Chapter Text
Luffy thought being King of the Pirates, Who is the Freest man in the world, would be better than this. But it isn’t, not anymore. At first, he and his crew were the strongest in the sea, and nobody could defeat them. They helped the Revolutionaries with the battle, now that they know about the one piece, and changes the entire system. Things were good after that, the marines were changed so they don’t follow orders for the Celestial Dragons, and in fact those guys are gone now. Stripped of all their power.
.
But they still decided to attack them, they are pirates after all. The straw hats continues traveling for a while, but disaster struck. They were captured by the marines. No big deal, or so he thought.
They chained them up in a line with strong sea prison stone. He for one was chained to a post with many layers. Over baring much. Zoro, Sanji, and Jimbei were in a similar state. But he was sure Nami would find a way out. It was her specialty after all. From the corner of his eye, he could see her doing something, and he even noticed Usopp and Franky working something out. Yep, they would be fine.
“Well, Well, strongest man in the world huh. Seems pretty weak to me.” The ‘Caption’ said. He was an asshole from when he first introduced himself, so he was egghead. His crew agree. The man with a real egg face kept talking, but he was falling asleep. Oh well, there is nothing important happening. “BANG!” SHIT! Luffy looked around and saw Usopp was bleeding from his leg.
“Hay you son of a bitch. What the hell you think you're doing!” Sanji yelled. Someone shot at him, but his armament Haki saved him.
“Execution. Men, Shoot at will!” An array of bullets hit them. Usopp, Nami, Robin, and Chopper were taken out first. “YOU BASTERDS!” The shitty chains would not come off and his crew was dying and why the hell are they still shooting those bollets. He sent out a wave of Haki, and most of the shooters were out. What was left of his crew was Zoro, Sanji, Jimbei, Franky, and Brook.
“Second wave, Begin!” This time they sent out explosives. Brook and Franky didn’t make it. Franky should have, but they just penetrated his walls. Everyone else was gravely injured. “STOP! DAMMIT, FUCKING STOP!”
“THIRD WAVE, START!” No! DON’T. STOP TAKING THEM!
The next wave was acid. That shit hurt. It boiled through his armament, and he could feel it digging into his skin. Jimbei and Sanji went next.
“STOP!”
He doesn’t remember what happened next. Didn’t remember how he and Zoro got out. When he was conscious and coherent Zoro explained that the Heart Pirates came to save them, but everyone was to far gone to be saved. Apparently he destroyed the first Island they were at, and the second one became a battle field where he attacked everyone on sight. Zoro stopped him after the third day.
From there he just existed. He didn’t eat, sleep, or move. Everyone tried to help, but he didn’t want it. They had to force feed him. When he grew strong enough to move, he disbanded what was left of his crew. He couldn’t be with Zoro, after his failure as captain. Zoro was pissed, but didn’t argue. He didn't give min a chance to. That was the last time he saw him.
For the next few years he wondered aimlessly. Some people he met along the way tried to talk to him, to help with his loneliness, but they weren’t them. None of them had long noses, robot arms, or were made out of bones. None of them made the best meat, could tell a storm was coming before it was formed, or likes sweets as much as he likes meat. None of them read to him about some book, or stayed by him with the patients of a saint, despite his personality. He misses them, and they are not going back.
At first, he tried to finish their dreams. He found the All Blue, traveled, and attempted making maps for a world map, and even found all the ponoglifs. But none of that matters. He cannot make a map for Nami, show Usopp how brave everyone but him sees. He can’t read the ponoglifs, nore cook the food from the all blue.
Laboon isn’t waiting for him, he is waiting for brook, who despite odds, survived only to die when he was so close. He doesn’t know a thing about medicine. He alone cannot change everyones minds on fish men. He cannot accomplish their dreams, no matter how hard he tries.
