Summary
Raising his head, he gazed up at the portrait beside him, immersing himself in Hua Cheng’s delicate brush strokes. The longer he stared, the more muddled his thoughts became, until one stood out well above the rest.
“I wonder if he’ll come and get me…?”
…
What an exhilarating thought that was.
The mere idea that Hua Cheng might come and personally whisk him away to Paradise Manor—all because he had the nerve to waste six days of precious time—was simply too much for his homesick heart to handle.
While answering prayers in Puqi Village, Xie Lian loses track of time, resulting in Hua Cheng being left alone at home for nearly a week straight. To make up for his blunder, Xie Lian accompanies Hua Cheng on a "date night" of sorts, which quickly spirals out of control.

Summary
He’d once tasted a similar pain long ago, but this blade had only grazed him then, and never once desired to leave its mark. It had sulked and begged forgiveness for its transgression, which Xie Lian had freely given. It had, after all, been an accident. Xie Lian hadn’t been its rightful target, and the blade’s killing aura had been tamed just before it struck, leaving him with no lasting effects. That day, there had truly been no harm done.
This time, however, Eming seemed to have driven itself into him entirely on purpose.
Gasping for breath amidst a sea of his own blood, Xie Lian struggles to remember what happened to him—and why Hua Cheng isn't there with him.

Summary
“Mind telling me what this is?” Hua Cheng asked.
Curious, Xie Lian brought a hand to it, and he traced the delicate filigree that ran along the edges of the box. Hua Cheng seemed to think that he knew what it was, but he really couldn’t recall. It wasn’t until his hand laid flat on the lid of the coffer that something suddenly clicked, and it brought a mortifying memory to the surface.
All the blood quickly drained from his face, and he clutched the lid tightly enough to whiten his knuckles, too.
“You already know what this is… don’t you?” he asked meekly.
“I do,” Hua Cheng confirmed. “But I’m curious to know where you found such a thing. Won’t you tell me?”
…
Nestled within the box was that dreadful child-bearing pill that was almost gifted to Hua Cheng a while back.
Xie Lian suffers the consequences (or rather, reaps the rewards) of hanging on to one of Hua Cheng's birthday gifts.

Summary
“How should I say this…?”
Looking up, Xie Lian was instantly transfixed, gazing deeply into an eye that wanted nothing to do with him and everything to do with the ceiling above. The longer he stared, the more enamoured he became with the tinge of red in the tops of Hua Cheng’s cheeks; so much so that he began to blush himself, though he didn’t know why.
“San Lang…?”
Finally, Hua Cheng looked back. His gaze was soft and his expression exceedingly delicate, as if it might break at any moment. “I’ve often thought about what it would be like if you were to take me into your mouth…”
A month into their marriage, Xie Lian comes to the stunning revelation that he's never initiated anything, vowing to himself that he'll stop at nothing to fix that.
