Chapter Text
“AJ!” Bloom exclaimed, running into her arms.
“Hey, Bloom,” AJ said, kneeling down to embrace her sister.
“How was Paris? Was it amazing? Did you see the Eiffel tower? You've gotta tell me all about it!”
AJ ruffled her sister's hair, “It was all that and more.” She grabbed Bloom's hands, “Actually, there's something I wanna tell you. Do you remember that promise we made to each other? The one about telling Dash and Scoot how we feel?”
Bloom nodded vigorously.
“Well…” AJ looked over her shoulder at the open door, and suddenly Dash appeared in the frame. “Surprise! Guess who has the best girlfriend ever? Your sister!”
AJ rolled her eyes, grinning to herself.
“NO WAY! You actually- y'all are together?!”
AJ nodded, standing, holding her hand out for Dash to take.
Dash did, tugging AJ closer to her so she could kiss her cheek (which she had to stand on her tip-toes to do).
Bloom just gawked at them.
“What's this about you having a crush on Scoot now?” Dash asked.
Bloom's face turned pink as she sheepishly looked at the floor. “I may have a crush on her but have been too scared to tell her.”
Dash gave Bloom a sympathetic look, “Well, Bloom, I think you should tell her. It may just go exactly the way you want it to.”
Bloom's eyes lit up, “You really think so?”
“Mm hm, I know so.”
She squealed, “I've gotta go tell her right now!” She said, dashing past them and out the door.
“Huh. Funny how she never listens to me when I say the exact same thing.”
Dash shrugged, “I'm just cool like that. Also I know for a fact Scoot has a crush on Bloom. She made me swear not to tell anyone."
AJ smiled, “Really?”
“Really,” she affirmed, “she'll be over the moon that Bloom likes her back-”
“AHHH SO IT'S REALLY TRUE!”
AJ jumped, taken aback by the sudden shouting. She turned on her heel, and in the doorway stood Rarity.
AJ took a breath, “Your timing is impeccable, Rarity.”
“Let's not get caught up on who may track whose phone-” Rarity squealed, looking back and forth between AJ and Dash. “On live television too! How gutsy.”
AJ could feel the heat in her cheeks. She'd forgotten just how public their confession had been. She rubbed at her face. “Ha… yeah.”
“Do you know how hard it was to bite my tongue through this whole ordeal?”
AJ gave her a look.
She threw her hands up in the air, “It was so obvious you two liked each other. But I didn't want to betray either of your confidence. It was torture!”
Dash scoffed, “It wasn't THAT obvious.”
From another room, Granny Smith yelled, “Yes it was!”
AJ puffed out her cheeks, laughing. “It's not obvious when you're stuck in your own head.”
“Useless lesbians, the both of you.” Rarity said.
Dash grumbled, “Says the aromantic.”
Rarity gave her a sly smile, putting her hands on her hips, “Just because I'm not interested in romance doesn't mean I'm not a romantic. I'm a romantic at heart. Trust me, it was just you two dense lesbians who didn't see it.”
“Did everyone really know?” AJ asked.
Rarity nodded slowly. “Oh yeah.”
AJ and Dash exchanged a look. Dash squeezed AJ's hand.
“Well I sure as hell couldn't tell,” AJ chuckled, “you could've done a better job at making it more obvious.”
“I THOUGHT I WAS!” Dash protested, “Dude, I invited you to go to PARIS with me. Only you. How exactly do you misinterpret that.”
AJ narrowed her eyes, “We're best friends too. I just thought you wanted support. And I thought I was pretty obvious with my feelin's. I did a poor job at keeping them in check.”
Dash shrugged, “I just thought you flustered easily. I never actually thought you liked me back.”
“Well I don't fluster easily. It's just you.”
Dash grinned, “Yeah?”
AJ tugged on Dash's hand, pulling her closer to herself.
She returned the smile, “Yeah,” she said, before drawing her into a kiss.”
Rarity rolled her eyes, “Gods, you two are so cute. It's actually disgusting.”
Dash broke the kiss, as she began laughing.
With a final kiss to Dash's cheek, AJ let Dash's hand fall away from hers. “I'll be right back, I'm gonna go see how Granny is doing.”
AJ left the two momentarily, making her way to Granny Smith's bedroom.
She knocked, before pushing the door open.
“Alexandra!” Granny Smith exclaimed, holding her arms out to her.
She was sitting criss cross on her bed, laptop open with papers sprawled around her.
AJ was a little shocked to see her looking so… healthy.
“Hey, Granny,” AJ said, embracing her grandma.
When she drew back, she asked, “You're workin’?”
Granny Smith nodded, “Yep. I've gotten my energy back, so I'm workin’.”
AJ smiled, relieved that Granny was feeling better.
“Wanna tell me about that girl you got out there?” Granny Smith said, nodding her head in the direction of the door.
AJ looked at her confused, “But I thought-”
“-You thought I thought you two were datin'? I knew ya weren't, but it's nice to dream. And it seems like dreams really do come true.”
AJ began recanting the story of how they got together- the confession and the kiss in front of millions of people.
“Well I'll be!” Granny Smith exclaimed, “That's so romantic.”
“I know,” AJ said, “I still can't really believe it– that I'm hers.”
And with that, someone knocked on the door. Dash peeked her head in, “Thought I'd come see how my number one fan is doing.”
“Dash!” Granny Smith waved her over, “come sit!”
Dash complied, taking a seat next to AJ on the side of the bed.
“An Olympic champion in my bedroom. I told ya that signature of yours would be worth a fortune. I sold it for $200.”
Dash gaped at her, amusement evident on her face. “You sold my signature?”
“I sure as hell did.”
AJ chuckled, shaking her head.
“Is Rarity still here?” AJ asked.
Dash shook her head, “No. She's helping Pinkie set up the party for tomorrow, so she left.”
Oh yeah, Pinkie was throwing a party to celebrate Dash's victory. That reminded her of something.
She pulled out her phone, opening the messages app.
CHERRY
You up for a party?
Idk. It depends, will there be drinks?
There will indeed.
Then count me in!
AJ slipped her phone back into her pocket.
“I'm glad you're feelin’ better, Granny.” AJ said.
“Me too! I've missed the work.”
Dash yawned, stretching her arms over her head.
“I don't know about you, AJ, but I'm freakishly jet-lagged. I'm ready for a fat nap.”
AJ’s head hurt from the tiredness. She could definitely use some sleep too.
“I'll drive you home?”
Dash shifted, suddenly looking a little nervous. “Um-” she cleared her throat, “Could I sleep here? With you?”
AJ grinned, her heart skipping a beat.
“Of course, sugarcube. I'd like that.” She stood up, holding her hand out to Dash.
Dash took it, returning her smile.
“Night, Granny,” AJ said.
“It's 2pm…” she replied.
She just shrugged.
AJ led the way to her room.
“Wanna borrow a change of clothes?”
Technically Dash didn't need them as her suitcase was still in her truck, but in all honesty Dash just looked overwhelmingly adorable in her clothes.
Dash nodded, “Please.”
AJ rummaged through her drawers until she found something that would fit Dash somewhat.
She threw the clothes at her.
“Okay if I change here?” She asked.
AJ swallowed, nodding.
Dash smirked before she began stripping out of her clothes.
AJ should look away– it's the polite thing to do.
But she couldn't. Dash was just stunning. Her brown skin seemed to glow and her muscles- Gods, they were so toned.
Dash made a real show of changing, slowly pulling off her shirt, taking her sweet time to put on the other.
When she took her pants off AJ did avert her gaze to the floor.
“It's okay you know,” Dash said, unfolding the pajama pants.
AJ looked up at her questioningly.
“For you to stare.”
AJ felt her face heat up. She placed the back of her hand to her cheek.
“Ah…” AJ laughed nervously.
“You're my girlfriend after all. I want you to stare.”
AJ looked at her, then her eyes slowly traveled downwards, raking over the muscles in her thighs.
“You're pretty hot you know,” AJ complimented.
Dash grinned at her, putting on the pants. “You're not so bad yourself, blondie.”
Dash opened her drawers, pulling out some pajamas before throwing them at AJ.
“Your turn,” she said, a mischievous glint in her eye.
AJ obliged, taking off her T-shirt.
Dash plopped down on her bed, leaning on her hands.
AJ's heart rate picked up a little under Dash's gaze.
She whistled, “Damn, no matter how hard I try I can never get my arms that big.”
AJ could feel the blush creep to her ears, and she knew how red her face must be.
She threw on the new shirt, then changed her pants. Dash's eyes never once left her.
When she was done changing, she went over to Dash, placing her hands on either side of her legs. “Let's get some sleep,” she said, before kissing her. Dash draped her arms around AJ's neck, and the two lost themselves in each other for God knows how long.
When they finally broke the kiss, they were both a little breathless.
She's discovered that kissing Dash is one of her favorite things to do. Each time their lips met, it was as if the entire world faded around them. Only they existed together in that moment.
AJ drew back from Dash, before crawling up her bed. She propped herself against some pillows, holding her arms out to Dash.
Dash followed suit, settling herself into AJ's arms.
She kissed Dash's temple, before drawing the covers over the two of them.

Like usual, Pinkie had done an incredible job at throwing this party. It was even more magnificent than the last one. Giant Olympic rings adorned the walls and golden centerpieces sat on each table.
Pinkie had invited all of Dash's friends and family, so the room was brimming with familiar faces.
“Dash, there's someone I'd like you to meet,” AJ said, nodding her head in the direction of Cherry.
Cherry held her hand out to her, “I'm Cherry, AJ's former fuck-buddy.”
Dash accepted the extended hand.
“Cherry!” AJ exclaimed, shock evident on her face.
Dash cocked an eyebrow at them. “Should I be jealous?”
Cherry shook her head. “No. Every time she was with me she was thinking about you.”
“Gods above, Cherry!” AJ had flushed a brilliant shade of red.
“I can’t believe I’m finally meeting THE Dash. I have literally heard so much about you.”
AJ rubbed at her hot face, “You make me sound terrible, Red.”
“She’s anything but, I assure you,” Cherry amended.
Dash laughed, glancing at AJ. “I know.”
“She really is as beautiful as I imagined,” she complimented.
AJ grabbed Dash’s hand. “We are walking away now, before you steal my girlfriend.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it!” Cherry shouted as they walked away from her.
AJ covered her face with both her hands, “Gods, I’m so embarrassed.”
Dash just grinned at her in amusement. “You were that down bad, huh?”
AJ made a noise that was incomprehensible. Dash took that as a “yes.”
Dash grabbed hold of AJ’s shoulder, spinning her so they were facing each other.
“I think it’s kind of cute.”
AJ gave her a look. “My humiliation?”
Dash giggled, “No. The fact that you were thinking and talking about me THAT much. It’s… endearing.”
AJ gave her a weak smile. “I’m sorry about that.”
She shrugged, “Don’t be. I think it’s kinda cute.”
“I’m glad you feel that way.”
A squeal caught the attention of the two, cutting their conversation short.
“AAHHH I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE FINALLY TOGETHER!” Pinkie had rushed over to them, capturing them in a hug.
“You oblivious useless lesbians finally realized the feelings were mutual.”
“I wish people would quit saying that,” AJ complained.
“Well, it’s simply the truth,” Twilight said, joining the trio.
"You guys are so cute together!" Fleura-Shay said.
“So, you guys have been talking to Rarity, huh?” Dash asked, arms crossed over her chest.
“Indeed they have,” Rarity added, completing the group of friends.
“Hey, congratulations, Dash!” A man said to her.
“Aye, it’s the Olympic Champion!” Another said, patting her on the back.
“Dash, I think you know what the people want,” Rarity said, looking around at her friends.
In unison, they began to chant, “SPEECH SPEECH SPEECH!”
After a moment of debate, she finally gave in. The five of them made their way to the front of the room where a podium was stationed, and a giant projection of Dash winning the Olympics illuminated the wall behind it.
Dash took a deep breath, before stepping up to the podium.
“Hello everyone,” she began, and cheers erupted around the room.
“Thank you so much for coming out today to celebrate my victory. Go team USA!”
“USA! USA!” The crowd chanted.
“I always knew I’d end up here someday.”
The crowd laughed.
“But I didn’t know when or how or if there would be something in my way to stop me. I have fought so hard to get here, and I couldn’t be prouder of myself. But I couldn’t have done this alone,” Dash looked pointedly at AJ who was in the front row.
“I have to thank my wonderful, amazing, and supportive girlfriend for always cheering me on and supporting me through this long journey. I literally wouldn’t be here without her. I might’ve thrown in the towel, but I never did, and it was all thanks to her. AJ, thank you, and I love you. Eres mi sol, y espero poder bañarme siempre en tu calor, mi amor.”
AJ mouthed “I love you too,” back at Dash.
The crowd erupted into applause and cheers.
After the conclusion of her speech, Dash went back to join her friends.
“So, what do you think is next for the thrilling adventure of AJ and Dash?” Pinkie asked, looking between the both of them.
AJ and Dash looked at one another, sharing a smile.
AJ grinned at Dash, pulling her closer to herself. “Hopefully a lot more to come.”
