Chapter Text
Two months after the proposal…
Anakin woke up early, his excitement hitting him the moment he sat up in bed. Today was the day, the day he would marry his soulmate.
He glanced next to him at the peacefully sleeping man, a small smile coming over his features as he wrapped an arm around Obi-Wan to pull him closer.
“What are you doing?” Came the annoyed yet fond response beside him.
“Hugging you,” Anakin responded flatly. Obi-Wan finally opened his eyes, a small smile gracing his features as he looked up at Anakin. “Are you ready for today?”
Obi-Wan paused before nearly gasping. “That's right.”
“Don’t tell me you forgot it was our wedding day old man,” Anakin responded with a teasing smile.
“It won’t be our wedding day any longer if you call me an old man again,” Obi-Wan retorted.
“Alright alright, sorry,” Anakin grumbled. “Such a tight ass.”
Obi-Wan scoffed. “Anakin-”
“I know, I know!” Anakin rushed before grumbling. “You are lucky I didn’t say literally.”
“You just said it! And you too… literally,” Obi-Wan turned his back, letting Anakin smirk at him. He knew he was pushing Obi-Wan’s temper just slightly, but he would find a way to make up for it. He usually did.
Anakin reached over and slowly wrapped his arms around Obi-Wan. “I’m sorry,” Anakin murmured.
“No, you aren’t. You think it’s funny to pick on me,” the other man replied.
Anakin nodded slightly. “Because I like you. I don’t pick on anyone else like this do I?”
Obi-Wan snorted. “That’s because nobody else would put up with it.”
He couldn't help the small chuckle that snipped from his lips. “Fine, you have a point. But I believe that it’s romantic.”
“What’s romantic about being annoyed?” Obi-Wan asked, finally rolling back around to face him.
“What I mean is…” Anakin began, already inching his face closer to Obi-Wan. “It’s romantic you are the only one in the entire galaxy who can truly put up with me.”
Obi-Wan sighed loudly. “Yes yes…I know. I’ve been aware for years.”
Anakin laughed, carefully pressing his lips against Obi-Wan’s. He stayed still for a while, letting them both fully take in the feel of each other's lips before he deepened the kiss.
The feel of Obi-Wan’s lips against his still felt new to him. It was almost as if every few moments he would go into shock, too surprised to process the fact it was none other than Obi-Wan he was kissing. He was such a good kisser as well. Obi-Wan kept him continually wanting more. They broke a moment, both of them taking the moment to look at one another. “I love you,” Obi-Wan suddenly said.
For a moment Anakin’s breath was taken away. It was always a shock when he got to hear those words returned. “I love you too, I love you more every day.”
Obi-Wan blushed slightly, his lips pressed in that fond smile that was only for Anakin. “Then I cannot wait to be married to you.”
***
Shmi sat patiently on the grass next to the cottage, one of the only three spectators of Obi-Wan and Anakin’s “mini” wedding. With Shmi was Tahl, and Qui-Gon who was going to officiate the wedding for them. Tahl and Shmi had met only a couple of times before, both helping Obi-Wan when Anakin had been in his deep sleep. Currently, they spoke quietly about the future and the past, and about what could have given them hints to indicate Obi-Wan and Anakin could end up together in this manner. Qui-Gon listed quietly, smiling to himself as he thought about all the times Obi-Wan had accidentally hinted at his feelings for Anakin. He could even claim that Obi-Wan nearly had feelings for Anakin before Anakin had even passed. The way he had spoken about Anakin had always been too deep.
Anakin finally walked out of the cottage and to the small arbor he built and which Obi-Wan and Shmi had later decorated with flowers. They had moved it to the back of the cottage, that way they wouldn’t have to get rid of it once this event was over. It was beautiful, a mix of both Anakin's and Obi-Wan’s hard work.
Qui-Gon smiled at Ankain from his spot next to the arbor. “Ready?”
Anakin nodded. “I…I believe so. Obi-Wan and I have talked about this decision more than enough.” He turned to give Qui-Gon a little smile. “You should be asking me if I’m ready to spend an entire eternity with him. I don’t have to be married to him to want to do that.”
“So you want to? You are sure about your place next to him?” Qui-Gon asked.
Anakin thought for a moment before nodding. “I won’t let myself lose my way from him again.”
Qui-Gon smiled slightly to himself as he nodded in agreement.
It was only a short while later that Obi-Wan walked out, his clothes a mix of Jedi robes and a suit. It made him look professional, but not so much so that he didn’t look comfortable. It was perfect for him, especially since Anakin knew he had designed it himself. Anakin himself was of course wearing all black, but he had made sure to give his suit little splashes of white around the collar, something to make himself look more appealing for Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan stood in front of Anakin, a small yet nervous smile on his features. “Are you ready?”
Anakin found himself lacking words as he opened his mouth. He would never fully believe this was happening. “Yes,” he whispered.
Obi-Wan smiled before giving a nod to Qui-Gon who opened the piece of paper he had stored in his back pocket. Carefully as to not stumble on any words, Qui-Gon began reading the script Obi-Wan had only heard in movies.
“On this fateful day, night, sunrise, or sunset, two people have come together to express their love and devotion towards one another.”
Obi-Wan couldn’t help but notice the beautiful beginnings of a sunset in the sky, passionate and bright, just like the man in front of him. Anakin truly was like the sun, something Obi-Wan’s entire life seemed to revolve around since he was introduced. “As the sun sets and rises every day, these two shall rise and set with it together, joined in ways only love can explain,” Qui-Gon continued. Anakin gave Obi-Wan a little smile as he caught Obi-Wan staring. Obi-Wan snorted slightly, something about Anakin’s dumb smile made him laugh. Qui-Gon paused before rolling his eyes and continuing. Obi-Wan could tell Anakin was trying not to laugh too. They were supposed to be having a serious moment and here Obi-Wan was laughing over a dumb face Anakin made like he was five.
Obi-Wan closed his eyes a moment, trying to focus on Qui-Gon’s words and take this more seriously yet somehow found himself unable to. He still could not cope with the fact that it was Anakin he was marrying. He couldn’t believe this was real, that he was finally getting a happy ending.
Anakin had tuned Qui-Gon’s words out years ago. He had tried to pretend like he could pay attention, going as far as to give Obi-Wan his best reassuring smile when he caught Obi-Wan staring at him. It must have not been very good as Obi-Wan laughed at him. But it didn’t matter, he couldn’t help but let his thoughts run wild. He was worried Obi-Wan would regret it, but more than that it was as if this marriage was finally setting in. If he was a good husband, he would get to keep Obi-Wan for the rest of….well….possibly eternity. He could hardly handle the soft way Obi-Wan was looking at him now or the way his heart practically skipped a beat whenever Obi-Wan so much as pressed his lips gently against Anakin’s skin. It was so right, just so right. There is no other way to describe the feeling of never needing anyone more.
Qui-Gon’s words slowly sifted back in. “Now, two lovers will profess their love and dedication. Do you, Anakin Skywalker, take Obi-Wan Kenobi to be your husband?”
Anakin paused and studied Obi-Wan’s soft smile and gentle gaze. Love, lust, hope, it was all he could feel right now. “Yes,” he said finally.
“And do you, Obi-Wan Kenobi, take Anakin Skywalker to be your husband?” Qui-Gon glanced at Obi-Wan with a small, knowing smile.
“Yes,” Obi-Wan said without hesitation.
“I now pronounce you, husband and husband,” Qui-Gon finally said. “You may kiss.”
Anakin grabbed Obi-Wan so fast that Obi-Wan barely managed to have time to react, lips touching in a deep kiss. Shmi and Tahl stood up, clapping and cheering encouragingly. “I love you more than myself, I love you more than the galaxy,” Anakin whispered against Obi-Wan’s lips when they finally parted.
Obi-Wan’s eyes were teary as he finally returned Anakin’s gaze. “It is no different for me, my dear one.”
***
50 years later
“I won! Fair and a square shape!”
“Fair and square you mean. Except you didn’t, you cheated. Like you do every single time!”
“How dare….I do not cheat….all the time.”
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes from where he was sitting outside. He had been trying to meditate when those two burst outside. A fight between Maul and Anakin was not a rare occurrence. Something that was never anything serious but more and more annoying every time it happened. Obi-Wan was hoping that fights could be avoided at their anniversary party of all places. When they invited nearly everyone they knew they expected a few little fights, but in the end were hoping they would at least get along with each other for the short few hours they were here. Obi-Wan should have expected Anakin would of course be the one who would start those fights he was dreading.
Obi-Wan nearly groaned as he heard Dooku walk outside. “Maul cheated,” he announced.
Maul hissed. “No, you are the cheater. You wannabe Jedi.”
Obi-Wan finally stood. “Stop. You are annoying me and this is my house. I’ll kick all of you out if I have to.”
“Our house,” Anakin corrected.
“I’ll kick you out too,” Obi-Wan immediately responded only to have Anakin pout like a toddler.
Maul snickered at Anakin before being interrupted “And Maul, stop cheating. Now let's all go inside and be nice to each other.” Obi-Wan said as Maul spluttered.
Of course Luke was waiting inside for Obi-Wan, rushing to him as soon as he walked in. “They won’t stop fighting,” he said annoyedly. Obi-Wan sighed, glad Luke had regained at least some of his energy since his passing, even if it seemed he had used most of it to just complain.
Obi-Wan tended to lose track of time now that he had been in the afterlife so long, but it had for sure been over a decade since Luke’s passing and he was surprised it had taken him so long to loosen up again. He had been bitter much like his father when he had passed, bitter about what happened with his nephew Ben above all else.
Thankfully for Luke though, Ben did not wait too long to pass as well. As soon as his nephew Ben arrived in the afterlife it had been hard for Luke. He couldn’t seem to look at his nephew without being reminded of both of their failures. Obi-Wan related to Luke in a sense, related to his guilt and sense of sadness that hovered over his head. He had felt a similar way with Anakin.
There were many long nights he and Obi-Wan would sit and talk to one another, talk about what his nephew did in destroying the order Luke spent so long re-constructing. They would talk about Luke’s feelings towards his nephew now, the guilt he felt for scaring his nephew but also the guilt he felt for sadly, not stopping Ben sooner. Darkness had been in the boy's heart for a long while, unseen by many for the longest time. Obi-Wan could just be glad that the order this child helped to create did not last long. But another thing they would talk about was Luke’s bitterness towards his nephew. It was hard for Luke to forgive him at first. And even now, way over ten years since Ben arrived, Luke still couldn't act naturally around him.
He would commonly ask Obi-Wan how he did it, how he managed to love Anakin so deeply after everything. And to that Obi-Wan didn’t have much of an explanation. It was Anakin, his sun, his shining star, his partner, and his best friend. He was simply everything to him. The better question would be to ask him how he could stop himself from liking Anakin.
“Ben?” Luke called to try to get his attention. Obi-Wan tried his best to focus back on him. Obi-Wan was glad Luke was at least calling him 'Ben' again. It was as if his nephew had ruined the name. It was a shame, and Obi-Wan was glad he got his nickname back. Luke and Leia were the only people he responded to that name with after all.
“Yes Luke, sorry,” he apologized.
Luke gave him a little frown. “Did you need to invite Maul? You knew he would purposely cause issues.”
“I thought you liked Maul,” Obi-Wan argued as he made his way into the living room with Luke following him like a lost puppy.
“He’s funny sometimes but not all the time,” he grumbled.
Obi-Wan turned and sighed. “You know he’s friends with your father, be nice. And besides, he only has his brothers and mother.”
Luke rolled his eyes. “Yeah, sure, I’m sure he has a…partner.” Luke’s face slowly wrinkled as he thought about it.
Obi-Wan pointed to the couch. “Talk to Qui-Gon, I’m sure he has some prophesies to tell you.”
Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow at Obi-Wan, already knowing he was being used as a distraction. “I do have a few prophesies now that I think about it. Maybe you can debate them with me.” When Luke sighed Qui-Gon gave him a sad frown. “I don’t have anyone to share them with after all. They all think I’m crazy.”
Luke groaned and sat down. Obi-Wan couldn't help but smirk slightly as he walked back to the kitchen. The three causes of the problem walked in soon after, still arguing with one another. Obi-Wan crossed his arms and stared at them all. All three of them immediately looked around the cottage in fake distraction. Obi-Wan sighed. “Get along.”
Anakin grumbled at him. “Maul started it, he always does.”
“The only reason he starts anything is because he knows it is getting to you,” Obi-Wan lectured. “And Maul, stop messing with people at my anniversary gathering.”
“Sorry,” Maul lied with a little smile.
“I pity his sense of humor,” Anakin said as he tried to walk past Obi-Wan only to be caught by his arm.
“I pity yours too. And stop being so sensitive, you aren't a padawan are you?” He asked annoyedly.
Anakin smirked right at Obi-Wan, knowing full well he was pushing his limits as he murmured, “I can be a padawan if you like, master.”
Obi-Wan blushed and slapped Anakin’s arm. “Couch with Luke, now.”
Luke turned around with a frown as Qui-Gon spoke to him about something that probably sounded insane. “Help,” he mouthed as Anakin slowly walked over to him.
Obi-Wan glanced around, his eyes landing on Ben sitting alone as he usually did. He was disappointed Leia nor Han seemed to be paying any attention to him, and yet it still sadly made sense.
Obi-Wan sat down in one of the soft chairs in the living room and moved to scoot closer to him. Ben’s eyes lit up slightly when he saw Obi-Wan. Anakin and him had become rather close to Ben over the years. Offering as much comfort as they could to the boy that reminded Obi-Wan far too much of Anakin. Their attention and comfort ended up resulting in Ben being over at their house at least two times a week most of the time. It did make sense he would crave seeing Anakin and him so much, Ben didn't seem to have gotten enough affection as a child, or an adult.
But Obi-Wan had to admit, now that they had all passed Ben’s parents were a lot more open with their child. Both parents had made a great effort to try and become closer to him. Obi-Wan was sure they still cared about their child greatly, but he was also sure that they probably partly blamed themselves for what ended up happening. Leia possibly more than Han as she was the one who sent him to Luke’s temple in the first place because she was scared of the dark she felt in her son. But in the afterlife, the repairs Leia had made with Ben became obvious when Ben had lived with her for a while. But then again…he had lived with Obi-Wan and Anakin first.
Han’s and Leia's relationship was another thing that may have prevented them from getting closer to their son, when they were alive and in the afterlife. Currently, Han and Leia were back together, possibly for about three years now. Obi-Wan could only hope that it would last this time.
Obi-Wan reached out toward Ben and placed a gentle hand in his hair. “It’s a little greyer than it was the last time I saw you I think.”
Ben huffed. “From two days ago?”
Obi-Wan nodded. “Yes, I think so. Is Rey’s hair this grey yet?”
“No,” He responded in just the slightest bit of bitterness.
Ben’s love for Rey always filled Obi-Wan’s heart. Ben was dedicated to Rey, above all things at this point. He had even decided to age naturally as if he was still living, just so he could look similar to her….so he could feel like he was still living with her. It was a future he would never truly get to live through.
“Are you alright?” Obi-wan asked as Ben’s eyes wandered down. “You miss her?” Obi-Wan could easily guess. Ben nodded and Obi-Wan gave him a reassuring smile. “I know it must be hard. You know your grandfather and I get what it’s like to be separated from a loved one. But be reassured that I’m sure she misses you just as much as you miss her,” Obi-Wan attempted to comfort.
Ben gave him that little smile he gave when he was trying to cheer himself up. He looked so much like his grandfather when he did it as well. Anakin got up and walked over, practically shoving Obi-Wan out of his chair. “Listen, kid, she loves you more than she loves herself, don’t worry okay? You will be reunited in the far future. I’m sure she can’t wait to kiss you.”
Ob-Wan elbows Anakin. “That’s right dear. I can tell she is far too fond of you.”
Ben grumbled. “I know you are both trying to be supportive but I’m feeling smothered.”
Obi-Wan elbowed Anakin. “You smoothed him.”
Anakin scoffed. “No, you. And it’s not my fault he's in an emo mood.”
Ben gave a loud, drawn-out sigh.
Anakin started laughing under his breath and Obi-Wan sighed. “Anakin, leave him alone.” Obi-Wan patted Ben’s shoulder. “You can stay here after the party.” It was already a given he was allowed to, he had his room and everything.
Ben sighed again. “I know…”
Anakin moved closer to talk to Ben, whispering to him as if Obi-Wan wasn’t there, probably gossiping about someone to try and make Ben feel better. Those two had always been especially close. Both of them had felt extraordinarily outcasted at one time or another in their life, and those past feelings more than likely helped them to understand each other. Ben’s love for Anakin seemed to be instant as well. At first, he had been a little scared around Anakin, knowing that at one time Anakin was once Vader, but also knowing he had made the same mistakes Anakin had. But it didn’t seem to matter to Anakin as it was as if the moment he saw Ben he promised himself he was going to protect the younger man at all costs.
What had originally been another forced stay by Dai Bendu became an almost permanent one for Ben. Obi-Wan could still remember when Ben had first moved out of their small cottage. Anakin treated it as if they wouldn’t see Ben for months when in reality the boy came to see them the next day. Anakin of course pouted in their room until then, being fussy about it until Ben came back. It was annoying, but cute, very slightly cute.
Obi-Wan smiled to himself when out of the corner of his eye he saw Ben start to smile at whatever Anakin was saying. The sight made him feel melty, as he would call it. Anakin wrapped an arm around Ben like they were old friends and Obi-Wan couldn’t help but smile even brighter. He stood up to not disturb them and sat next to Shmi, seeing Shmi had finally finished her conversation with Leia.
Leia and Shmi both ended up becoming very close. Obi-Wan thought that Shmi just liked finally having another girl to talk to in the family. “Are you doing alright Miss Shmi?” Obi-Wan still preferred to add the Miss in front of her name, it sounded more respectful. If there was anything Shmi deserved it was respect.
“Oh I’m doing wonderful,” she said, because of course she was doing well, there was not a single person here that Shmi couldn't get along with. “How are you Obi-Wan?”
“I’m…well. Just making sure everyone is getting along,” he said as he once again scanned the area.
Shmi chuckled. “Dear, everyone is fine. And even if they weren’t getting along it isn’t all your responsibility. You need to be enjoying yourself.”
“I know you are right,” Obi-Wan admitted quietly, sharing a small smile with her.
Eventually, he glanced back at Qui-Gon and Luke, trying to see what the conversation might have been about this time. “No, I’m not sure what infinite peace is like,” Obi-Wan heard Qui-Gon saying.
“Infinite peace?” Obi-Wan questioned, the words sounding oddly familiar to him.
Luke spoke up. “Oh, Ben we were just speaking about what happens once we leave the afterlife.”
“Leave the afterlife?” Obi-Wan asked, just now realizing he had avoided thinking about this in-depth for a while now. He remembered one time he and Qui-Gon had briefly brought it up, but there had been too much on Obi-Wan’s plate at the moment to fully think about it. It must have been around the time that Anakin was helping those still living. Going back to the physical galaxy as a ghost was how Anakin had ended up paying for some of his crimes. It had helped his guilt greatly. But back to the point he was thinking about before. Eventually, Obi-Wan concluded that there must be some end to this afterlife, but he had been too scared to put a lot of thought into it. It seemed Anakin had felt the same as Obi-Wan as he had a confused expression on his features.
“Infinite peace is the stage after this afterlife. When a soul finally feels at peace with everything, feels no more intense desires, and simply feels at ease with all they have experienced. Only then they can let go and drift into infinite peace. This doesn't mean they cannot return to the afterlife when they feel or when they are needed, it just means that for the current time, they will be at peace.”
Most of the group gathered around Qui-Gon looked at each other in fascination, and maybe a bit of fear of the unknown aspect of it. “And that's when I asked what it felt like,” Luke said.
“I can't say for sure, but I’m sure it's an undescribable peace,” Qui-Gon said.
“And what If I don’t ever want to feel this infinite peace?” Maul asked.
Qui-Gon shook his head. “You will feel it, and eventually, you will want to. We can only take so much of getting everything we want. Once things are completely perfect, there is nothing to work toward. Sentients like something to work toward.”
“How long does this usually take?” Ben asked quietly.
Qui-Gon thought for a moment. “It depends on how at ease you were when you died. Someone who died feeling completely content with their life will probably move on much faster than someone who felt regretful or died too young. That said I would say it usually takes around a thousand years
“What about little children who have passed? Is it true they are raised in the afterlife?” Leia asked.
Qui-Gn nodded. “Yes, that’s true. By couples or individuals who wanted children and never got them, or couples or individuals who just wish to raise a child again. The force will pick the right person for the child.
“Is it true…” Maul carefully began. “That you can live a new life?”
Qui-Gon nodded. “There isn't a lot of information about it, but I believe it is possible. I would say that is for those who did not live a very fulfilling life, those who were dealt a very bad hand of cards in life. Possibly individuals like you Maul.”
Maul thought about it for a moment. “But when I pass again, would I remember my former life again?”
Qui-Gon thought for a long moment. “I believe if you sought out remembering it, then you would. Besides, it would be unfair to simply abandon everyone who cares about you knowing you will forget them all.”
They all go silent a moment before Anakin spoke. “Could I choose…what I become?”
Qui-Gon shook his head. “I would say probably not but who knows? It’s still possible.”
Maul sighed loudly from his place at the counter. Anakin looked at him amusedly. “Planning something? What would you even do?”
Maul crossed his arms. “Be an actor. I would get to be dramatic all the time for hardly any reason at all. Were you planning something?”
Anakin thought a moment. “I would plan out a perfect life with whoever Obi-Wan became.” Obi-Wan smiled softly at Anakin. He should have known he would say something romantic like that. “And I would want my son and daughter, and I would want to raise them this time.” Leia gave him a little smile. After years of fighting, Leia had finally loosened up to Anakin a bit. It seemed she was truly seeing the good person he could have been. And besides, holding onto negative feelings in the afterlife was not very pleasant.
“Suck up,” Ben whispered toward Anakin.
Anakin laughed, reaching over and ruffling Ben’s hair in a way Ben despised. “You are just jealous I’m getting all of Obi-Wan’s attention later.”
“Like always,” Luke suddenly complained.
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes. “I'll try to split my attention.”
“Yeah, but I’ll get the most attention before bed tonight right?” Anakin had the bold idea to ask in front of everyone.
Luke and Ben seemed to share a bonding moment as they looked at each other in equal disgust. “Anakin,” Obi-Wan began to lecture.
“Sorry,” Anakin grumbled, the little smile on his face not nearly as sorry as he claimed to be. He and Obi-Wan both knew Anakin was right. They both shared a small smile, a knowing and loving one that made Obi-Wan’s heart flutter. He didn’t understand how he had managed to get so lucky.
***
Later that night Obi-Wan and Anakin had managed to get a moment alone outside. They stood leaning against the cottage, staring at the moon and the beautiful stars that surrounded it. Patience was on his shoulder, sitting there contently as she always seemed to. Obi-Wan smiled at her before turning his head to glance at Anakin only to catch him looking at him. Obi-Wan huffed. “What is it dear one?”
“Oh nothing,” Anakin responded smoothly. “Just thinking about how beautiful you are.”
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes. "Must you always be so sappy?”
Anakin laughed. “I know you like it.” Obi-Wan could only roll his eyes again before Anakin practically yelled right in his ear. “Shooting star! Make a wish!”
Obi-Wan glanced up just in time to see it disappear under the bright city lights in the distance. “It was too fast, I couldn’t,” he complained.
Anakin sighed. “That’s what you said last time. Come on, just tell me your wish.”
Obi-Wan huffed fondly. “I don’t have one, because I already have everything I could wish for. Do you have a wish?”
Anakin cooed. “Awwww. Well, I would wish that in every universe and every life, I am reunited with you.”
Obi-Wan smiled softly. “In every universe Anakin? You wouldn't get tired of me?”
Anakin scoffed. “I can’t imagine kissing anyone else anymore. Would…would you get tired of me?” Anakin gave him that desperately hopeful look Obi-Wan fell for every time.
Obi-Wan sighed, looking at Anakin fondly. “I couldn’t be more tired of you….but I suppose I must be very fond of feeling tired.” Anakin smiled, and for a moment Obi-Wan thought he saw tears glistening in his eyes. “May I….kiss you?” Obi-Wan asked as he reached up to cup Anakin’s cheek.
Anakin could only nod as they both leaned forward to kiss each other. Every time they kissed it felt like the first time, a wave of passion and butterflies following every brush of their lips, making it more than impossible to stop once they started. It truly felt like their lips were meant to meet, like their paths were always meant to cross, like they were always meant to be together. Hands grasped at hair and clothes as their kiss just kept getting deeper, broken ‘I love yous’ mumbled between kisses.
Eventually, Anakin pulled back, whispering against Obi-Wan’s lips. “So was…was fifty years of marriage worth it?”
Obi-Wan couldn’t help but laugh. “Anakin, there is no way I could ever say no.”
Anakin smiled against his lips, giving him a few more pecks on the lips before whispering again, the happy tears that were previously in his eyes now rolling down his cheeks. “I…I just wanted to hear you tell me you loved me again.” Anakin asked breathily.
Obi-Wan looked Anakin in the eyes, his own tears coming to fill his eyes. “Anakin, I love you, for all eternity."
