Chapter Text
It was a sunny afternoon. The wind however was cold outside, rattling on his windows so Mista was relieved he could stay inside all day. One of the perks of writing his thesis late he supposed. There were no extra classes to attend to and he could focus on research and work. This weekend he had no shifts though so he stayed home and unpacked the last of his moving boxes. He had moved out of his old studio and now had an entire apartment for himself, bathroom, kitchen, toilet and chores all included for nobody but himself.
There wasn’t much going on furniture- or decorations-wise but he had planned a trip to IKEA with either Narancia or Bruno, or maybe both. On his list were more bed sheets, a small table for his living room, maybe a rug or some throw pillows and kitchen utensils. A kettle most of all.
He felt stupid for always having to boil water in a pot just to drink tea. It had become a habit of his, not daily by any means, but every now and then Mista just made himself a cup. Mostly fruity flavours with his current favourite being pomegranate with apple and fig. Sweet enough that you didn’t even need any sugar.
Mista poured himself a cup of it and breathed in the steam after he set the teapot back on the kitchen counter. He then walked, cup in hand, back to the couch which was also his bed and sat down. He tasted a small sip before placing the hot beverage on the ground and took the blanket to cuddle himself in. On his laptop propped on a chair in front of him he opened Netflix and clicked on the Romance tab, searching for a movie to watch.
Suddenly his doorbell rang, disturbing his moment of silence and Mista set his blanket aside and went to answer the door. When he opened it he should have been surprised to stand eye to eye to Giorno again. He never contacted Giorno after the festival, nor did the blond try to reach out to him. And he could not possibly have given the other his new address, as he just recently moved here. But he did not care about trivial stuff like that. He simply said “Hi” to which Giorno responded with a breathy “Hi” of his own.
It seemed like he had gotten taller but it was probably just because he had more defined muscles now. And longer hair in an intricate braid sitting on top of his long open hair as well as his victory rolls. Freckles dotted his sharp cheekbones and he was wearing a second lobe piercing as well as a golden stud in his nose. But this was clearly still Giorno. Maybe even more so than ever before.
“Do you want to come in.” Mist asked and stepped aside.
“I would love to.”
“Great, I made tea.”
Giorno’s eyes lit up again, probably thinking of their first meeting which also featured a similar tea. At least that’s what Mista thought about. A bright smile spread across Giorno’s face. “Perfect.”
While they were walking in Giorno started talking. “You wouldn’t believe the people I met.. there was this one priest obsessed with the idea of gravity and how people...” And as Giorno continued talking and Mista zoned out he started thinking that maybe Giorno was right.
This was it.
This was perfect.
