Today was the day. Today her dad would finally return from Broadchurch. It had been almost two years since he’d left. Daisy had only seen him once since then, a few months back, when they’d been at that restaurant.
She was looking forward to having him in her life again. He would come back and, she was sure, that everything would be fine again. Him and mum would get back together, and her mum would apologise for doing everything she’d done and it would all be fine and Daisy wouldn’t have to sit across from David anymore.
Her mum would complain that she called him Daivd and not Dave, as everyone else, but she refused to make him feel more at home by using nicknames.

Despite her description being worryingly accurate to how he felt, he waved it off. “Don’t you have work to do?” He snapped, breathing heavily as he waited for her to leave his office.
