Summary
“I love you, Pads,” James murmured, the words torn from him in reflex, too small and inadequate, incapable of holding what he meant them to. “You know I do.”
“I know.” Sirius’s mouth curved into something that might have once been a smile, worn down by years of holding too much in. “You love me.”
Then, softer, lower.
“You just don’t want me.”
or
Five years ago, Sirius laid his heart bare to James, but James was not ready to meet him where he stood. Now that James has finally caught up, he fears he might already be too late.

Summary
“Padfoot?” he says, little more than a whisper.
The soldier turns. Metallic grey eyes that James would know anywhere look at him without a hint of recognition, their gaze narrowed maliciously as he growls, “Who the hell is Padfoot?”

Summary
A flicker of confusion crossed Sirius' face.
"A deatheater," he repeated.
Remus met his gaze. "What?"
"You've called me that twice now. Why is that?"
"Well, you serve under the Dark Lord's command, do you not?"

Sirius Black had never questioned the cause he had spent seventeen years of his life fighting for. The rules were simple: purge the Impure, restore the magic, and trust in The Covenant.
But when a soldier from The Order is captured - a creature, they say, a monster - Sirius is tasked with extracting secrets from it. He expects to find a creature worthy of fear, but instead he meets a boy, who speaks of a better life, ancient magic, and history that Sirius has never dared to question.
The boy in the cell is not what Sirius had expected.
And it is not Remus Lupin who breaks first.Bookmarked by Remi_32

Summary
It was then that Sirius Black realized he had spent the entirety of his life thus far submerged underwater, a slow and painful suffocation that had carried on for so long he hadn't even realized he was drowning. Not until Remus Lupin showed him what it was like to truly breathe.

Summary
When you step into the dance of power, victory brings power beyond imagination, but the price of failure is your very life. There is no mercy, second chances, and room for hesitation in this cruel contest. The path is clear—either you seize the throne with ruthless resolve, or you perish, forgotten and unmourned. Here, there is no middle ground, only the finality of fate.
You will do well to remember this game.

“You will listen to me. LISTEN!” Sirius steps up onto the railing. “The Brethren Court will still be looking here, to us, to the Phoenix, to lead. What will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No. They will see free men. And freedom! And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons. They will hear the ring of our swords. And they will know what we can do.”
He pauses, looking at those below him: James, Mary, Dorcas, Marlene, Barty… His eyes rest on Remus, hoping his stare says all the words he wishes it to.
“By the sweat of our brows, the strength of our backs, and the courage of our hearts… Gentlemen, Ladies… hoist the Colours.”
