Work Text:
Izuku slid to a stop, his feet screeching on the cracked vinyl flooring. He stumbled as he took in the massacre that was the first-year entrance hall. Bodies litter the ground like gory streamers at a children’s birthday party.
Izuku choked back more tears but they just kept coming. His eyes burned from the tears as he saw the marred bodies of his classmates. He had already seen so much death and everywhere he went more seemed to follow. He scanned over the fallen bodies and he recognized each face of his fellow first-years. He choked back a sob as he saw the agony on his friend’s face. Shinso’s. Izuku stumbled over and felt for a pulse in his purple-haired friend. Izuku came up empty and he sobbed.
He hugged the boy close like he did with the rest of his friends and screamed. He screamed for the pain hot in his chest. He screamed for his first friends he had lost to the massacre. He screamed for his teachers he found dead or dying. He screamed for the friends he could not find. He screamed for his master of whom he held in his last dying breaths. He screamed for his family that he knew he would never live to see again. Lastly, he screamed for his mother, only wishing to be held by her once again.
As he screamed, he choked on the blood that traveled down his face. He sputtered and coughed, then choked out a sob. He looked around at the lifeless faces and hardened his resolve. He was going to avenge them even if it was the last thing that he would ever do.
With that thought gripping his mind like a twisted anchor, he gently set the tired, dead boy down onto the cracked vinyl and stood. He glanced down at the messy state of his clothing and sniffled. His white button-up was stained pink from the blood (That was not his own mostly.) and his dark green slacks were ripped in some places but mostly Intact. He wondered why he was so lucky in this and yet everyone was dead or dying around him. His heart clenched and he quickly bolted to the front door. He couldn’t handle the sight and smell of his dead classmates anymore.
He shoved open the door and the resulting bang rang out in the oddly silent front courtyard. He quickly saw why.
Just like the hall, bodies littered the ground. Most of them wern’t children though. Almost every single body was of some sort of adult. Hero, 3rd year, or even the occasional civilian. He choked back a sob when he saw the dead body of his sensei. He was the only teacher he had ever had that truly thought Izuku was worth his time. He knew even from his spot at the disaster of an entrance to the first-year hall, that the man was dead. He didn’t have eyes anymore and he hung from a tree. His capture weapon hung him like a noose.
Izuku was dragged away from the sight by a pained groan and his eyes locked onto familiar blond tufts. He sprinted to his friend and tripped falling to the ground. He looked behind to see he tripped on a hand, only a hand. It was feminine and well-manicured making his heart sink. Its middle finger had a band of black with ripped white fabric covering the palm. It was Midnight’s.
He heard shifting and a whispered voice say, “De...ku?” and Izuku quickly crawled towards the blond.
“I-I’m here Kacchan…” Whispered the greenet as he gently pulled the blond’s head into his lap. He stroked the spiky hair of his best friend to soothe the dying child.
“Heh… good t’see ya…” Kacchan slurred and took a ragged breath. “At least….I gedda look… at uh… angel… bufor...I go..” The blond reached a bloodied hand and cupped the greenet’s cheek. Izuku choked back a sob and clutched the hand closer to his tear-stained cheek.
“K-Kacchan-” The red-eyed teen cut him off.
“Leme talk... “ Izuku nodded shakily and let him speak. “I la ya nerd… lots… ya ma angel face…” Another shaky breath. “Let meh look at ya....Izuku...I love you…” His breaths slowed and Izuku sobbed but did as asked. He leaned closer so the blond could get a better look. He even forced a smile for him.
“I love you too Kacchan… I… please… don’t leave me…” Izuku moved his hand from Kacchan’s hair and to his neck. The blond was smiling up at him as he did this. He forced himself to feel every fading beat till the blond’s heart stopped.
“Kacchan...Kacchan…” Nothing. He pulled his face away his forced smile falling.
Izuku pulled him to his chest and screamed again. “KATSUKI!!”
He screamed and begged the world to give back the man he loved. He begged for his Kacchan back. He begged for the love of his life to be breathing in his arms again. He begged to be dreaming. He begged for this to be fake. He begged for the blond to wake up and laugh at him and kiss him silly. He wanted his world back and he felt so helpless. He shoved his face into blond locks and took a deep breath of Carmel. Even now it was quickly fading from the cooling dead body.
Izuku had one thing in mind now, this had to stop. Nothing was going to stop him from ending this all. He hardens his resolve once more and gently placed Kacchan onto the ground again. He paused and gently kissed the blond’s head and quietly promised he would end this.
He had to. For Kacchan’s sake.

Hisashi dropped the long-haired girl and relaxed. Her off-white locks splayed around her like she was in the water. Her eyes dripped with blood and her heaving chest slowed to a stop as she lay there. He lifted large hands to his face and felt every new feature that he had lost so long ago.
He felt his nose, pointy he noted. He took a deep whiff and smelt blood and burning corpses around him. He even could faintly smell the fresh air below it all and his lips crooked into a smile.
His hands slipped to his ears and he covered them. The piercing male scream was muffled by large hands. Like a child, he covered and uncovered them. He could hear the squawking of birds in the distance when he uncovered them. He could hear the scream he heard become hoarse and could faintly make out begging from the source. About a lost lover from what Hisashi could make out.
His hands trailed up into white curls and hummed softly at the tingling that followed healed fingertips. He ruffled his hair and the curls bounced to life becoming the mess that he used to always have to tame every morning. Maybe he would start keeping them like this, his wife loved to play with his hair after all. His wife… She would be happy to see him in person once again. Maybe even their son.
He moved his hands to the edges of his healed eyes and saw his fingertips poking at the corner of his vision. He pulled his hands down and looked around him. He glanced down at the child by his feet. Her eyes were blown wide with pain but showed no signs of life in them. Her horn was gone and Hisashi knew it was now atop his head. He turned his attention to the hero school just beyond the tree line he stood at. The school was nearly grounded. Only short towers remained of the wrecked hero school. Bodies lined in front of it and he smirked seeing his work with Eraser. He had a useful quick.
The villain opened his mouth and took a deep breath. Air filled his fixed lungs and joy quickly followed. He felt free of the shackles that were his now past injuries. He reached his arms high into the sky and exhaled. He relaxed into his fixed body and did a few more stretches. He pushed his body a bit with each stretch before standing up fully once again.
Finally, All for One smiled.
The moment was short-lived though as he heard rustling behind him and quickly turned around to meet fear-stricken green eyes. The greenet was in mid-reach for the small girl’s dead body. He smirked.
“Go ahead, ninth. Take her body. You will be holding a corpse again though.” All for One chuckled at this.
Yet being told the child was dead young Izuku still grabbed her and pulled her close. He pressed fingers into her neck and his green eyes blew wide.
“See? I wasn’t ly-” The tall man was cut off by the teen.
“Shut up…” His voice was a low growl. The child still held the 6-year-old close.
“Oh? Why should I listen to you? You are just a ch-” Once more he was cut off and he blocked a super-powered kick.
“I will defeat you!! Just you wait!!” Screamed the greenet as he was flung back by the white-haired man.
“Child you are being ridiculous!!” Snapped Hisashi to the small boy who was getting up and running at him once again. “You know it’s a suicide mission!!”
“Do you think I care you monster!?” Cried the child as a stronger kick was blocked by the 200-year-old villain. “My life only will mean something if I defeat you and end this bloodshed!!” Another blocked hit.
“You are a child ninth!! I was going to leave you alone!!” He wouldn’t kill Izuku. Never.
“You should have thought of that before you killed my Kacchan!!” His voice was raw with grief as he yelled. His Kacchan? What about Katsuki-Kun?
“What do you mean?” Growled the curly-haired man. What happened to the child? Sure he may have batted the boy around but he couldn’t…
“You know what you did you monster!!” No, he did not. Or at least he hoped he didn’t. He grabbed Izuku when he attacked again and threw him to the ground. He pinned the child down and the greenet flailed and tried to kick at him. “Let me go!! Let me go you monster!!”
“What. Did. I. Do.” Bit out All for One and this earned him a sob. Finally, he answers him.
“You killed him, you idiot!! You killed my Kacchan!! You killed the love of my life!! I had to sit there and hold him as he told me he loved me!! I had to hold him as he died in my arms!! I only just got to say that I loved him too…” Izuku slipped into sobs. His body shook under Hisashi’s hold as he continued to cry about the boy who would have finally been his lover.
Hisashi had killed him… there was no denying that. His heart dropped to his stomach as he listened to the sobs of his child. His son that lay below him… He pushed away from the pain in his chest and leaned down towards the child.
“And yet you come to risk your life with hate in your heart. You have failed, child. You sit below my boot and sob for a lost lover. Do you think he would have wanted this? You to risk your life fighting me with the intent of dying to do so? No. Even with his thirst to win he would not want you to die in this fight.” Hisashi hissed, stepping off the child, and grabbing him by the scruff.
“Yet you do. You know in your heart that he would want you to live for him. Yet- quit your squirming ninth. It’s unbecoming.” The boy gripped his arm and kicked towards him. His face was twisted in tearful hatred as he glared. The villain stared down at him in cold apathy.
“I don’t care!! Life isn’t worth living anymore!! I’ve lost everyone and everything!! I will lose my mother too if you have your way!! I’d much rather die trying to fix a wrong than live a life of a coward!!” Izuku tried to kick him with One for All coursing in his body. With a free hand, Hisashi grabbed the moving leg.
“Quit this nonsense. You are blinded by grief. You need to let it out properly.” Snapped the older man.
“Why do you care!? You are just a monster who kills people who hold his brother’s quirk!!” Snapped Izuku right back and the man forced the flailing leg to wrap around his waist.
Hisashi grabbed the other leg with surprising speed and forced it to wrap around him as well. He quickly let go and the child was forced to wrap his legs tightly around him. His arms wrapped around his neck with a yelp. “What-” The hero student was cut off by his father.
“It is my job to teach you. “ He wrapped an arm under the child to help hold him up.
“It is my job to help you.” He wiped away the tears that poured down freckled cheeks that were like his own.
“It is my job to be the shoulder that you cry on.” He pressed the greenet’s face into Hisashi’s neck and tangled his fingers in curly locks. Just like his own curls.
“It is my job to love you.” He pressed a kiss to his messy curls and pulled him even closer.
“Those are just a few jobs I do as your father.” He swayed slowly as he rocked his son in his arms. “So please, just let it out. Let out the screams, the sobs, the tears. Let out the words, the insults, the begging, the pain. Grip my suit, bite me, hit me. Do whatever you need to let the swirling emotions out. Please Izuku. If not for me then for your mother and Katuski.”
A scream rang out through the silent forest to be followed by a deep voice soothing him.
