Summary
It was only supposed to be a one-time encounter—a single night to get it out of their systems before moving on. They had planned to return to hating each other and wait until the contract ended, so they wouldn’t have to work together anymore. But why were they so drawn to one another? They came from two different realities, and neither was willing to abandon their own. This couldn’t possibly develop into anything more than a physical relationship. Besides, the past wouldn’t let go, and the present kept interrupting what could potentially be a future between them.
But do either of them actually want a future? Or are they too entrenched in their own realities to see the bigger picture?
