Chapter Text
Hizashi Yamada woke up at exactly 6:30, just like he almost always did. He looked to his side, and of course Shota was lying face-down, his face hidden between Hizashi's shoulder and neck, his arm draped over his husband's chest in an almost possessive way.
The blonde carefully disentangled his legs from the other's, then wrapped his hands around the hand that was holding him down to the bed, slowly pulled it up to his face, gave it a light kiss, and then tried to wiggle his way from under Shota's head without waking him up.
It took almost a full minute, but he finally got out of bed, the dark-haired man still peacefully sleeping.
He picked his glasses from his nightstand and put them on.
He went to the kitchen, and started brewing coffee. He thought about making breakfast. Since he didn't have any special ideas, he simply opted to make grilled cheese sandwiches. It was one of the few recipes which were least likely to lead to Hizashi setting their apartment on fire.
He wasn't bad in the kitchen, per se, but he was mostly only good at cooking dishes, which he already knew how to cook by heart. Any new recipes, well ... He would gladly let Shota experiment with food in his stead, especially if that meant, they didn't have to replace all the furniture in the kitchen.
The smell of grilled cheese soon filled their apartment. Hizashi set their coffee mugs and the plates with the food on the table, then returned back to their bedroom.
He slowly opened the door and looked inside. His green eyes met black ones, which were still only half opened. Shota had probably just woken up.
Hizashi smiled at his partner and signed 'Good morning, sleepy.'
Shota rubbed his eyes, then sloppily signed back 'Morning.'
The blonde walked over to his nightstand and picked up his hearing aids. He turned them on and put them in, so he could properly hear his husband's morning grumbling. And not a minute too soon.
»Ughh,« was the first sound that came out of the dark-haired man, who finally sat up on the bed, but still left his legs covered by the blanket. 'Time?' he signed to Hizashi, not seeing that the blond had put his hearing aids in.
»It's seven o' clock, just like always when I wake you up on a school day.«
»Ughh,« Shota grumbled again, and fell back on the bed.
»Breakfast is already on the table,« Hizashi tempted.
»Yeah, I can smell how delicious it is ... Is there any way I could persuade you to bring it here?«
The blonde smiled. »No.«
»Pleeease?« the sleepy man drawled.
»You're getting up. Come on,« Hizashi said, walking around to Shota's side of the bed and offering his hand.
»Fine,« Shota gave up. He took Hizashi's hand and finally got out of bed.
Hizashi kept holding his hand while he led the other to the dining area of the kitchen.
The sleepy man sat down on his chair. He spotted his coffee mug within arm's reach, and he quickly grabbed it, taking a few sips of the still hot beverage.
»Now, now, don't burn yourself with coffee,« Hizashi chuckled.
Shota smiled back, now certainly more awake than before.
They ate mostly in silence, and Shota was already done when Hizashi had barely eaten half of his breakfast, which was actually nothing unusual.
The blonde then watched his partner wash his own dishes and hurry out of the room, only to return with Hizashi's hairbrush. Hizashi simply loved it when Shota did anything with his hair, and of course the other knew that, so while the Voice Hero was still eating, Shota slowly and methodically started brushing the blond hair.
When Hizashi finished his breakfast, Shota was close to finishing brushing Hizashi's hair as well.
»You know I love you, right?« Hizashi smiled at the other, when his hair was finally completely disentangled.
Shota leaned down and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
»I know,« he said cheekily, and walked away. When he reached the bathroom door, he stopped, turned around and smiled. »And I love you, too.«
Hizashi washed his dishes as well. When he was wiping his hands, he heard the bathroom door open and close again; Shota was probably done.
The blonde checked the time.
7:19. Perfect.
He made his way to the bathroom, brushed his teeth, changed into his hero outfit, then started doing his hair.
It took him well over half an hour to come to a look he deemed good enough.
He walked back to the living room and found Shota in his hero outfit napping on the couch. They still had a couple of minutes left before they had to leave, so he sat down next to his partner and pulled out his phone. He checked some of the social media platforms to see if anyone had any special wishes for that week's radio broadcast, and found a few interesting ideas.
He then looked at the time, and saw it was already 8:07.
»Nap's over, let's go,« Hizashi said, slightly shaking Shota's shoulder.
»Mmh?«
»It's past eight. We're leaving,« Hizashi tried again, and that seemed to get the other man up as well.
»Okay, mom,« he whined anyway.
»Now, now, I'm definitely not your mom. If anything, I'm your daddy,« the blonde said, winking.
The blush on Shota's face was totally worth it.
»No, but seriously, Sho, we have to go.«
Shota finally got up, his cheeks still slightly pink, and they started their way towards the school.
