scenario. Despite the fact that he knew you both desperately needed sleep, he found himself wanting to savor this night with you, trying his best to brush away the thought that it might never happen again.
“Who would you have been?” He asked, breaking the silence.
“Hmm?”
“In that moment in time. In a world before there was a need for the Scouts. Who would you have been?”
You smiled to yourself, wishing you could lean up and his kiss chest or his neck or his lips for that.
“Probably a thief,” you echoed his answer from earlier and he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, looking down to see your face.
“If that’s what you would have been.”
Levi simply continued watching you, waiting for you to say something else, anything else. You sensed that somehow and continued.
“I told you I was selfish.”
“(Y/N),” he said in a way that made your stomach do a summersault. He rolled onto his side, cupping your cheek in his hand. You instinctively raised your hand to grip his wrist, wanting to keep his hand exactly where it was.
“You have to tell me if you want me to stop.”
Your eyes widened at that and you tightened your hold on his wrist. He moved his face closer to yours.
“I don’t ever want you to think that I’d do anything to you that you don’t want me to. I don’t ever want you to be afraid of me.”
You kissed his palm in a rare display of bravery.
“I could never be afraid of you, Levi.”
He didn’t think you knew how badly he needed to hear that. Levi leaned the rest of the way down and caught your lips with his. He let out the softest exhale when he felt the warmth of your kiss, and when you let out a tiny moan and pushed your body flush against his, he was gone. Levi groaned, drawing his hand down from your cheek to rest on the base of your neck. The second you felt him move his hand, you followed suit and reached for the back of his head, dragging your fingernails along his scalp.
“Fuck,” Levi sighed against your lips, dropping his head to the crook of your neck.
“Sorry, I’m sorry, did I-“
“No,” he said between gentle kisses and nips at your neck. “No, baby. You didn’t hurt me.”
Your heart broke in the best way possible. Tears sprung to your eyes at the pet name and you just couldn’t hold in your emotions.
“Levi,” your voice broke and his eyes widened. He snapped his head up to look at you and he was immediately consumed with the crippling anxiety that he had crossed a line.
“Shit, I’m sorry, what’s wrong? Was it too much? I’m sorry, please don’t cry.” He wiped your tears from your face and kissed your cheek. “Please don’t cry.” He repeated.
You shook your head and smiled at him, raking your fingers through his hair once more. You leaned up and kissed him sweetly, letting your arms fall to wrap around the back of his neck.
“Nothing is wrong. I didn’t mean to worry you, I’m sorry.” You kissed his neck to let him know that you were fine, you were comfortable, and you wanted to keep going.
“I’ve just waited a long time to hear you say that.”
Levi held your face in his hands and moved so that he was now completely over top of you, pinning you to the mattress. He kissed you deeply, trying to convey how he felt in the movement of his lips. When he pulled away, he was panting and his pupils were blown wide.
“I’ve waited a long time to call you that.”
He crashed his lips to yours again, gently sucking your bottom lip and teasing you with tiny, playful nibbles. You opened your mouth to let out a soft moan and Levi took the opportunity to seek out your tongue. You both moaned at the feeling and your skin felt like it was on fire. Levi moved one hand to hold your hip in a bruising grip, trying his best to keep you from bucking up into him and finding out just how turned on he was. When he pulled away from the kiss, you whined at the loss of contact and chased his lips with half-lidded eyes. He smiled fondly at you and pecked your lips.
“I want to do something.”
“Okay.”
“Tell me if you’re uncomfortable.”
You nodded at him.
“You know you can tell me ‘No,’ if you don’t want to do something, right?”
Again, you nodded.
“I need you to use your words, baby.”
That word just kept shooting straight through you.
“Yes, I know I can tell you ‘No,’ if I don’t want to do something.”
“Good girl,” he praised, kissing your neck. He let himself linger for a minute, sucking a small hickey into your skin as you squirmed underneath him. He intertwined your fingers together and held them right by your head, trying to let you know that he was right here if you needed him. Levi learned that as much as he loved seeing you worked up, he loved being the one who worked you up even more.
He detached his lips from your neck and looked up at you.
“Can I take your shirt off?”
You let yourself consider his request before answering. Honestly, you had struggled with insecurity and body image issues a lot in the past, and though you were making remarkable improvements, they were definitely still there. But you trusted Levi with everything you had and with everything you were, and you didn’t want to stop.
“Can… can you take yours off, too?”
He kissed you again, peppering little pecks over your cheeks and nose and eyelashes after he pulled away.
“Anything you want, sweetheart.” Levi sat back on his heels and pulled you up with him, looming over you as he sat back on his heels. He reached for the hem of your shirt and observed your face for any signs of discomfort before he pulled it over your head. You moved your arms to cover yourself at the exposed feeling of being shirtless in front of him but let him easily pull them away. He kissed your cheek, then your lips and said “Don’t hide yourself. You’re beautiful.”
You pulled him down by the back of his neck for another heated kiss. This time, your tongue found his and Levi let out an audible moan that he couldn’t have been trying to stifle. Hearing him spurred you on and you sat up on your knees and pressed your body flush against his again, gasping when you felt something poking into your belly. Levi flushed and gripped your hips again, ready to move you backwards and away from his growing problem, but you stopped him by bracing your hands on his chest.
“It’s okay,” you told him. The second he had your permission, he moved his hands from your hips to wrap around your waist. He pushed you back and you fell down onto the mattress with him.
As your fingers worked at the buttons of his shirt, his couldn’t decide whether or not to settle on your waist or your stomach or your breasts. His decision was made for him when he snaked a hand up to squeeze one of your breasts and your eyes rolled into the back of your head as you practically mewled beneath him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” he said as you discarded his shirt. You ran your hands over every inch of muscle and practically drooled at the sight of him.
“You’re going to fucking kill me.”
“Touch me.” You begged. “Please, please, I need it. It’s too hot, too much, I-“ you moaned again as he tore your bra off of you, diving down to suckle and pinch your nipples. You arched your back and Levi involuntarily thrust his hips down to meet yours, groaning at the incredible sensation of heat and friction
“Fuck, Levi,” he bit and nipped at your sensitive flesh when you called his name, scratching his hands down your sides and back to your hips. He pulled his mouth away from your nipple with an obscene *pop* and looked up at you again. You shivered at the chill you felt from your saliva-coated skin. Levi kissed his way up your neck, sucking and biting along the way, before he finally reached your lips. He used this as an opportunity to slow down the pace a bit, kissing you with newfound fervor. When you separated for air, Levi’s gaze bore into you. You felt so vulnerable and so accepted and, dare you say, so loved by this man above you.
“I want to touch you.”
“I want you to touch me.”
He fingered the waistband of your pants in an attempt to convey his meaning to you. You knew exactly what he wanted and you wanted it just as badly.
“I want you to be certain. I don’t want to overwhelm you or take advantage of you.” He paused, searching for the right words. “All I want to do is make you feel happy and safe and loved.”
Your eyes started watering again and you had to bite your lip to keep your face from crumbling completely.
“Levi,” you whispered.
“I love you.”
You let out a relieved laugh that fell off into a cry. Levi, once again, wiped the tears from your face.
“I love you,” he told you again. “So if this isn’t what you want, if you’re not ready, please don’t push yourself. I couldn’t live with myself if I thought I had forced to do something you didn’t want.”
You kissed him desperately, hoping that if your words failed, your actions wouldn’t. Levi let you kiss him at your own pace, following your lead, giving you exactly what you needed and nothing more or less. He so badly wanted to do this right. More than anything, he wanted to protect this fragile part of your heart.
“I love you,” you told him when you pulled away. “I’ve- for so long, I’ve loved you. And I couldn’t approach you with it, not only because you’re my Captain but because I didn’t want to put another burden on your shoulders on top of everything you already have to carry, and -“ he kissed you to silence you. When he pulled away, he said to you, “Please stop talking like you’re a burden to me. You’re the only thing in this world that makes me feel hopeful. You make me feel like I’m more than just ‘Humanity’s Strongest Soldier.’”
“You are so much more. I can’t- I don’t- Levi, I just love you. And that’s all I know.”
He smiled at you, tears brimming in his own eyes.
“You aren’t overwhelming me. You’re not taking advantage of me. I love you, and there’s nothing more in this world that I want than to express that love to you, for you. Only you.”
“That last part is supposed to be my line.” You laughed at his attempt at humor, pecking him on the lips and gently pulling his bottom lip between your teeth to shift the mood back to where it had previously been.
“I’d rather you just show me.”
You swore you saw the blue-gray hue of Levi’s eyes grow four shades darker. He was making an expression you’d never seen before, almost like a smirk, but less smug and more… thankful? Grateful? You weren’t exactly sure what to call it, but whatever it was, it was driving you crazy.
“If at any point I do something you don’t like or don’t want, tell me. Immediately. Got it?”
You nodded.
“Words, baby.”
“Yes.”
“There’s my good girl.”
You whined again, desperate for this special attention he was giving you. All the pet names were sending you up a wall and Levi knew it. As he dove down to suck yet another hickey onto your neck, he let his middle and index finger hook onto the waistband of your pants and slide them off, leaving you in nothing but your panties. He took those same two fingers and rubbed them far too lightly over the center of the lacy fabric, making you moan louder than you had at all that night. He trailed his kisses upwards, licking the shell of your ear.
“You like that?” He emphasized his question by pressing his hand further into you, giving you the pressure you were so desperate for.
“Yes, yes. Levi, fuck, please.” You reached down to pull his pants off as well and he helped you by kicking them off past his knees and ankles. You reached for the bulge in his boxers, latching onto it and giving a firm pump through the cloth.
“Fuck. Oh, fuck. (Y/N).”
His pleas only encouraged you, tightening your hold and increasing the rate of your pumps. He moaned directly into your ear, but you were completely focused on pleasing him. He was rock hard and much, much bigger than you had imagined. You wanted to feel him completely, not just through the fabric of his boxers. Without even thinking about it, you tugged at the waistband of his boxers, letting his cock spring free and slap against his belly. You immediately continued your ministrations and Levi dropped his head to your shoulder. His eyes rolled into the back of his head and he had to close them to fight off the dizzy feeling that was swimming in his head. He was trying so hard to concentrate on what was happening; the feeling of your fist wrapped around him firmly, how good it felt to have you pumping it around his cock, the way you rubbed your thumb teasingly over the head and smeared precum all over him. Though no part of him wanted to stop, he knew he wouldn’t last long if this kept up.
He ripped your hand away from his dick and pinned them both above your head with one large hand. He held them down by the wrists and nipped at your ear as he told you “If you keep touching me like that, this is going to be over a lot sooner than I’d like it to.”
He didn’t give you any warning before he moved your panties to the side and dipped his middle finger right into your core in one swift motion. You tossed your head back at the feeling of finally being filled, though it wasn’t nearly enough.
“Fuck, God damnit, (Y/N). You’re so fucking wet.”
“More,” you whined, clawing at his back in a needy and impatient way. “More, more, more-“
“Shhh,” he whispered as he added a second finger, growling at the way you moaned and writhed beneath him. “I’m going to take care of you, baby.” He watched you come undone on his fingers, pumping and curling them in just the right way.
“That’s it. That’s my good girl. Look at you. So good for me.”
He rapidly increased the pace of his fingers, pounding them into you as his biceps flexed and bulged with the force of his speed.
“Levi, Levi!”
“You like that? Hmm? Like when I finger you?”
“Yes! Fuck, yes, right there!”
Levi stopped pumping his fingers immediately, curling them in a “come here” motion. He rubbed that perfect spot inside of you and you were a complete mess beneath him.
“That it? That the spot?”
“Yes, yes, Levi please please please-“
“You want to cum on my fingers?”
“Please, Levi! Fuck, fuck, please let me cum. Please.”
His cock throbbed and strained at your begging and he let himself sit back on his knees once more, pumping himself as he watched you beg for him to fuck you with his fingers. You opened your eyes and could just barley make out what he was doing.
“Levi,” you whined at the stillness of his hand. He simply smirked and said “Be a good girl and cum for your Captain.” And with that, he started the relentless pounding of his fingers into you once again, watching you pulse and clamp around him as he pumped his cock in his hand. With all the teasing and foreplay, it didn’t take long for the coil that had built up in your belly to snap. Your entire body convulsed and your spine curled up and off the mattress as you came. Levi fell back from his knees and sat down fully as he pulled you into his lap, fucking you through your orgasm.
“Good girl, good girl, that’s it. Cum on my fingers. Just like that, baby. Fuck.”
You continued twitching and writhing in his lap, biting his shoulder to keep your voice down. Levi slowed the pace of his hand gradually as it started to become too much for you, doing his best to avoid overstimulating you. As he withdrew his fingers he continued whispering in your ear, calming you and bringing you back down to reality. When you opened your eyes, you saw him lapping his tongue around his fingers.
“Levi,”
“Hmm?” He hummed casually as though he weren’t doing something utterly lewd as he looked down at you.
“I love you.”
He chuckled to himself, settling his now clean hand your stomach.
“You with me?”
You nodded, but then remembered your words.
“Yes, I’m- I’m with you.”
“Good girl. So good for me.” He scooped you up in his arms and you gasped, not having expected the sudden movement. He laid you back down on the bed and climbed overtop of you, lacing your fingers together in each of his hands. He kissed you briefly and then asked, “Are you ready?”
“Yes, yeah I just-“ you took a deep breath, then asked “can you go slow…?”
Levi furrowed his eyebrows.
“Did I hurt you?”
“No! No, God, no. Not at all. You’re just… it’s a lot bigger than your fingers… and I’ve never… done this before. So I’m just a little nervous.”
Levi’s face softened and he kissed your forehead.
“I’m right here,” he told you.
“I know.”
He took one of his hands from yours and lined himself up with your entrance that was still dripping from just minutes before.
“I love you.”
You smiled.
“I know,” you pecked his lips. “I love you.”
Levi went as slowly as he could without it being agonizing for both of you. He pushed the head in, carefully watching your face for any sign of discomfort or distress. When he saw nothing but pleasure, he continued forward, inch by inch, giving you time to adjust at your own pace. When he fully bottomed out inside of you, your vision was blurry and your head was hazy. You felt so hot, like you had a terrible fever, and you knew you were being embarrassingly needy and clingy. Your eyes watered, not from pain or sadness, but simply because your body was trying desperately to cool itself down.
“Levi,” your breaths came out in deep pants. You were completely out of breath. Levi was the same way, exhaling in heavy sighs in an attempt to catch his breath. He cupped your cheek in his hand when you called his name and he kissed you passionately. When he pulled away, he saw so much love and adoration shining in your eyes. And knowing that it was all for him sent him over the edge. His heart overflowed with how much love he held for you.
“I love you.” He said to you. “I love you. Don’t ever let anyone else see you like this. You’re mine, and I’m yours, for the rest of our shitty lives. You hear me?”
You nodded frantically. “Yours. All yours. Just for you. There will never be anyone else for me, Levi. It’s only ever been you.”
He smashed his lips into yours, clashing your teeth together as he licked into your mouth. Gently, he pulled most of the way out before snapping his hips back and thrusting into you. Any semblance of eloquence you had completely left you as Levi set a steady rhythm, pumping in and out of you with an increasingly rougher speed.
“So fucking hot. So fucking tight, fuck, fuck. God, fuck, it feels so fucking good.”
You scratched your nails down his back again as he found that spot inside you once more, this time drawing blood. Levi sucked on your neck and used the hand that wasn’t holding yours to roughly pinch and twist your nipples.
“Right there, God, please, Levi. Right there, fuck.”
Levi slammed into you harder and harder with each thrust, losing his rhythm rather quickly. You were so desperate to cum, but you wanted so badly to draw this out as long as possible. You pushed hard on Levi’s chest and he backed off in shock, completely stopping all of his motions. He started to ask what was wrong but before he could, you flipped your positions so he was on his back and you were straddling him.
“Fuck, baby, come here.”
He gripped the back of your head possessively and pulled you down into a searing kiss. As his tongue found yours, wrestling for dominance, he reached down to line his cock up with your entrance again before thrusting into you roughly. You met each of his thrusts with an absurd roll of your hips that had Levi coming apart at the seams. Then, unexpectedly, you pulled off of him and he frowned, groaning his disappointment.
“What are you -“
But before he could finish, you kissed your way from his lips to his neck, his neck to his chest, down his stomach and finally reaching his cock. Seeing it up close like this drove you wild. There was a thick vein running down the full length of his shaft and it was a deep, angry red color. You licked the tip experimentally, kissing your way down his length before licking your way right back to the head.
“Fuck, (Y/N)!” Levi practically screamed, grabbing a fistful of your hair. You looked up at him through your dark eyelashes as you sucked the tip into your mouth. You bobbed your head slowly at first, swirling your tongue around the salty skin before taking him further into your mouth. Levi raked his free hand through his own hair, muttering constant swear words to himself. You took a deep breath in through your nose, braced yourself, then sunk down so he was fully hitting the back of your throat. You fought off the urge to gag, tears constantly rolling down your cheeks with the strain of it all. Just as you gained a solid pace and just the right motions, Levi pulled you back off his cock by your hair. You whimpered, pleading at him with your eyes. He urged you back up his body, holding you close as you finally climbed back up and settled right where he wanted you.
“There will be plenty of time for that later,” he said, kissing you and tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “But right now, I’m about to fucking cum, and a blowjob isn’t how I want our first time to end.”
You swooned when he told you, “This is about you, baby. Let me take care of you.”
He sat up and scooted back so his back was against the headboard. You followed him, crawling into his lap and guiding his cock back to your dripping heat. He kissed you as you sunk back down onto him, holding your sides to help you bounce up and down. You let your forehead fall against his shoulder and he held you closely, thrusting up into you and hitting just the right spot every time.
“I’m going to cum, Levi, Levi, I’m gonna come-“
He squeezed you tighter against his body.
“I am, too. Fuck,” he moaned much louder than usual. He gripped your chin roughly, pulling your face up from his shoulder to kiss you again. The second your lips touched, you came, spasming around him and whining as you released. Levi followed almost immediately after, scratching your sides as he let himself cum inside you. You moaned as he continued to fuck you through your orgasm for the second time, feeling dizzy as he filled you completely.
As you both came down from your highs, you realized just how overstimulated you were. Your entire body was shaking violently and you were clinging to every inch of Levi you could get your hands on, afraid of falling if you let go. Even though he was completely exhausted and his muscles strained with every movement, he reached his hand up your back and held you against him.
“It’s okay, it’s alright. I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere,” he soothed you sweetly, letting you go completely limp in his arms. You had no idea where this feeling came from, but you knew you needed him more than anything right now.
Levi shifted you both so that you were laying down once more. You hooked a leg over his, wrapped an arm across his midsection and nuzzled your face into his chest. Levi let you get comfortable and then placed his hand over your arm that lay across his stomach and used the other to twirl a strand of your hair around his finger. He kissed your forehead, realizing how sweaty and spent you both really were.
“(Y/N),” he whispered, making you shiver as he traced his finger over your arm. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.” You replied, voice sleepy and raw. He smiled to himself, beginning to untangle himself from you so that he could redress and find something to clean you up with. You whimpered in protest and held him tighter, wordlessly begging him not to go.
“I’m not leaving, baby. I promise I’m not going anywhere. I just need to go get something to clean you up with. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable when you wake up in the morning,” he told you, kissing your temple. You buried your face further in his chest.
“I promise I’ll be right back.” You looked up at him with a pout on your face that was too adorable for your own good. His cock twitched with interest and he had to stand to keep himself from pinning you down and repeating this whole thing all over again. He threw his pants and shirt on, not bothering to button up his top, and kneeled by the bed to kiss you one more time.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Hurry.”
“I will.”
Levi made his way back to the bathroom, a genuine smile playing at his lips. He was so in love with you he almost found it funny. He never, ever, ever would have imagined himself as anyone’s lover. And he especially wouldn’t have ever thought that he would be such a doting and attentive partner, but he supposed that was simply your affect on him. He hoped it never let up.
As he rounded the corner, pulling open the bathroom door, he saw Erwin standing there, washing his face. He turned when he heard someone open the door and saw Levi, Humanity’s Strongest, with a completely undone shirt, mussed and unkept hair, the remnants of a deep flush and a thick layer of sweat coating his skin. Looking closer, he saw the bruises that had already bloomed on his neck, and he was completely shocked.
“Oh- Oh my God.”
“Shut up.”
Levi walked in, ignoring Erwin’s stunned expression as he took a cloth and wetted it under the faucet.
“Oh my God.” Erwin said again.
“Shut the fuck up.”
“You actually- holy shit, Levi.”
“I said shut the fuck up.”
Levi wrang the water out from the cloth, shaking it free from any droplets, and exited the bathroom. Erwin followed in a hurry, needing any answers he could possibly get.
“What the hell happened?”
“Go away, you fucking creep.”
“Don’t give me that, Levi. If I came in the bathroom looking the way you do, you’d be pestering me with questions nonstop.”
“I wouldn’t, because I don’t care about your sex life.”
Erwin stopped walking, but Levi continued forward.
“You had sex?!”
He yelled way too loud.
“Shut the fuck up, Erwin!”
“Who had sex?” Hange asked, turning the corner to trade shifts with Erwin. The second she got a look at Levi, her answer was clear.
“Oh. Oh, shit, Levi. Did you actually sleep with her?”
“I’m going to kill you both, I swear to God.”
“Holy shit.” Hange deadpanned.
“He totally did.” Erwin confirmed.
“Levi, you sly dog! I didn’t know you had it in you!”
“It’s not like that. Cut it the fuck out.”
“Oh? Well, how is it, then?”
Levi walked past his friends as he said “I love her.”
Hange and Erwin were both back to being stunned stupid, only able to look after Levi as he made his way back to you.
“Don’t either of you even try to fucking tease her about this. Or I really will hurt you.” And with that, he made his way back to your room, cleaning you up and snuggling into the blankets with you. Erwin and Hange had yet to move, completely taken aback by Levi’s sudden confession.
“Well…” Hange eventually broke the silence. “It looks like your plan worked, yeah, Erwin?”
Erwin could only laugh in response.
“Yeah, maybe a little too well.”
