Chapter Text
“Vampire?”
Rin's jaw clenched. Pitiful flukes of a small rhythm pounded unthreateningly in his ears. How treacherous and inconsiderate the greed of a sole vampire was. Not only was he not allowed to perish yet due to the obsession Isagi had over him, but now, he wanted to propose heinous pleasures? "You already devoured me. I allowed you to commit sins and blasphemy against my body, and you still can't get enough?"
If Isagi genuinely wanted to acquire and court him like he always claims, he should have known Rin doesn't tolerate awful jokes. "You want me to live as you?" Rin questioned bitterly, forcing himself to stare at the impudence of an excuse of a vampire. "Then let me die. Return my body and kill yourself in the end."
A conniving, starving smile crept Isagi’s face as Rin’s words lingered. Daunting down on their shoulders, each passing second slipped through Isagi’s weakened body. He gazed at Rin with hunger deepened into the greedy depths of his core. There wasn’t a glint of life, no matter his pitiful condition, yet he still played with Rin with daring eyes, like he was considering Rin’s offer. Rin knew Isagi too well though, he could see through Isagi’s shitty antics at any instance.
Whenever the opportunity would present itself, Rin’s first instinct would be to gouge Isagi’s eyes. Their uncanny, spiritless, abyss-like state they remained in was unsettling; they put Rin’s own to shame. His irises were an ocean blue, soulful and igniting, but the dilated pupils he would give Rin only screamed rabidness. “You know I can’t.”
Instead of his eyes, Rin’s hand went for Isagi’s throat. “Eat? You want me to become your savior, like how you supposedly saved me?”
Rin's pressure intensified with every taunting smile and genuineness Isagi gave. His fingers stayed firm, but his eyes remained wild, shaking and rabidly glaring down the ocean blue eyes, pouring out his obsessions and admiration for the human. "I'll choke you out. I'll snap your neck!" Growled Rin.
The vampire's grip hardened and reddened Rin's skin with every hardened turned and pull he would give Rin. "There's nothing you could do that can ruin me." Pulling on his black collar, Isagi ripped what he could off his shirt to reveal his neck and shoulder, cleanly pale and untouched. "Destroy yourself for a vampire."
"I don't want to!"
Isagi's hand grabbed Rin's neck aggressively for his refusal. His fangs were exposed and threatening with the look in Isagi's eyes, dull before shining in starvation. Rin could perceive the vampire was eager to have him fall into compulsion out of necessity, and for once in their miserable companionship, he could sense himself slipping. "We don't have time, Rin. Bite me." His alluring, void-like blue eyes glimmered a flash of gold before they quickly died out, consumed by the ocean of his irises.
Those damn alluring oceans. They always reduced Rin to his absolute worst and now, his end. Nauseatingly, Rin obeyed the words and bared his teeth into Isagi's shoulder. His body reacted instinctively and bit down into the offered pale flesh.
Disgusting.
So humiliating and disrespectful to his revenge. Rin did want to eat Isagi, but it wasn’t intended to save his life. He wanted to eat Isagi’s brain to the point it had become a craving of his, yet he went against himself by struggling to puncture his teeth through Isagi’s flesh.
Was it the urgency that caused Rin’s demise? He couldn't understand why he began to gnaw eagerly at Isagi’s skin, more or less sucking and claiming the meal, but there was no turning back.
He didn't know what type of pain it would send Isagi, considering eating pieces of him seemed to be a choice of last resort, but Rin didn't expect a moan. The vampire moaned loudly and muffled his whispers into Rin's shoulder. "Like that—ah—Yeah, like that. Keep eating."
Rin’s eyes narrowed. Wanting to spit out the skin fitting his teeth, Rin remained still in his position. Surprisingly, eating wasn’t as repulsive as Isagi’s body hitching against his. "I should have known this was purely out of your masochist ploys," Rin sneered, ignoring Isagi’s quivering hand holding on to his bicep for relief.
"It— It really isn't." Isagi struggled. He sucked on his teeth to refrain from causing noise and biting his tongue off repeatedly, but the occasional slips would still occur. "It's the endorphins, I—I didn't think the rumors were real—hgn!”
The chunks of meat were difficult to bite through. It hurt Rin’s jaw, having to relentlessly chew to swallow the bitter and difficult muscle tissue, but he shamefully relished the entitlement he had over Isagi. It was a euphoric type of pain; inflicting anguish on someone who reduced him to a half-human felt like a border step to his revenge. Rin wanted it to hurt; he knew experiencing cannibalism did, but the sounds emitting from the vampire had him believe that the experience...wasn't anything he wanted to wreak at all. "What does it feel like?" he questioned mid-bite.
A gasp escaped Isagi's refusal before he could catch himself. Nails dug into Rin’s skin, but he couldn't bother with the expected blood. "Like you're skinning me alive."
Rin wondered if that was Isagi's version of a joke in this situation. It wasn't funny.
"It hurts,” the vampire admitted. “What I’m feeling is exactly what you will feel if I do this to you.” Rin raised a brow at that. Hypocrite and ass flooded his head immediately. “But — Ugh, fuck,” he heaved softly, too quiet that Rin almost choked. “It feels really good when you do it.”
Huh.
Rin lowered his hands from Isagi’s shoulders and rested on his waist. He ate relentlessly, loudly, shamelessly, and pressed his nails into the pale slivers of Isagi’s runned-up shirt. Isagi reactively kicked his leg out, forcing Rin to keep it in place with his own grip.
"Deeper," Isagi ordered. His blue eyes were narrowed with such appalling delight; it almost strayed Rin away. Almost. "Bite harder."
“You taste alive.”
Rin couldn't get over it. The taste was crushing him into a blissful destruction. "You taste fucking amazing," he muffled in between stuffing his face into Isagi's nape and restraining the moans needing to release. It's ridiculous how everything started to fall apart. Isagi's blood triggered the seven-month-long starvation period in his corpse's body. The hunger began to consume his being, claiming him as a human once more, and ripped off a chunk of Isagi's throat.
A ragged sound flew past Isagi's lips. He twitched under Rin, pale skin running goosebumps, and bit down on his fist. "I fucking knew you were starving," he mumbled, eyes tightly shut. Quivery sounds spewed with the blood Rin began to shed, chewing and chewing relentlessly on the carcass. "You like it?"
"Fucking love it," he involuntarily admitted. What the hell.
Isagi laughed against him. "Could've just said earlier that you wanted to eat me instead of going months on an empty stomach."
"Hmm."
Blood spilled through the creases of Rin’s mouth. His chin was ruined in tarred poison, responsible for saving him seven months ago and inevitably actively currently killing him. Ironically, despite Isagi’s cold body, he felt warmth seeping from his cheek pressed against his ear, rubbing from how much Isagi was shifting. “I might as well relish in being a human for the last time.”
Weak fingers intruded into Rin’s hair. They roamed without coordination and eventually pulled the harder Rin bit into his skin.“I should've known, you’re really weird anyway. You're missing a pain tolerance; your cravings are inhumane. I don't like it. It's not human.”
Rin paused and stared at the destroyed shoulder he had been mauling. Visually, it was disturbing, but all he felt was incited to continue ravenously. “Good for you, then.”
Screams echoed in his ears from passersby and curious sightseers. Rin couldn't blame him; from their eyes, a supernatural creature was devouring and ravishing a human without remorse, only concern for his own hunger. Would they still react that way if they knew Rin was the human and Isagi was the vampire?
Well, two vampires in time.
“You’re not dying,” Rin suddenly heard. A statement of defeat in Isagi’s lenses, but it brought obvious confusion to Rin. “Your body will reject me.” Isagi muttered. “You’ll see side effects for days, but… your human body won't accept it.”
Isagi winced and placed his hand on Rin’s chest to stray him away from his shoulder. “Jeez, at least try to hide your excitement. Your heart's on the verge of cardiac arrest.”
Sweat drenched Isagi and mixed with his blood. As weird as the taste of salt combined with the meat of Isagi, Rin still didn’t stop until Isagi forced him to. “I’ll stay human?”
"Since you want to be," Isagi grumbled. "So, eat however much you want of me."
Rin remained still. He was eager to return mauling anything worth of Isagi, but being offered to do it out of his own accord was stifling. It was an indirect act of reciprocation of Isagi's feelings, disguised in an open meal wrapped in a bloody red bow that prevented him from following Isagi's words. Rin only cared to persist as a human to aggravate Isagi, and now that the problem was out of the way, his resentment towards Isagi stood in the way. Eat or resent Isagi, eat or resent Isagi....
The vampire cocked his head at Rin's silence. "Want to stop?"
An unnecessarily undone button revealing Isagi's collarbone and a sliver of his chest triggered Rin's acceptance with a dive into Isagi's shoulder again.
Expectedly, Isagi accepted Rin’s teeth. "So good," he purred. " 'S fucking good— "
"If I keep eating, will I eventually reach where you have my heart stored?”
Isagi stopped his praise. Revealing that he was still trying to retrieve less than half a heart disrupted any complicity. Rin swore he could feel his own heartbeat inside Isagi, reaffirming it was still pumping.
"You never could."
An overwhelming pressure heaved in Rin’s chest. "Is it...gone?" he questioned defiantly.
Isagi gave a short chuckle. "No, none of that," he confirmed. "It’s selfishness." With a weary breath, he closed his eyes and focused suddenly. Rin wanted to ask, but he remained silent when he was quickly answered before he had the chance. The devoured skin, tissue, muscle, and useless veins recovered on Isagi's body astonishingly, without leaving an imprint of evidence that it was once eaten.
Eyebrows furrowed at that meaningless statement. "...What?"
"What?" Isagi mockingly repeated. He smiled again, unsettling, and reminded Rin of his hold on his wrist. Rin couldn't remember when Isagi had touched him, or how he had allowed it to occur. "I refuse to return it."
The infamous taunting laugh, echoing in Rin's ears, returned him from the cynical exhilaration to face the monster he had been accompanying for the past months. The drugged blood pooling inside his mouth lost its amorous taste and began to taste for what the "food" truly was: poisoned vampire blood. He was aiding the very creature, the monster he had vowed to murder to retrieve his captured heart, to heal. Rin wasn't anyone to this beast but a mere prisoner he toyed with for amusement.
Bitter. Spitting out the excess toxin into his palm, he tried his hardest to reinstate the vampire blood into Isagi's system again. "I did this for you!"
His attempts were futile and pitiful. Isagi clutched Rin's wrist tightly and forcibly wiped the impurity onto his shirt, where it would lose all its effectiveness. For once, Rin felt helpless, and Isagi enjoyed the misery. "It's mine, Rin— Your heart, I'm keeping it!!"
Another wild scream was liberated, but it wasn't from Rin. His attentiveness narrowed solely to ripping Isagi's skin clean and completely ignored that Kaiser hadn’t disappeared. Thinking of it now, Rin had questioned the non-ceasing scream inside the club, but he regarded it as noise.
Kaiser was feasting on countless while Rin ate Isagi.
The German wouldn’t run with Rin’s heart in fear of Isagi, of course he would stay longer. After the damn conversation inside the club, Kaiser’s ego was worse than Isagi’s. How couldn't Rin see that?! Isagi could have gotten the heart back.
It’s selfishness, chanted like a curse in Rin’s head.
Bodies were dropping. Careless, that’s all vampires are, fucking careless and selfish. “Dead, you’re fucking dead Isagi!"
Isagi laughed in his face. Louder than before, his glee sounded sincere for once. He was healed, fed, and annoying. "Done with your tantrum?"
"I'm going to fucking emancipate you of everything!"
"All bark," Isagi continued to rile, forcing Rin down and closer to his body. The meat he had been devouring seconds ago was recovered without an inflicted mark from Rin's teeth. Squeezing Rin further, Isagi kissed Rin's ear. "You have a license, right?"
Rin couldn't think. Vulgarity ran his head and reflexes, but with Isagi restricting him, he squirmed in his strength. "Die."
Immediately, Isagi was away from him and sitting in a black passenger car seat next to Rin. A steering wheel was tightly held in Rin's palms, paired with unrecognizable keys inserted into the ignition. His foot was on the accelerator, increasing pressure on the pedal every second Rin took to cognize what Isagi had done.
Isagi never allowed Rin to experience his paranormal speed until moments ago. The effects were... grave. His ears bled as they rang terribly, and the blurriness in his eyesight wasn't soothing things. Anticipatedly, Isagi reached over, forcing his bloody wrist into Rin's mouth, and muttered "Heal," quietly. They fled. Undeniably, they ran from someone for the first time in their shared experiences. Isagi's hair was a riot, and Rin could only assume his was too. Too much vampire blood was within Rin's system, overwhelming his adrenaline beyond capabilities.
Fabricated composure was lost at a stolen glance. Rin listened to Isagi hysterically laughing his heart out to him uncontrollably at his side, cheeks flushed red. Identical to his manner in the alleyway, Isagi looked out the window away from him after he deemed Rin had enough to feed on and took his wrist away. "Continue our romantic cruise, and I'll give you my left eye. Fair, right?"
Rin was left to presume his face was as charred in red as Isagi's. Crashing was an impulse his urges wanted to follow. "Die!"
“Crash wherever you want, I’ll just heal you again.”
“Don’t fucking test me!”
Adrenaline poisoned Rin’s bloodstream. If it weren't for the headlights and Rin’s pressing foot on the accelerator, they were borderline roaming on a ceaseless road amid darkness. Isagi clenched onto his shirt and shifted uncomfortably in his seat, catching his breath over the accelerated turmoil of Rin’s leftover heart.
Rin could succumb under the pressure of the forced setting. An unnatural quietness flooded into his head followed by a ringing in his ears, as if his body was merely adjusting to the speed of Isagi’s abnormality.
“...You’re so whiny.” Rin finally heard teased, implying whatever pleasure was amusing Isagi.
That did it. Rin pressed on the pedal, applying intensive pressure and aimed for the ram intended to prevent the accident he was going for. The rails were old, hardly maintained, and the car went through the wooded planks easily.
The fall shook through Rin's bones like a shot of ecstasy. Whistling filled Rin's ears as his grip hardened on the steering wheel, bracing for impact, until Isagi's hand grabbed his arm. Rin could hardly hear him, but he could read the urgency from the increasing pressure of Isagi's hold on his skin.
Aside from whatever Isagi was trying to attempt, Rin felt his body being flung out the car window, holding on tight to Isagi. Rin felt crushed under Isagi's vampiric influence. He watched the black luxury car fall from the cliff at an alarming speed. It was unfortunate. He had a car similar to that style at Sae's penthouse. "Birthday gift," supposedly.
Forget the car— Isagi ruined Rin's petty revenge.
Ringing blooded Rin's ears. He couldn't hear Isagi's breath or screaming, arguing back with him when he couldn't understand he was speaking in the first place. Vampires can't fly though. And Rin felt the turmoil as they fell through the sky, no matter Isagi's endeavor to shield his own body to prevent the collision's effects from Rin.
Inevitably, he blacked out sometime somewhere when falling, arms still wrapped over Isagi's shoulder and neck.
Grass thread through Rin's hair. Rin found himself lying on an overgrown field, circled in tall, ceaseless trees, and Isagi looming over him. His hair was flat, face dirtied in what Rin assumed was from the crash, and his eyes remained on Rin's face. There wasn't a trace of blood from Isagi, and from Rin's returning cognition, he still wasn't healed. "You're awake," Isagi blankly stated, lifting a finger and poking into Rin's cheek.
It felt like a digging needle.
"You're alright," Rin muttered bitterly. He knew getting into a car crash wouldn't inflict anything on Isagi. Reflecting on it now with Isagi perfectly composed beside him, Rin didn't understand why he destroyed the car.
"Mad?" Isagi lifted a brow giving a short smile. "Or unfulfilled?"
Under Isagi's rapturous eyes beneath his normal ploy, Rin felt compelled to answer. Isagi's blood influence was keeping strong to be beneficial if it healed him. "Hurt."
"Cute."
"Go to hell."
"Ha," Isagi blankly said. Overlooking Rin's injuries, Isagi laid beside him on the meadow. Ocean eyes didn't respond to teal irises. Rin studied Isagi openly, watching as he lost himself to the night sky. Stars were engulfed in dark. The moon was hardly present. They shared the quietness for a second before Isagi ruined it. "Keep away from Kaiser."
Rin bit on his tongue. Since when was the implication that he wanted around Kaiser there? Rin's decision to even stay longer with the drink beside Kaiser was because of Isagi. It wasn't a crafted interaction that he planned because of the German's and Isagi's potential past that Rin wasn't aware existed, but now that he knew...
"...Who is he, though?"
"The worst."
Rin hummed. He thought he had that title; apparently not. "You seem close."
His so-called "curiosity" amused Isagi. Don't get Rin wrong; he wasn't intrigued in digging into Isagi's history with others. He only asked to secure himself. Whether Isagi could acknowledge the fact, it didn't matter. His triumph (as if he had won Rin's affection— he didn't win shit) was obvious with the cynical grin he gave to the stars, avoiding Rin's eyes. "As if. We fight over territories, don't be jealous."
If Isagi's purpose tonight was to aggravate Rin, he succeeded. Clenching his jaw, Rin held back from accusing. They didn't owe each other an explanation. "Console yourself before bothering with me."
An immediate short laugh followed, unbelievably. “Is this about earlier?”
The half-hearted comment furthered Rin’s ignited anger. What else could it be? The damn past seven months? “I want you dead.”
Isagi rolled his eyes and grinned. “Just dead?”
Scoffing was all Rin could offer for a response. Again, with the implications, his indirect accusations, whatever intentions he held— damn it, Rin was tired of it. "I don't like you."
“Right.”
"Then quit acting."
"You quit acting," Isagi jabbed. "You want me."
Rin furrowed his brows. "So?"
—Man, fuck Isagi.
"So, quit acting bratty and let me turn you."
Isagi's stare had grown intense. Well, he had warned Rin way earlier during their first shared dinner that he was going to force Rin to choose his fate. Vampirism or getting devoured correctly— that was lame. He wanted to be human to torment Isagi of his own vulnerability. As long as Rin has the possibility of dying, he'll always win over Isagi. "You want me as a human."
The vampire didn't agree at all. He scowled harshly, like he couldn't believe the casualness of Rin's words. "The longer you stay human, the heavier my urges to maul you with my teeth grow. Are you trying to die?"
"You killed me first, hypocrite."
"Staying as a vampire with me keeps that from occurring, Rin."
Rin stared at Isagi with knowing eyes. How was he supposed to respond to that? Rin would always remain a human, no matter what attempts Isagi would try to salvage Rin's life. The time with Isagi was limited, and they both knew the only way to break the withering collars locking them to each other was to turn Rin into a vampire. Regardless... "I'll always be a human, Isagi," Rin soothed to console himself, assuring. "You and I were never supposed to meet."
Isagi wouldn't return Rin's gaze.
In their shared seven months, there wasn't anything that defined their relationship besides the trapped heart. Rin thought of Isagi's accusation back at the club. It was true, Rin did know how to retrieve his heart from Isagi. He had indirectly proven it back in the alleyway by eating more of Isagi than necessary, and the thing was, Rin knew he could restrict Isagi long before his conversation with Kaiser.
With a corpse for a body and a missing pain tolerance, Rin could have retained it the day after his devouring, yet he was still beside Isagi. “...I’m not a vampire like you, Isagi.”
Rin noted how Isagi's jaw tightened. He heard him swallow, the truth, Rin doubted, until Isagi finally released Rin's wrist. The cool on his skin felt unwelcome. "I know."
…Then why can't we act like it?
He thought of Kaiser unwillingly. Annoying, blue rat tails, chasing a jack rabbit with unsettling eyes. Eyes, quickly, Rin thought of Sae. Wherever he was in Spain. "You want to eat me again, right?" Rin proposed suddenly.
The insects fell still. Rin hadn't noticed them before much, but in their dominating silence, it was numbing.
"I'm not eating you."
"Idiot, of course not."
The corpse lying with Rin became stone again. Beady blue eyes with dilated pupils reflected nothing compared to the stars swimming in Rin's irises. Isagi was starting again with his vampire bullshit. "Then?"
Rin wanted to mimic Isagi's corpse attitude for once. He didn't want Isagi to get any reaction that would initiate in his head that Rin was currently... cautious. "My blood," he softly presented. "Drink it."
Isagi was on him instantly.
Fangs hardly met clean skin when Rin finished his sentence, but a harsh puncture seeped into Isagi's stomach. "—!"
Rin pulled the glass shard he had pocketed from the crash from Isagi's body. "Not like that— Turn me, and I'll hunt you for eternity!"
"I really can't ever scare you, can I?!" Isagi cursed, hurling over Rin's body and maintaining him under. Fighting Rin over the shard, Isagi eventually won by slamming Rin's wrist into sunken dirt, where holding onto unprotected, vampire infected glass became unable to handle. Rin released it and winced at the cold kissing his freshly inflicted cuts on his palm and fingers.
Again, Rin's blood was seeping in front of Isagi. The vampire stared at the split red lines in dangerous awe, eyes ravenous to devour before he looked at Rin again. "Take the offer back."
"Drink."
"Rin!"
Rin wanted to die, knowing he couldn’t for once. Remembering Shidou of all people to have a vague idea on how to wreak Isagi for the night was lower than anything he had ever stooped for. Isagi’s eyes remained mercilessly still on his own, waiting for any initiation that testified Rin’s complicity.
He followed with a last venture that Shidou taught him early on. It was still deemed unsanitary to Rin, but knowing Isagi, this was the only form of accepted docility that proved vulnerability. Rin bit his tongue off.
In truth, Rin was mourning for Isagi's blood right now. The tarnished poison always healed Rin, and since the crash, Isagi still hadn't played healer on him yet. Rin wasn't keeping still out of will— his spine felt mutilated again.
The bloody scent was faint enough to coerce a reaction from Isagi. His pupils dilated and his breathing became irregular, yet still, he looked away from Rin. "I said I wasn't going to," he murmured quietly, hungrily, and twitched over Rin to distract from the smell.
Blood overflowed in his mouth and spilled through the cracks. Eventually, he spat out his tongue simultaneously with wasted blood beside him, overwhelming Isagi's vampiric senses. Rin withheld his startlement when his tongue healed without the use of Isagi. "You always lose it when it comes to my blood." Rin derided ghastly, revolting at the distressing taste continuously flooding his mouth. "Then drink."
"I could bite you when you're out," Isagi warned. To prove himself, his hand flew for Rin's jaw and forced him to look up, exposing the desirable craving. Immediately, he nuzzled himself between Rin's neck and shoulder, dragging his teeth across the clean, unmarked skin, and stopped when Rin noticeably stiffened. Isagi's smile, pressed against his Adam's apple, felt incredibly aggravating. It was a reminder, a constant replay that whatever ploy Rin could construct against Isagi, he would always fall to the vampire in the end. He was toying Rin once again. "You could sleep now and wake up dead the next day."
Rin's hands instinctively found themselves around Isagi's throat. He wouldn't throttle yet to contain himself and lessen the chances of Isagi tauntingly digging at least a fang into his skin to rile him up for amusement. At least that confirmed his spine was somewhat intact. Licking a stripe from his collarbone to Rin's mouth, Isagi didn't kiss him again. "You're putting too much trust in me; this isn't like you."
Of course it wasn't like Rin to give himself so easily. He would never put himself in a vulnerable position knowing Isagi was itching to sink his filthy fangs into his throat and claw through the remains of Rin's heart. "Yeah," he agreed hoarsely, tightening his grip on Isagi's throat. Knowing it was useless to choke was disappointing, but Isagi didn't seem to agree. He groaned and fluttered his eyes, leaving himself unshielded. "But you couldn't do that to me."
It was a risky approach to test Isagi's obsession. His eyes narrowed questionably and looked down at Rin, encouraging him to increase the pressure around the flesh in his power. "You believe that?"
“You prove me wrong every day,” Rin said irritably. Isagi never held any regard or care for the destruction of Rin. He did as he pleased and dragged Rin around like a breakable doll, who only received attention when it was his turn to torment when he didn’t have to. Isagi had strength, speed, agility at his advantage to slaughter Rin, but... he was still kept around. Isagi's obsession had unintentionally kept Rin protected. “But you could easily turn me into a vampire and effortlessly take my heart's remains for yourself.”
“I still could.”
“But you won’t. You’re disturbed of me, remember.”
That shut Isagi. Leaning towards Rin, he remained locked on sea teal irises boring into him.
Isagi's eyes said nothing to Rin and remained dark. Whatever Rin's irises told Isagi gave him the last push to abandon his restraints and dismiss the space between the two.
He pressed his lips on Rin, unsure for a moment, until cautiousness was cowardly. Isagi grabbed Rin’s chin to pry his mouth open and slot his own in the gap, wincing when Rin unexpectedly reciprocated. He sealed his lips around Isagi tentatively, shyly almost.
That was never the intention. Rin wasn't shy — tense, sure, but it fed into Isagi's depravity. He tilted his head suddenly and invited his tongue inside Rin's mouth dominantly, desperately, and held Rin's face closely. Discovering and conquering Rin's clash, the blood seeping out of Rin was tainting every crevice and arch of Isagi's mouth.
Deepened into Rin’s mouth, thick blood ran inside his mouth as it tarnished his teeth and tongue, oppressing anything human-like within Rin.
A groan snuck out Isagi. It was pitchy, feral in thirst and greed. If it weren't for the moan followed after, Rin would have allowed the sound to roam around them without addressing it. What a novice he tried to provoke, when Isagi stopped him from disputing. Isagi's tongue abruptly exceeded his, drinking the blood and sucking on Rin’s tongue to satiate the famishment Rin had established against him.
Isagi's fangs were uncomfortable against his mouth. Their length should have warned Rin it wasn't something he could ignore, but he didn't anticipate his blood to pool inside so easily and early. One move, and Isagi's fangs smashed against his teeth and brushed his gums without remorse, relying solely on his starving desires to consume Rin.
The bitter red formed the crude taste of the kiss. He was practically choking on his own blood while Isagi ravaged the course he offered, guiding the swift pace of massacring Rin's lips. Saliva began tracing downwards to Rin's jaw and grazed his earlobe. A small heat began to emit over where Isagi's chest pressed against him, confirming that the transition was working. Rin was rapidly getting drained and exhausted, and Isagi began to get hotter.
Warmth and an electrifying rush began to consume Isagi. The rose tint on his cheeks emitted heat that Rin could feel brush against his own. Whether a transmission of energy through a kiss was as effective as it was proving to be, the momentum it took for Isagi's temperature to rise and mimic a human was thrilling. Isagi was surely eating Rin alive once more by stealing his conserved energy, and for once, he couldn't care less.
Until the hiccups came.
He underestimated the fatigue gravely. Kaiser's words underplayed the debilitation by calling his boyfriend “Bloodbag.” Honestly, he felt stupid for listening to a vampire's word when they weren't the ones proposing the energy. His eyes were dropping, barely open at this point, and felt unbearably hot.
Isagi's body was like a furnace. Rin wanted to recoil from the burning imprint of Isagi's hand, forcing his jaw in place. The fluttery warmth that lasted less than Isagi's carefulness with Rin was replaced by a burning sun who hadn't realized he was overwhelming Rin.
God, it hurt. Rin was fucking infatuated.
An inexplicable sound filled his ears when Isagi forced himself off his mouth. "Stick your tongue out," Isagi huffed, bathed in sweat, and with a newly recovered tint on his face. Isagi's eyes looked clear without the glassy obscurity facade of the vampiric look he held. A deep beautiful dark blue, similar to sapphires, met Rin as they waited for him to comply.
Rin hiccupped in response, and Isagi accepted it. Having not realized it, he was shivering madly yet sweating from the gleaming sun above him. Close to kissing fire, Rin lasted less than a minute before turning away and letting Isagi dive his tongue into his ear. “Kill.” With the rate of Isagi’s temperature increasing without a foreseeable end, continuing to kiss him would make Rin die from dehydration soon. “Kill….Killing. You’re killing me.”
Isagi laughed in his ear. It sounded similar to the one he gave in the car before crashing, deepening Rin's desire to weaken Isagi. Why wouldn't Isagi be amused? He was on the brink of breaking Rin. "Fuck. If I can wreck you like this while I'm half human, imagine me as a vampire," he continued unhelpfully. "Fun, right?"
No, not fun, Rin couldn't say. As they were now, kissing whatever version of Isagi was to reduce him to sleep; with Isagi as a vampire, the endpoint would be Rin's funeral. He wasn't willing to die twice just to kiss vampire-Isagi to salvage his pride.
"Wrong," Rin eventually answered.
That remark won him another bruise on his lips. Again, he invited it at the fastest pace he could while suffocating and dehydrated.
The afflicted injuries were euphoric.
He wasn't aroused, but... Rin's core burned fire. Burning incredibly hot. He was sweating intensely, and having Isagi's body over him induced Rin to havoc. Rin began to move his hips against Isagi, a signal to have him off his waist. Reactively, Isagi parted and jolted from him with a thrown head back, quietly moaning through the blood stolen from Rin.
Isagi looked disheveled on his waist, borderline shattered. "God, you… You make me thirsty."
Rin knew. He wished the thirst he conjured out of Isagi was an exaggeration and more of a craving instead, but nothing would fulfill him when it came to Rin. Whether he played as a blood bag or entertainment to the vampire, Rin's influence on Isagi was a permanent flaw he had inflicted.
Good. Isagi shouldn't know how to live without him.
"Why haven't...." Rin struggled, slurring his words and weakly clawing at Isagi's neck. Light red scratches followed as Rin's fingernails tried to dig to regain distance, seemingly tickling Isagi instead. "...Why haven't you knocked out yet?"
He could feel Isagi's smile pressed against his lips. It felt sincere for a moment before Rin suddenly realized Isagi was only getting off at the possibility of scaring him again, the creep. Isagi ignored his question and the growing scowl crushing his grin and continued to kiss him without relent. "Why are you asking? Are you about to lose consciousness? That worried, huh?"
The thousandth hiccup was interrupted with another crush of Isagi's fangs on his teeth. Isagi stole, stole, and endlessly stole whatever breath Rin could catch on. "Scared?" He challenged.
Rin wished. He craved for the dopamine again. The returned feeling rushing across his veins was relapse, like a long drag out of cigarette after claiming to quit months ago. He understood what Isagi signified when he said Rin tasted alive. "You wish."
"Ha," he retaliated, falling short in unwelcome exhaustion. "Knowing you, once my blood processes in your system, a hug would kill you instantly. You won't be able to handle the heightened senses, Rin; it takes restraint that you know nothing about."
Rin scoffed at that. "Like how you're managing being half human? Your power gets slightly reduced, and you act as if you're dying?"
"Shut up, it's my bones," Isagi huffed. His eyes strained, causing a pleasing contrast of Isagi's lifeless dark eyes against the humiliating tinted pink on his cheeks. He was awfully human. Humanely weak. God. Rin wanted to crush him underneath his body.
Skin cold as glass was now warmer than his own. Rin wanted to feel it. He wanted to consume the sensation of deliberate vulnerability Isagi held, now that he couldn't weaponize it to Rin. The heat was easily sensible on his hips, but touching Isagi underneath was another line he wanted to breach while he could.
Ruining Isagi enough to damage his pride wouldn’t be difficult if sitting on Rin was causing such a drastic reaction. A light push on his back toward his chest, a hand on his waist, or a subtle grind while he sat on his lap would be effective enough to destroy Isagi’s concept of obsession. Whatever boundaries or bounds he held or knew about admiring a muse, Rin would redefine that for Isagi. Rin would show him what obsession feels like.
Isagi had healed him anyway.
“You don’t know shit about worshipping, Isagi,” he mockingly whispered, low enough so Isagi couldn’t hear him. “I’ll make sure to show you.”
Isagi’s eyes narrowed questionably for a second. He could sense the absurdity of Rin’s silent future affirmation, but he paid little mind to it. “Bones,” he spouted instead.
"My bones feel so fucking heavy," Isagi continued, head bobbing weakly. Shiny blue eyes lost their dark charm and forfeited to the human limitations reforming over his now warm, corpse-like body. "Like... I can finally feel them again." Falling to Rin's human blood tempting him to rest, a greater portion of his vampirism temporarily lay defeated. "The shit I do for a spoiled human who has a stick up his ass," Isagi mumbled tiredly. "I think I'm about to yawn for the first time after centuries."
Centuries. That concept again. Right, this wasn't Rin— this was Isagi's shitty blood influencing him like what his blood was doing to Isagi's body.
Rin could always count on Isagi's idiocy to release him from the goddamn lustful impulses of his heightened emotions. How the hell did Isagi resist them? Worse, how could Rin lack his own composure over Isagi of all people? Gross, he could sense his scowl growing over submission emitting on his cheeks. Blushing, yeah right. "Knock out."
That straightened Isagi for a second. "Fuck no, when I finally have you under me? No... Nah." His teeth flashed as Isagi's grin widened. The collared button-up shirt rose with his chest at each given breath, proving the temporary defenselessness he had against Rin. Trickles of sweat drenched the collar and dripped off his hair, onto Rin's clothed stomach, until Isagi leaned in closer, daringly near his mouth, and fell onto his nose. From this distance, it confirmed Isagi's possible fever, but it was difficult to focus solely on that. He looked... pathetic. "Hey, let's— let's do a quickie."
Isagi was weirdly desperate. So damn weak too. Frail. Breakable.
Rin almost held him by the waist, whatever that meant for him.
"Human urges are so fucking strong... and you still haven't lost to impulse. I'm beginning to think you want me alive."
Isagi's eyes stayed locked onto his own. The rabidness remained in his irises, but an unusual fragment began to form. Nervousness. Nervous of whatever switch could flip in Rin with one wrong push. The roles were fundamentally and conventionally reversed.
Rin swallowed. His mouth parted, but nothing released. Nudging his nose to nuzzle with Isagi's, he continued to listen to Isagi's heart to maintain his anxiety over him afloat. "Why would I want that?"
Anything Rin had ever thought of Isagi was spilling through the dams and disputed for control of Rin's temporary vampiric body. Killing Isagi and an unnamed second compulsion held a tying lead, but the response to Rin's question would end the stalemate.
Recklessly, Isagi lifted a finger and pointed repeatedly at Rin’s chest and his own slightly opened mouth. “I felt your rapid pumping from the first bite. That, the first swallow tells me everything: from it, I feel your emotions overlapping mine as I devour you."
...That was an answer. Irrelevant for a moment, until the information lingered longer above Rin's head.
Rin couldn't conclude whether temporary consolidated emotions were a good thing. It was an outlandish revelation that Isagi should have said earlier to him. After a second to recover, Rin realized what Isagi was saying about the first bite wasn't information— it was an accusation. "You were intoxicated out of your mind, "Rin recalled. "Thrilled... you said I was healthy."
"So damn healthy," Isagi pleasingly repeated. "And awfully, awfully psychotic. When I ripped out your spine, I realized then that I was excited while eating you."
A beat pumped in Rin's ears, followed by another. Since he wasn't an actual vampire and only experiencing side effects of drinking a hundred-year-old blood, he was still considered alive. A pumping heart remained his for as long as Isagi protects it, to his amusement.
His heart's protector and a damn culprit as to why it's missing in the first place was accusing him of the insanity.
"...Don't Isagi," slipped past him with terrifying ease. Almost like Rin knew what Isagi was insinuating, his hand returned to squeeze Isagi's neck. The applied pressure on his tips was enough to force a cough from Isagi, but he continued to smile erratically, tauntingly. "You're lying."
“I can’t lie to you.” Isagi suddenly pressed his ear to Rin's hollowed chest, where, expectedly, nothing was heard. Rather, a twenty-four-year-old heart continued to beat harshly inside of a centuries-old vampire without regard for human life, with the exception of one. "You want me alive for the thrill and adrenaline I give you, pervert.”
The accusation was quick to say. There wasn't room for denial when Rin knew that was wasted time he couldn't lose. "I loathe you."
"That's not how you pronounce love."
He frowned at that. “You don’t love me either.”
Isagi’s grin wouldn’t cease. “You believe that?”
Rin remained staring at Isagi, eyes narrowing.
Something tightened in Rin. His temperature increase felt immoral— he wasn't feeling sick. Sick to his stomach mentally, maybe, but not physically affected.
He didn’t believe that. He doubted Isagi believed him too.
Isagi always stared at him. Rin knew from how heavy his gaze was, being under dark, depthless oceans every time. Isagi's fixation was severe; an obsession without limits. He shamelessly let it be known that he was sensing Rin's heartbeat at any inappropriate time. During his flirting. His tactics. His frights, checking if he succeeded for once.
He was exposed to Isagi. Rin's pulse lived through the corpse who stole his breath, and he hoped it frightened Isagi every time he felt it pump.
"Your excitement scares me," Isagi admitted.
Rin’s hand found itself around Isagi’s nape and pushed him back onto his lips. That was enough of an answer for Isagi anyway.
The afflicted pain was ecstacy, a sensation he hadn't felt before since Isagi mutilated his spine. What was supposed to be his layed vulnerable in front of him with a pierce into Isagi's chest, yet Rin still didn't reach for it. He remained still, or rather completely ignorant in order to continue the exhilarating trace Isagi maneuvered on his lips.
This is what you get for believing in Kaiser.
There wasn't enough time to realize Isagi's hands were roaming under Rin's shirt. They intruded the hem with ease as the grip on blue hair intensified with every clash. Feeling and touching the ridges of Rin's body under his shirt, Isagi stopped for a moment and placed his palm on Rin's stomach. A cocky smile bruised Rin as pressure slowly increased from Isagi's hand and a small gesture forward into him.
Rin fucking hated him.
Isagi's laugh immediately filled when Rin pulled his hair back less aggressively than he intended to. “Over clothes,” he sneered.
“Over clothes,” Isagi repeated, dismissing the words and slotting his thumbs on Rin's bare waist.
He didn't hate that.
That didn't last long either. Right as he pressed onto Rin again, Isagi hurled over and vomited beside them.
The color was indiscernible and unseen. Clumps of what Rin figured were muscle and tissue came together among themselves with the disturbing liquid seeping out of Isagi's mouth. Eyes blown wide and an unsettling cough after the unwanted occurrence, Isagi had his tongue stuck out and tears streaming down his cheeks. "...Why?"
A good question with an obvious answer. Rin could feel his eyes narrow at the lack of competence and his nose scrunch at the stench beside them. "You're basically a newborn again; the human body can't digest another person physically and mentally, especially the brain, dumb fuck. Your stomach is rejecting your diet."
Isagi used his sleeve to clean his chin from the excess retch. "Ugh, this is why I hate humans...so damn weak. You can still kiss me with the taste of vomit, right?"
Yes. Rin could and in foul honesty, he wanted to. In the end, the dismissed rationale from earlier spoke for him and over his desires. "Sleep. Now. Stop resisting."
Isagi's eyes softened at that. "You don't want that," he muttered weakly. Isagi's fingers brushed his nape softly, soothingly, and quickly replaced his touch with fangs. Teeth sank into Rin's skin, deriving an electrifying jolt from his spine— but he didn't drink. He sucked Rin's skin softly, different from everything before. Shyly. "I know you don't want that."
Rin's body reacted to Isagi’s touch. When didn't he at this point?
Damn it. Damn it, damn it, damn it— having his emotions heightened by Isagi’s blood was a punishment enough. He didn’t need its effects to linger anymore and dominate his impulsivity more than they already had.
His pride was on the line, and the vampirism of Isagi's blood was winning. "I can still do it. Kiss you."
Fangs flashed approvingly. “Prove it.”
Disgustingly enough, Rin obliged. Blood and meat had grown into a familiar taste by now; the only difference was that it came from Isagi's mouth.
It was wet on both ends. Blood mixed, saliva tied, and teeth clashed with fangs. Isagi pressed on Rin with no remorse, following carnal instincts until Rin gave in. He moaned into Isagi, eyes closed, body loose, tightening hot knots in his core.
"Come on, you can do it," Isagi encouraged passively, pressing on Rin's body.
The sloppier Isagi reciprocated, Rin involuntarily reacted. He whined through clenched teeth, easily undone when Isagi forced his jaw open once again. The attempt was weak, yet Rin still complied. Comparable to starving animals' claws, fingers dug into Rin's body for purchase. Canines sunk on Rin's lips. And Rin grew rabid for more.
"Quit tempting me," Isagi muttered ghastly, sweaty, ruined.
Rin swallowed, lashes fluttering. "Then, devote yourself to me, you useless vampire."
For once, Isagi listened.
He licked Rin back like a dog before crushing into him again erratically. Tongues fought for dominance now that Isagi's fangs were gone. Regardless of Isagi's erratic urge of control, Rin could still distinguish the weakness growing in the vampire. His body wasn't burning anymore— he had human warmth.
Temporary, he had to remind himself.
Given Isagi's pride, Rin expected for Isagi to stop. He kept pushing instead, breaking whatever line Rin vowed he wouldn't cross with Isagi. He continued to grovel for Rin's blood. He anguishly moaned to it, worshipped it with his mouth, swiped any remnants with his tongue.
Rin was on the verge of passing out, and yet... he gave everything to Isagi. "Eat me."
Desperateness was the only way to describe it.
Rin needed to feel Isagi's skin, how different it would be with human warmth emitting from his body onto his own. How sensitive Isagi could get, the shivers, goosebumps, everything that was prevented from Rin to witness would no longer be a problem with unhealable skin. Marks, all inflicted with purpose, with hunger, with urge, with want, would course Isagi's body. Teeth marks would stay on Isagi's neck for as long as Rin could continue to engrave his possession.
He needed to take advantage of it, damn it. "Eat me, do it, eat me."
Isagi hardly parted from Rin. His fingers lingered on Rin's jaw as a reminder of his touch and short living warmth, like a taunt. His ocean blue eyes were swallowed by dark blown pupils, resisting the atrocities Isagi wanted to tell Rin. "Where?" he whispered, teeth mauled in red.
"Stomach," he answered, voice stern.
The vampire ignored his lips. He nuzzled his mouth into Rin's neck instead and rasped his teeth on Rin's collarbone. "Then?" Isagi questioned, provoking Rin by tugging at the band of his pants. "Your neck?"
Rin pulled Isagi's hair back. "You know already."
Watching Isagi's adams apple bob, Rin kept his eyes on Isagi's conniving grin. "I'll eat you."
Feeling Rin's grip weaken, Isagi returned to Rin but kept him without reciprocation. He rustled on Rin's waist with purpose until Rin swallowed a mewled sound. "...Another day."
What…”What?”
“You're high on vampire blood,” Isagi responded. “And I’m dead on yours. I didn’t think it was going to affect you this much,” he laughed, softly in Rin’s ear. Isagi brushed Rin's hair out of his way and plunged his tongue into Rin's ear, starting with licking his earlobe. “Repeat that to me when we wake up.”
Heat ran Rin's cheeks. He wanted to push Isagi off, but he clenched his fist, remaining in position and twitched involuntary at the movement of Isagi's tongue. Fingers dug onto dirt and found themselves within Isagi's hair.
Immediately, Isagi passed out on Rin's shoulder.
It gave Rin the time to recover his rationale, overrun stupid on Isagi's touch, and remembered the purpose of offering his blood. Isagi was drunk— He was a being comparable to a human for the time being.
" 'Sagi," he grunted. Rin grabbed Isagi's shoulders and shook him hardly, causing Isagi's head whiplash and resulting with an expected unresponsive droop. Squinting, Rin eyed the trail of pink saliva easing down to his chest from Isagi's mouth.
"Tired," Isagi responded. "So... so. I'm tired."
A hard rock head came crashing down on Rin's. He was sure Isagi's forehead broke his nose given the accumulating wetness on his upper lip. On Rin breathed Isagi, frantically weak and fragile, repeatedly mumbling "Rin."
Isagi's head remained just under Rin's broken nose, where blue hair tickled his skin lightly. Clean, Rin smelled calmly. Suspiciously clean, but there wasn't any point in interrogating a... whatever-this-was Isagi. A quarter human and seventy-five percent vampire?
Rin swallowed in his scent. "You won't die right?"
Mumbles roamed around them. Despite being next to Rin's ear, he couldn't hear Isagi's incomprehensive assurance. "I won't," he eventually repeated. "Rin, I won...I won't."
The assurance was needed. Rin's body loosed its built-up tension with the conformation, but he kept his eyes on Isagi. His cheek was pressed on him, mouth parted, blood dirtying half his face and Rin's clothes. Off guarded, his eyes were closed. Sleepy.
Eat him.
"I'm yours," Isagi suddenly proclaimed. "Yours."
Rin's breath hitched. Barely. Noticeable to Isagi, though, based on his half-tired grin. "Aw."
"Shut up," he whispered. Rin's head was on the verge of falling back in exhaustion, yet his eyes stayed open.
"Rin," he continued to hear vulnerably. Weakly. Into his shirt, refusing to meet Rin.
That was fine. Rin didn’t need Isagi to respond anyway. “I’m here.”
...Whatever that meant for him.
Isagi's breathing abruptly appeared. The vampire always faked it before to seem natural in public and to Rin, but from the elated euphoria of human blood, Rin's blood, the half-human began kicking in. Isagi started breathing again.
If Isagi were still awake, the thrill would have killed Rin. He stayed on Rin's chest anyway, oblivious to Rin's study of him. Isagi looked...human, resting. "Sleep, Isagi."
Finally, Rin's eyes closed.
