When It Isn't Like It Should Be

Summary:

Jesus, what is wrong with this world. How the fuck did Deku end up an alpha and I’m the omega?

Katsuki had always been sure he would present as an alpha and Deku would be an omega. But what happens the results are actually the last thing he was expecting?

Notes:

This is just a short introduction to my first a/b/o fic! I didn't want to have too many breaks so early on, so all this happened in the past, and from the second chapter on it'll be present day. As always, any thoughts/constructive criticisms are appreciated!

Chapter 1: Introduction

Chapter Text

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”  Katsuki stared at the slip of paper in his hand.   To Katsuki Bakugo, we have finalized your results.  Our tests came back that you are Omega .  Included are some helpful pointers and websites you should visit before your first heat.  Any questions, feel free to contact our office.

“What the FUCK,” he threw his school bag at the wall and stomped up the stairs to his room.  Slamming his door, he flung himself face down on the bed.  He felt his eyes burning, tears threatening to spill over.  Taking deep breaths, Katsuki forced himself to calm down.  Alright, so he was an omega.  “At least I’ll be a better omega than shitty Deku.” he grumbled into his pillow.

“Did you get your results yet?  Mine came in yesterday!”  “Oh yeah, I’m a beta like we thought.  What about you?”  “I’m an alpha!”

Katsuki paused in front of the door, dreading going in.  He could already hear his classmates going on about their stupid fucking results and he didn’t want to tell anyone his.  Not when he knew the look of shock and disappointment that would be on everyone’s face.  If there was ever a kid in their class that was guaranteed to be an alpha, it was him.  He wasn’t ready to be pitied yet.

Setting his face to his normal glare, he shoved the door open with his foot.  Hands stuffed in his pockets, he was trying to give an air of nonchalance while also exuding an aura of don’t fucking ask me.  Everyone looked up at him, but quickly went back to their own conversations.  “I know Bakugo’s results have to be alpha, there’s nothing else that makes sense!” He heard someone whisper from the back of the room.   Good, no one can tell.

“Kacchan!  Did you get your results yet?  I just got my letter this morning before I left for school!”  Izuku Midoriya stopped in front of Katsuki’s desk.  He could feel the excitement rolling of Izuku.   Why the fuck is he so excited, at best he’s a beta, at worse he’s an omega.  What’s he so happy about.

“The fuck do you think, shitty nerd.”  He was stalling, maybe he’d be able to hide this shameful fact for awhile before everyone started presenting.  “What are you so happy about anyway?  You that excited to be an omega?”

Izuku turned red, but kept eye contact.  “Actually, Kacchan, I’m going to be an alpha like you!”

The rest of the day Katuski moved in a haze.  He didn’t remember responding to Izuku, or any of his classes.  When he finally snapped out of it, he was leaning against his bedroom door, his bag slipping from his shoulder.  Nothing about this day made any fucking sense to him.
