Summary
From this vantage point, looking down at Buck, Eddie can see the disappointment still lingering at the edge's of Buck's expression. They've had similar conversations, notably following visits from the Buckley parents, where Buck doubts that the life he lives is full and rich because it doesn't adhere to someone else's idea of what success looks like. Normally, Eddie's able to talk him through it with a few thinly veiled insults at the kind of life Margaret and Phillip Buckley have led, compared to Buck's life of adventure and joy, but he's not sure that that particular tactic will work this time.
Instead, he lifts a hand to cup Buck's cheek, his thumb sweeping across the delicate skin under his eye. "I love Harry like a kid brother," Eddie tells him. "But he's wrong."
OR
Eddie and Buck have a conversation about becoming Theo's foster carer.

Summary
“It might sound crazy. Just- promise me you’ll keep an open mind.”
“I bet it’s not that crazy.”
“Just promise me.”
“Okay, I’ll keep an open mind. But I don’t think I’ll need to. I think we might be on the same page about this.” Eddie leans into Buck again, on the pretense of bumping shoulders, but lets himself linger there a little longer than usual.
Buck gives him an incredulous look. “Really?”
Eddie nods, reassuring. The anticipation is eating him alive. “Yeah. So just tell me.”
Buck takes a deep breath, and forces the words out in a rush. “I’ve decided I want to foster Theo.”
OR: Eddie plans to confess his feelings. Buck has something else on his mind.

Summary
“Why’d you go for the elevator?”
If Buck had asked him that while he was still laid up in a hospital bed, he probably would’ve shrugged and said, “That’s what my gut was telling me to do,” and turned it into a joke about, well, literally being stabbed in the gut.
But no, Buck asked Eddie moments after he’d had the abrupt realization that Buck is Christopher’s other dad, a thought he figured he could put right away and think about some other time—like sometime when he wasn’t looking Buck right in the face.
Or, Eddie comes over to help with Theo and comes to a few conclusions.

Summary
So, Buck has a date. Eddie knows Buck has a date because Eddie has been tasked with watching Buck's kiddo while Buck is on that date.
Which is why Eddie's stomach is in knots, trying to keep up with a tornado toddler. Definitely that. Definitely not that the love of his life is out on a date with someone else.
Or: Eddie and Chris watch Theo while Buck is on a date, and then Buck comes home.

Summary
“Are you okay?” Eddie asks. Buck has dark shadows under his eyes and his hair looks unwashed. He knows Pepa’s been watching Christopher for him while he was holed up in the hospital, but Buck looks like he’s been stuck in his own elevator.
“I’m not the one with a fresh set of stitches and orders for bed rest,” Buck says. He reaches across Eddie’s body to grab the edge of the duvet and tugs it over him.
