Unfortunately, old habits die hard and Sam cannot go through this again. Mary Winchester's betrayal is just icing on the cake that is his suffering. And Dean? Dean's always been his everything, so why does he let them hurt him?

His parents might not have been around, but Sam nonetheless had a mother who smiled at him and hung the sun in the sky just so he could see him better; had a father who put the moon in the dark sky so he wouldn't be scared, so he would know he was there; had a brother who gathered light in his hands and scattered the stars so he wouldn't get lost, so he could always find him.
A beautiful explanation of who Dean is to Sam, and Sam fully understanding that and knowing what Dean sacrificed for him ♥️

The writing was phenomenal - so sweet, so peaceful, such a lovely little slide into restful sleep-death. But good golly gosh, this was not what I came in expecting.
The reunion was so very....it was just...It felt like a long, relieved, sigh - a slow, healing release of breath. Not the reunion I expected, but one I loved dearly all the same.
I started tearing up at Din's '"You've been amazing, kid"' but then I read
"It's coming back to him, that old childish notion: his father will make everything alright" and the way this HIT me. Kudos. All the kudos.This whole fic gives off sweet summer's day vibes. It feels like being wrapped in one of those cooling blankets. It feels like sitting next to Din's little memorial in the sunshine - which is very appropriate, I think.

Poor Timmy needs ALL the hugs 🥺
Phenomenally written, in a way that squeezes your heart until it bursts. Every line is another stab in the heart. It's so descriptive, poetic almost, I can feel everything my poor baby feels and my heart aches for him. There are some stunning quotes to pull from this. Gold star for the 'subconscious', though, it makes for an excellent therapist 👍⭐
Also, as a little side note thing, the paragraph quoted is actually such a good explanation (??? not quite but close enough) of the different kind of wanting, at least to me. I don't wanna lose it, so I'm copying it here:
"And it's not a lie and it's not the truth either. It's– he wants to hurt Jason the way he wanted balloons full of investment shares to fall out of the sky when Drake Industries collapsed. He doesn't want to hurt Jason the way you want to go to a movie or ask someone out or get something to eat. He wants to hurt Jason as a wish, not an action. There's a difference."
