Chapter Text
Basketball practice finishes later than usual on Thursday, leaving an exhausted Taehyung behind to recover a bit before heading home. The player is sprawled with his eyes closed on one of the locker room’s benches, listening to his teammates talk as they shower and get dressed. Gradually, everyone leaves and Taehyung finds the strength to sit up and go get his things from the locker. The boy makes his way to the rows of lockers, dragging his feet slowly, feeling too sleepy to take a shower now. Gross, but priorities.
When he is finally closing his training bag, the sound of the shower running startles him. Surprised that there is still someone there, Taehyung goes around the lockers and peeks at the shower stalls, curiosity winning over him.
He spots a tuff of black hair and pale shoulders and that is enough for him to know who they belong to. Min Yoongi, captain of the basketball team, Mr. Everyone Has The Hots For Me But I Don’t Care About Any Of You.
Yoongi has been on the team since his first year of college and had become the captain just after two months of joining, showing everyone his skills were incomparable. Yoongi was now on his third and last year and he only got better. Three whole years of being the best player and the hottest guy Taehyung has ever laid his eyes on. Unfortunately, those were also three whole years of Yoongi not directing more than a few words to Taehyung outside of the basketball court.
Everyone that speaks with Taehyung for more than ten minutes knows that he has a big crush on the captain of the team, seeing as he is incapable of not gushing over the older boy. However, his crush was, obviously, not reciprocated, since Yoongi could not care less about his existence. He wasn’t rude or anything, really. He was always nice to Taehyung in the times they spoke, but those conversations were scarce. So Taehyung had to settle for looking from afar with ridiculous heart eyes while Yoongi didn’t give two fucks about him.
Or so he thought.
While Taehyung lost himself in thoughts staring at Yoongi’s wet hair and shoulders, he didn’t notice the captain finishing his shower and coming out of the stall.
When the two boys lock gazes, the air around them shifts. Seconds pass by and it’s awkward, to say the least. Then, Taehyung realizes he must look like a creep and snaps out of it.
“Oh God, Yoongi hyung, I’m so sorry.” Taehyung says, panicking a bit. “I swear I wasn’t spying on you. I mean, yes, I was staring a bit at your shoulders but how could I not.” The taller boy says and immediately regrets it. “Wait, no, shit! I’m not a creep, I promise. I just thought I was here all by myself and then I heard noises and was just checking who it was, I’m too young to be murdered, you know-“ And then, all of sudden, Taehyung’s voice dies in his throat. “Hyung.” He whispers, after a few seconds.
The other boy is still frozen, with a towel only covering his private parts, hair dripping on his chest, staring at Taehyung with wide eyes, like he was caught doing something he shouldn’t have. And Taehyung understands why.
The expanse of Yoongi’s chest, abdomen and thighs have words scattered in it. Which isn’t something to be too surprised about, since those marks appear on everyone’s body when they shed tears over someone. Taehyung only has a few of his own since he isn’t that much of a crier. Some have his parents’ names, others his best friend’s and there is one of his ex that Taehyung isn’t proud about.
However, Yoongi’s body only has one name spread all over. It reads Taehyung.
