Summary
Danny grew up thinking he was suffering from an unkown illness and that everyone hated him for no clear reason. It's not until his parents (and over half the town) die that he finds out that they'd been hiding a lot about what he really was.
If only he could think straight, but he's suddenly so very thristy.
“How did you do that?” Sam asked.
Danny didn't know how to answer. He'd always been fast and strong, it was part of why the other people in the town didn't like him, but he’d never really fought anyone or anything before. He hadn't known he could. Danny looked down at his bloody hands and then back up at his friends and said honestly, “I don’t know.”

Summary
Valerie Gray landed in an alleyway in downtown Amity Park in a flurry of anger, dropping out of the night sky between skyscrapers and out of sight of curious onlookers like a dive bombing bird of prey. Her hoverboard folded away, adrenaline still rushing through her as she began pacing the alley.
"He got away," it slipped out in a growl, her frustration bubbling up like a pot left to boil as her ghost hunting suit slipped under her skin.
The fresh air didn't help her calm down.
She had finally had him, Phantom the wannabe hero and persistent monster of Amity Park, a well placed shot with her new speargun while he was distracted with another ghost, and it still wasn't enough.

Valerie Gray fails to catch a Phantom, and runs into a Fenton. -

Summary
Valerie fought off Phantom, which was normal, except he turned up almost immediately afterward unharmed but with a warning about doppelgängers, which wasn’t.
Or: Vlad’s up to his little cloning games again. Danny runs into Valerie and finds out that she’s been chasing Phantoms, too, which would have been great—if it weren’t just the beginning.

Summary
Danny definitely wasn't becoming more ghostly with time. He wasn't, and any thought that he was getting more ghostly was ludacris and stupid and definitely not true.
Because if he were becoming more ghostly, then that would mean Valerie would find out and she wouldn't like him anymore. So, on the off chance it was true, the only logical solution was to hide any sign of it, no matter what those signs were.
