Chapter Text
"Cale, wake up." a familiar voice called out to Cale. But he ignored it. He's dead after all. All he got to do is rest. F-O-R-E-V-E-R.
"Dongsaeng, wake up." the voice kept on rousing him from his slumber and thus he replied, "I'm dead. Don't bother me."
"CALE!!! WAKE UP AT ONCE!!!!"
The raised voice made Cale get up. Blood rose to his head because of the sudden movement. His surroundings slowly registered in his eyes.
'???'
He's not in a coffin so he's not dead. Was he revived or healed? But he wasn't in the Super Rock Villa, nor in the Henituse estate.
But the place was nothing strange for him. In fact, it was familiar. Very familiar.
The room had several beds and their respective bedside table, separated by curtains. Some equipments were rhythmically beeping. The smell of alcohol and medicine wafting through the air.
He was sure. Kim Rok Soo was sure. It was the very same hospital room where he received the news of his parents death.
He balled his hands into fists. The intense beating of his heart ringing in his ears.
"Cale, is there anything wrong?"
He turned to the bed beside his. It was occupied by a blonde kid who was giving him a worried look. "Your Highness the Crown Prince, is that you?" asked Cale.
"Indeed," replied the blonde kid.
"Why do you look like a kid?" Cale frowned.
"What are you saying? You too, look like a kid yourself."
"Huh?" Cale raised a brow and looked at his body. His hands were definitely small like that of a kid. His hand went to his face and he felt that his cheek were chubby like that of a child.
"Haaahhh..."Cale heave a deep sigh. He knew at once that he was in a very annoying situation.
His eyes wondered once more and fell on the bed adjacent to his. A sleeping black-haired kid occupied it. Cale knew at once who it was. He called out, "Choi Han."
The boy immediately sat up and instinctively scanned his surroundings until he caught sight of the two. "Cale-nim!! Crown Prince!!"
He flashed a confused expression, "You two became kids."
"Yeah. So are you." Cale blankly replied.
Choi Han scanned his body. After getting convinced that he did shrunk into a kid, he dejectedly hung his head low. He crumpled his blanket, "Why?"
Cale shivered at Choi Han's dark aura. He looked like he was out to kill in Cale's eyes. In Alberu's case, he immediately understood why Choi Han's mood was down. After all, it would definitely be harder to protect the prone-to-danger redhead in such small body.
"We have no idea as to why we are in a child's body." Alberu started their discussion. 'As expected from a royal,' Cale thought.
"When I came to earlier, a servant of this place was here and told me we were survivors of a crash and lost our parents to it." Alberu informed them. "I did not understand some parts of her explanation and thus feigned memory loss."
"Amnesia, huh? That was a smart move, considering that probably be the best we can do at this point."Cale put a hand under his chin, as if to think." But what do you mean about a ser...vant?"
Cale's voice became low. He looked out the glass window and, judging by the tall buildings, he was sure they're in a modern world. And from the apparatus, they were in a hospital. Thus, "A nurse, perhaps?"
Cale was trying to suppress a laugh from coming out. He knew he should be understanding that the prince grew up in a royal household of a western medieval time and would obviously have no idea of the modern world, but it was still funny for him.
Just thinking about the Crown Prince's would-be reaction once he sees cars and other modern devices was enough to make him burst into laughter.
Alberu, on the other hand, flashed a what-are-you-saying look. "A nurse?"
"A nurse is a person who takes care of ill or injured person while under recuperation or treatment." Choi Han explained in an easy manner while Cale tried to halt his laughter.
It was quite rare to find Cale smiling... purely, and much more to see him laugh. Thus, the two let him laugh out loud while trying to keep the memory of the laughing Cale etched into their minds.
"So, a healer then?" asked Alberu.
"The assistant of the healer, basically." Cale who just stopped laughing corrected the prince.
"Is this world,..the world you two come from?"
"Probably not." Cale answered while he glanced back at view outside the window. "It may be similar, but still different."
'That world is not as peaceful as this one.' Cale whispered to himself.
Despite the two not hearing this, they got what he was trying to say. And thus the air became serious.
"What's our next move?" the three got into deep discussions about their next moves and was plannning into the future much like how they planned the wars they have gone to in the world of the novel.
"Haah,"Cale heaved a deep sigh as he lied down on the hospital bed after their conversation.
'I'm pretty sure that shitty God of Death is the one behind this.'
And... whenever the God of Death is involved, shitty things happen.
